    A Twitter user who goes by the name of @AnimeFOSS409 just tweeted a reminder that the Steam Deck the hand-held game console from Valve happens to run Linux. This was the third such post he has made in the last 24 hours.

    Todays event appears to be part of a growing trend. As of Monday morning, over 12% of Twitter posts were casual, non-specific observations that the Steam Deck happens to run Linux with the hashtag #OhHeyTheSteamDeckRunsLinuxStill trending for over 7 days.

    The phenomenon appears to be not isolated to Twitter.

    According to a report, from a leading Internet analytics firm which studied Linux-related podcasts and YouTube channels during the month of March, over 90% of the content from such shows was focused on, quote nondescript, vague, banal declarations of Linux running on the Steam Deck that are almost too tedious and repetitive to be real.

    One Linux Podcaster, who spoke to The Lunduke Journal on the condition of anonymity said, Thats a good point. We do talk about this an awful lot, dont we? But have you heard what Operating System powers the Steam Deck from Valve? The answer will shock you!

    When reached for comment by The Lunduke Journal, a representative from Valve issued the following statement:

    Eeeeexcellent. All according to plan. Originally we werent even going to
    use Linux on the Steam Deck. Then Gabe was all like Naw, dude. We gotta use Linux. Those Linux nerds will never shut up about it. Free marketing, brah!
