8 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and more this weekend (October 28)

    Description:
From returning Emmy award-winners to slow-burning murder mysteries, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Hold the front page! Weve upped our usual seven streaming recommendations to eight this week, such is the frequency with which Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and the rest are dropping new movies and TV shows for viewers to enjoy.

Its a prolific few days on Netflix, in particular, with Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, The Good Nurse, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself and Wendell & Wild all arriving within days
of each other. And thats before mentioning Tales of the Jedi on Disney Plus and the return of The White Lotus on HBO Max.

Below, then, weve collated eight of the biggest new movies and TV shows to watch on streaming services this weekend. The White Lotus season 2 (HBO Max)

HBOs Hawaii-set drama series, The White Lotus, scooped a year-high 10
trophies at the 2022 Emmy awards, and now the show returns for its much-anticipated second season.

This time around, proceedings move away from the titular resort at the heart of the series first season and into a glitzy new hotel in Sicily. The excellent Jennifer Coolidge reprises her role as Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, but season 2s cast which includes Aubrey Plaza, F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hollander and Theo James is otherwise entirely new.

The first episode of The White Lotus season 2 will be available to stream on HBO Max in the US (and on Sky and Now in the UK) from Sunday. The remaining six installments are due to arrive on a weekly basis through December 11.

Available to stream on HBO Max, Sky and Now from Sunday. Guillermo Del
    Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (Netflix)

Guillermo del Toro has had a busy few years. Just 10 months after releasing Nightmare Alley and two months before unveiling his next movie, Pinocchio the Oscar-winning filmmaker brings his talents to the small screen with Cabinet of Curiosities.

Originally titled 10 After Midnight, this eight-episode horror anthology series tells a variety of twisted fairytale stories, each with their own distinct cast and style. The likes of Andrew Lincoln, Peter Weller, Eric Andre, Rupert Grint and Tim Blake Nelson star, while Jennifer Kent (The Babadook) and Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night) count
    among the series many directors.

Two new episodes of Cabinet of Curiosities have been dropping each day since Tuesday bucking the usual Netflix trend of shows arriving in their entirety but all eight installments are now available to stream.

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Good Nurse (Netflix)

Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain go Oscar-hunting in The Good Nurse which is not, despite its title, a prequel to The Good Doctor.

Based on events documented in the book of the same name by Charles Graeber, this new Netflix movie follows the murderous exploits of real-life serial killer Charles Cullen (Redmayne). Chastain plays Cullen's co-worker, Amy Loughren, the nurse who would go on to expose his habitual poisoning of
dozens of patients over a period of sixteen years.

On the broad spectrum of Netflix films, The Good Nurse is a lower-key affair than, say, Don't Look Up but its shocking story of gross criminal negligence is far more impactful than the big-budget drama of the streamer's starrier blockbusters.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Tales of the Jedi (Disney Plus)

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, its that time again: another new Star Wars TV show is here.

Like Star Wars: Visions before it, Tales of the Jedi is an animated anthology series that hops between various characters in the Star Wars universe. But in this Dave Filoni-created show, the visual style which is similar to that of The Clone Wars stays the same throughout, and each story focuses on a different notable Jedi.

Ahsoka (Ashley Eckstein) and Count Dooku (Corey Burton) count among season 1s Jedi subjects, and all six of the series 15-minute episodes are available to stream on Disney Plus now.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. All Quiet on the Western Front (Netflix)

Its been a good few years since Dunkirk and 1917 reminded audiences of the horrors of war, and Netflix will be hoping its new movie, All Quiet on the Western Front, carries the same impact as those Oscar-winning productions.

Based on Erich Maria Remarques landmark WWI novel of the same name (which was first adapted into a feature film in 1930), this German-language movie tells the story of a young German soldier (Felix Kammerer) whose naive expectations of fighting for his country are shattered by wars harrowing reality.

All Quiet on the Western Front has been hailed by critics as brutal, vivid
and poignant but dont expect to leave this one feeling particularly joyous.

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Devil's Hour (Prime Video)

Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife) and former Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi lead the cast of Prime Videos new psychological horror series,The Devils
    Hour.

This six-episode show follows Lucy (Raine), a young woman who wakes up at the same time every night in the middle of the so-called devil's hour. Why?
Nobody knows except, perhaps, for Gideon (Capaldi), a Hannibal Lecter-style serial killer with a lot on his mind.

Critics have praised The Devil's Hour for being a smart and sinister update
on the tried-and-tested police procedural formula, so wed suggest giving it a try if youre into your twisty crime dramas.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself (Netflix)

Giri/Haji and Encounter screenwriter Joe Barton returns to the small screen with new Netflix series The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself .

Adapted from Sally Green's Half Bad novel series, this eight-episode series centers on Nathan (Jay Lycurgo), a teenager who just so happens to be the illegitimate son of the worlds most dangerous witch. Reluctant to follow in the footsteps of his murderous father, he tries (but mostly fails) to stay
    out of trouble.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself may be based on young adult fiction, but its gruesome visuals suggest anything but. Netflix itself has described the show as "a truly ****** up ride", so we reckon it could be perfect pre-Halloween viewing.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Wendell & Wild (Netflix)

The fourth (fourth!) Netflix recommendation this week is the suitably spooky stop-motion animated adventure Wendell & Wild.

From the minds of Henry Selick (Coraline) and Jordan Peele ( Nope ), this new Netflix movie follows two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele), who enlist the help of a teenage girl (Lyric Ross) to summon them to the Land of the Living. Angela Bassett, James Hong and Ving Rhames also star.

Wendell & Wild has been called a messy but imaginative ride by critics, and existing Laika movie fans are likely to find plenty of supernatural sorcery
    to enjoy here.

    Description:
From returning Netflix dramas to the 94th Academy Awards, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Last weeks streaming list was the definition of jam-packed. Not only did we see new arrivals on almost every major streamer, but we extended our usual seven entries to eight, such was the quality of small screen offerings available to subscribers.

Well, weve done the same again this weekend, as new TV shows on Hulu and Paramount Plus Atlanta and Halo, specifically nestle their way in alongside additions to usual suspects Netflix , Prime Video , Disney Plus and HBO Max .

Below, then, weve rounded up eight of the biggest new movies and TV shows available to watch on streaming services this March weekend.

And yes, Bridgerton is back. Dont freak out. Bridgerton season 2

Indisputably the highest-profile arrival this weekend is Bridgerton season 2
, which comes to Netflix more than a year after the shows internet-breaking debut.

Before Squid Game came along and blew every viewership record out of the water, Shonda Rhimes Regency-era drama ranked as the biggest TV series in the streamers history, and while breakout star Reg-Jean Page doesnt return for
its new episodes, we expect season 2 to prove similarly popular among, well, everyone.

Bridgertons latest instalment places the spotlight on the eldest Bridgerton brother, Lord Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), as he embarks on a quest to find a bride. Sex Education s Simone Ashley joins the shows cast as a potential match, Kate but as weve come to expect from Bridgertons steamy style, their romance is far from guaranteed.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Halo (Paramount Plus)

If not for Bridgerton, Paramount Plus highly-anticipated Halo TV show would have surely sat atop this weeks list of streaming arrivals.

A nine-episode adaptation of the acclaimed video game series, this big-budget adventure follows the exploits of Master Chief, a cybernetically enhanced super-soldier tasked with defending humanity from alien baddies the Covenant in the 26th century.

Halo will undoubtedly prove an enjoyable, CGI-filled romp for many sci-fi fans, though judging by the shows first few episodes, we at TechRadar think
it has an identity problem (check out our roundup of other Halo reviews
before watching, too). UK viewers will have to wait until later in 2022 to catch this one on Sky and Now TV.

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus in the US. Atlanta season 3 (Hulu)

Four years after its second season, Donald Glovers acclaimed comedy, Atlanta, returns to Hulu in the US for its long-awaited third outing.

Rather than taking viewers back to the titular city, though, new episodes will, for the first time, follow Earn (Glover), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield)
and Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) as they make their way through various European locales. We dont expect any less music-filled mayhem, mind.

The first two episodes of Atlanta season 3 are available to stream now, with the remaining eight set to arrive on a weekly basis every Friday (a day after airing on FX). UK viewers will find them (eventually) in Disney Plus Star library, but we dont know when just yet.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US. Pachinko (Apple TV Plus)

Billed as Apples first tri-lingual original series (featuring dialogue in English, Korean and Japanese), Pachinko tells the sweeping, multigenerational tale of a Korean family that emigrates to Japan.

Adapted from the 2017 novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, this eight-episode show stars Minaris Oscar-winning Youn Yuh-jung, Devs Jin Ha and Korean megastar Lee Min-ho. If youre familiar with South Korean cinema, thats some call sheet.

As such, we reckon Pachinko could prove a breakout hit of 2022 especially after the critical success of recent Apple TV Plus projects Swan Song, Severance and WeCrashed. The series first three episodes are available to stream now, with the remaining five coming every Friday.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. One Perfect Shot (HBO Max)

Film buffs, listen up: One Perfect Shot is the factual feature for you.

From filmmaker Ava DuVernay who helmed one of the best Netflix documentaries , 13th this six-episode docuseries series (which was inspired by the Twitter account of the same name) sees acclaimed movie directors discussing their
    most iconic shots.

Each episode is dedicated to a single filmmaker, with entries focusing on the likes of Michael Mann, Patty Jenkins and Aaron Sorkin. All six episodes are available to stream now on HBO Max, though were not yet certain when or where UK viewers will get to enjoy them.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US. No Woman No Try (Prime Video)

One Perfect Shot (above) may read like a basketball documentary, but theres
no mistaking the sporty subject of Prime Videos No Woman No Try.

A behind-closed-doors look at the current status of gender, ethnicity and sexual equality in women's rugby, this important feature was inspired by the global #IAmEnough movement (initiated in 2020 by the documentarys director, Victoria Rush) and poses the question: how do you defeat the opposition when theyre not on the field?

No Woman No Try features insight from professional rugby players, womens sports advocates and their male allies, and ultimately aims to highlight the obstacles women face in order to succeed in an already tough sport.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (Disney Plus)

Well admit: a documentary charting the creative process of singer Olivia Rodrigo isnt the most exciting of new Disney Plus shows .

Having said that, Rodrigos legions of fans and were talking millions here will inevitably be interested in learning how the stars record-breaking debut album, Sour, came together.

As well as exploring Rodrigos songwriting inspirations, though, driving home
2 u also features new arrangements of the singers most popular tracks, and offers a more personal look at one of the music industrys biggest rising stars.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. The 94th Academy Awards (Hulu + Live TV, Sky Go, Now TV)

Still the biggest date in the Hollywood movie calendar, the Academy Awards return to Los Angeles Dolby Theatre this Sunday (or Monday morning, if youre in the UK).

Weve already noted what the 2022 BAFTA results tell us about the Oscars race
, but this years Oscar nominees are a varied (and therefore unpredictable) bunch. By most accounts, though, The Power of the Dog, CODA and Belfast are the trio of films vying for Best Picture (our guess is a first win for Netflix).

Those in the US can tune into the 94th Academy Awards via Hulus Live TV subscription plan, or cash in on the free trial currently being offered by FuboTV . UK viewers will find the ceremony streaming on Sky Go and Now TV via the Sky Movies channel.

Available to stream from Sunday on various streaming platforms. New movies 2022: what to watch in theaters this year

    Description:
From erotic psychological thrillers to true-life drama series, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve been publishing these weekly streaming lists for some time now, but this particular edition is hands-down the most jam-packed yet. Honestly, theres no way anyone can hope to watch everything included below (not even the
TechRadar entertainment team, as hard as we'll try...).

Not only have we had to stretch our usual seven entries to eight, but this might also be the first time that new projects from Netflix , Prime Video , Disney Plus , Apple TV Plus , Hulu and HBO Max all feature together in the same list and we havent even included the arrival of new series DMZ and Minx on the latter platform. That's how stacked this week's new releases roster is looking.

Below, then, youll find our pick of the eight (!) biggest new movies and TV shows available to watch on streaming services this March weekend. Nightmare Alley (Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu)

Headlining this weeks arrivals is Guillermo del Toros Nightmare Alley, which comes to Disney Plus in the UK (having already dropped on HBO Max and Hulu in the US) less than two months after its theatrical debut.

Based on the 1946 novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham, the
movie follows a drifter, Stan Carlisle (Bradley Cooper), who cosies up to a psychic (Cate Blanchett) and her husband (David Strathairn) while working at
a carnival only to use the powers learned from the former to swindle the elite and wealthy.

Sure, that premise sounds a little strange (perhaps explaining why the film struggled so much at the global box office), but Nightmare Alley was nonetheless near-universally praised by both critics and those who did catch it in theaters. It's also up for a few Academy Awards , which should speak to its quality. Either way, expect the unexpected from this one.

Now available to stream on HBO Max and Hulu in the US, and on Disney Plus in the UK. Deep Water (Hulu, Prime Video)

Arriving after the off-screen split of its on-screen co-stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas (having originally been slated for theatrical release in 2020), Deep Water comes to Prime Video and Hulu with a healthy dose of celebrity gossip in tow.

The first film in two decades from Fatal Attraction director Adrian Lyne,
this one is another psychological thriller based on Patricia Highsmith's
1957 novel that follows a husband who allows his wife to have affairs in order to avoid a costly divorce. When her lovers begin to go missing, though, he (unsurprisingly) becomes a prime suspect.

Affleck played a similar role in 2014s Gone Girl, so fans of Gillian Flynns twisty crime caper should find plenty to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Prime Video in the UK. WeCrashed (Apple TV Plus)

Landing on Apple TV Plus just weeks after the release of Showtimes The Battle for Uber (which chronicles the rise and fall of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick), WeCrashed depicts the similarly stark downfall of WeWork boss Adam Neumann.

Jared Leto plays Neumann alongside Anne Hathaway as his wife and company co-founder Rebekah in this eight-episode series adapted from the Wondery podcast of the same name by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello.

The first three episodes are available to stream today, with the remaining five arriving in weekly instalments every Friday. Fans of The Social Network, take note WeCrashed tells an equally damning (but perhaps lesser known) tale of technological innovation and corporate betrayal.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. Windfall (Netflix)

Potentially one of the biggest new Netflix movies of the year, Windfall stars Lily Collins and Jesse Plemons as a young couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find its being robbed by a hapless burglar (Jason Segel).

Netflix describes this one as a "Hitchcockian thriller," so we're expecting Windfall to play more like a psychological drama than its comedic premise first suggests, and early critical reactions suggest the movie ends up being an interesting commentary on class division in America.

With The Adam Project already out and sitting pretty as the most popular
movie on Netflix right now, were expecting the streamers latest feature to find an instant audience.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Top Boy season 2 (Netflix)

One of the most underrated Netflix series (despite finding popularity in the UK), Top Boy returns for its long-awaited second season this weekend.

We say second season, but this is actually the shows fourth outing. Top Boy seasons 1 and 2 aired on UK broadcaster Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013, respectively, before Netflix rebooted the show (for a third season) in 2019, albeit without the numerical title.

In any case, new episodes of the acclaimed series will find Dushane (Ashley Walters), Sully (Kane Robinson) and Jamie (Micheal Ward) crossing UK county and country lines to preserve the supremacy of Londons fictional Summerhouse estate. Expect brawn and bullets aplenty.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Cheaper by the Dozen (Disney Plus)

Scrubs Zach Braff and America's Got Talents Gabrielle Union lead this remake of beloved 2003 (and 1950) comedy Cheaper by the Dozen, which is now
    streaming on Disney Plus.

Those familiar with the original movies premise will know the score here: a couple struggle to maintain their family business while also raising 10 (not 12) unruly children. This version is a little different in that said children come from the couples previous (and various) marriages, and subjects such as bullying and racism are touched upon (where they werent before) but viewers should expect more of the same family fun from Disneys latest re-telling.

As youd expect from a film of this kind, early criticism has been decidedly mixed, but we imagine Cheaper by the Dozen isnt the sort of movie one watches for deep intellectual stimulation.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. Master (Prime Video)

If youre eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jordan Peeles Nope , Prime Videos latest thriller, Master, should tide you over nicely.

The debut feature from emerging writer-director Mariama Diallo, this one
tells the story of three Black women at a prestigious New England university professors Gail Bishop (Regina Hall), Liv Beckman (Amber Gray) and freshman Jasmine Moore (Zoe Renee) who are left are shaken by a racist attack against a student on campus.

Master proved the subject of exciting buzz when it premiered at Sundance festival earlier in 2022, earning comparisons to Peele's 2017 horror, Get
Out. The Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus describes the movie as didactic rather than truly suspenseful but an impressively well-crafted horror outing with a lot on its mind.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Human Resources (Netflix)

Given how well the adult animated comedy series has performed for Netflix during its five-season run, its no surprise to see a Big Mouth spin-off show Human Resources land on the streamer this weekend.

Featuring the voices of Rosie Perez, Henry Winkler, Jemaine Clement, Maria Bamford, Thandie Newton, Bobby Cannavale and many more, the new series pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards, and other creatures that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the twilight years.

Not sold yet? Human Resources has been praised for being more thoughtful and definitely more raunchy than its predecessor, so returning fans will likely find plenty to enjoy here.

    Description:
From returning gangster series to brand new superhero adventures, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Like clockwork, another slew of huge new movies and TV shows has arrived on streaming services to clog up your already stacked watchlist for 2022.

This weekend is a particularly unique case, mind you, since the headline series Peaky Blinders season 6 has already aired in certain parts of the world. The final outing for the BBC-produced show began streaming in the UK way back in February, but now it's finally come to Netflix for overseas audiences to enjoy. Elsewhere, new superhero adventure Ms. Marvel arrives on Disney Plus , while critically-acclaimed sci-fi series, For All Mankind, returns to Apple TV Plus .

Below, weve rounded up eight of the biggest new movies and TV shows available to stream on the likes of Netflix , Prime Video , HBO Max and more this weekend. Peaky Blinders season 6 (Netflix)

After a string of pandemic-induced delays, Peaky Blinders season 6 hit BBC iPlayer in the UK earlier this year. However, US audiences have had to wait for Steven Knight's beloved period drama to return, and it does so for the final time on Netflix this weekend.

In the interest of avoiding spoilers, all well say is this: the gangster series new episodes find some familiar faces (including Tom Hardys Alfie Solomons) picking up the pieces left by Tommy Shelbys actions in the shows explosive season 5 finale. The shadow of a looming Second World War now hangs over proceedings, too, so expect Peaky Blinders season 6 to up the bullet
    (and body) count even further.

As mentioned, these episodes have been confirmed as the Blinders last on TV but fear not: creator Knight has pledged to continue their story in a future movie.

Now available to stream on Netflix in the US. Ms. Marvel (Disney Plus)

Arriving hot on the heels of fan-favorite MCU series Moon Knight this weekend is Ms. Marvel, the latest piece in the superhero studios ambitious (but still developing) Marvel Phase 4 puzzle.

This six-episode show tells the tale of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a Pakistani-American teenager and Avengers superfan who comes into possession
of a strange ancestral bracelet that grants her superpowers. Naturally, though, some folk arent too keen on Khans ability to manipulate the world around her, and the young high schooler finds herself pursued by two mysterious organizations that threaten her once normal existence.

In our review , we said that Ms. Marvel is a fun, colorful, fantastical and optimistic series that the MCU needs after the weightier feel of other recent productions, so wed definitely recommend it for those seeking a break from Marvels more serious Phase 4 stories. Episode 1 is available to stream now on Disney Plus (you can read our post-credits scene explainer , too, once you're done), with the remaining five entries arriving weekly every Wednesday.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. For All Mankind season 3 (Apple TV Plus)

2022 is fast becoming a supreme year for Apple TV Plus subscribers, and
hoping to ride on the coattails of critical hits Severance and Pachinko is space drama For All Mankind, which returns for its eagerly-awaited third season.

Picking up directly after the events of the Cold War-set series dramatic second run, new episodes find the shows warring astronauts jetting off to
Mars for the first time, with a new player an ambitious tech company called Helios in tow as fresh competition.

Rolling Stone named For All Mankind season 2 as the best television of 2021 (preferring the Apple drama to pop culture behemoths Succession and Squid
Game ), so were excited to see whether the shows third outing can continue
    its critical hot streak.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. Hustle (Netflix)

One of the biggest new Netflix movies of 2022 is Hustle, an Adam Sandler-starring basketball drama that appears to be defying expectations
    with audiences and critics alike.

After discovering a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past abroad, a down-on-his-luck Philadelphia 76ers scout, Stanley Sugerman (Sandler), takes it upon himself to bring the young phenom to the States without his team's approval. Against the odds, the pair must work to prove that they both
deserve to make it big in the NBA.

That synopsis might sound like standard sports drama fare, but Hustle is earning unexpectedly glowing reviews in our own assessment , we called the movie a rousing redemption tale that provides further evidence of Sandlers ability as a damn fine actor. Trust us: this is no Jack and Jill.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Queer as Folk (Peacock)

A stateside reimagining of the 1999 British LGBTQ drama series of the same name, Queer as Folk makes its bold return on Peacock this weekend.

Counting original creator Russell T. Davies among its producers, this Stephen Dunn-directed show follows a diverse group of twenty-somethings (fronted by Devin Way, Fin Argus, Ryan OConnell, Johnny Sibilly and Jesse James Keitelas) as they come to terms with a shared tragedy in modern-day New Orleans.

Recurring guests in the new-look Queer as Folk include Sex and the City s Kim Cattrall, Better Call Saul s Ed Begley Jr. and Euphoria breakout Lukas Gage. Suffice to say, theres a lot of talent in this Peacock-exclusive production.

Now available to stream on Peacock. First Kill (Netflix)

Netflix loves a cheesy supernatural drama, and First Kill looks like it could be the streamers corniest for some time.

Based on the short story of the same name by V. E. Schwab, this eight-episode show adapts Shakespeares classic Romeo and Juliet storyline into a tale of a vampire, Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), and a vampire hunter, Calliope (Imani Lewis), whose forbidden romance sparks a series of bloody
    consequences.

Despite its typically teenage premise, though, First Kills same-sex throughline marks another important step for on-screen representation, and fans of similar young adult Netflix dramas like Fate: The Winx Saga and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will likely find plenty to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Fairfax season 2 (Prime Video)

Fairfax, Amazons adult animated comedy series focusing on the pulsing heart
of hypebeast culture, gets a second season on Prime Video this weekend.

The shows new episodes continue the never-ending quest for clout of four middle schoolers on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, and Fairfax season 2 once again features the voice acting quartet of Skyler Gisondo, Kiersey Clemons, Peter S. Kim and Jaboukie Young-White.

Although its humor is pretty on-the-nose, Fairfax occasionally resembles a smart skewering of todays internet-obsessed young people, and wed recommend that fans of Netflixs comparable Neo Yokio series give it a try.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. The Janes (HBO Max)

Closing out this weeks recommendations is a customary documentary offering from HBO Max.

Produced by factual filmmakers Emma Pildes and Tia Lessin, The Janes takes a microscope to the little-known Jane Collective, an underground Chicago-based group that provided over 11,000 illegal abortions to women prior to Americas historic Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973.

This feature-length documentary premiered at Sundance to rave reviews,
shining a fascinating light on an issue that continues to rear its controversial head in 2022. Were not yet sure when The Janes will become available to stream for UK audiences, though wed anticipated its arrival on Sky and Now TV in the near future.
