    FULL STORY ======================================================================

    Today's Strands is an apt one for the weekend, but I can't say any more without giving the game away.

    It's a fun one, trust me, but requires certain specialist knowledge. If you don't have it, you may find some of my hints to be helpful

    The answers to today's Strands, game #41, are QUEEN RUSH JOURNEY HEART OASIS NIRVANA POISON SPANGRAM: ROCKBANDS My rating: Moderate My score: Perfect

    I've rated this as 'moderate' despite getting a perfect score myself, because if you're not a music buff or specifically a rock music buff you might find it a lot harder than I did.

    As a former music journalist, it didn't tax me too much, although I did struggle to find Nirvana, for some reason (which is bizarre given that they are objectively the best band listed here). Anyway, the key here is in
    working out what the relatively cryptic theme clue of 'Group think' was referring to. I was lucky in that the first two words I found were QUEEN and RUSH. That was plenty of info for me to know what was going on, and I found the spangram easily after that.

    Looking for NYT Strands answers and hints? Here's all you need to know to solve today's game, including the Spangram.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

    It's the weekend. Yay! And in keeping with the more relaxed nature of the
    day, this Strands puzzle is a little easier to solve than some. Yay again!

    Strands is the latest addition to the New York Times' Games selection,
    joining the likes of Wordle and Connections. It's great fun, but can be
    tricky at times, so scroll down for my hints. Although as I said above, this one isn't necessarily too bad

    SPOILER WARNING: Information about NYT Strands today is below, so don't read on if you don't want to know the answers. NYT Strands today (game #48) - hint #1 - today's theme What is the theme of today's NYT Strands?

    The answers to today's Strands, game #48, are STROLL STRUT MARCH AMBLE TRUDGE TREK SAUNTER SPANGRAM: PEDESTRIAN My rating: Easy My score: Perfect

    The clue here was 'Walk this way', and once I'd established that AEROSMITH wasn't an answer (and neither was RUN-DMC), it was obvious that what was needed was 'words associated with walking'. I couldn't find STRIDE, but uncovered STROLL, MARCH and TRUDGE early on, and the others followed easily enough afterwards.

    The spangram might have been harder, but by then I'd revealed so much of the board that it was no great problem to find PEDESTRIAN and finish off the puzzle.

    Looking for NYT Strands answers and hints? Here's all you need to know to solve today's game, including the Spangram.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

    It's Friday, it's the final Strands puzzle of the working week (for some) and it's a rather easy one. That's my experience at least but you may disagree.
    If so, don't worry because you can find some handy hints for today's game below.

    Right, the answers are below, so DO NOT SCROLL ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM. NYT Strands today (game #55) - the answers (Image credit: New York Times)

    The answers to today's Strands, game #55, are QUEEN DOCTOR ADMIRAL REVEREND PROFESSOR SENATOR SPANGRAM: TITLES My rating: Easy My score: Perfect

    The theme clue of 'Call me?' was a little opaque today, but that aside this was a relatively simple Strands puzzle with which to end the working week
    (for those of us who work Monday-Friday, that is). It's one of those games where finding the first answer may well have been enough to identify the overall theme, and where finding one answer was very easy.

    That's because there's a Q in it and Q words are generally easy to solve.
    For instance, you know that it's definitely going to be followed by a U, and that reduces the number of directions in which the word can develop. It was a cinch today to uncover QUEEN and together with the clue that gave me the
    info I needed to look for (and find) the likes of DOCTOR and PROFESSOR. A couple took a little more effort (I'm looking at you, SENATOR and ADMIRAL), but as a whole this was not too bad.
