7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (June 2)

    Description:
From divisive new dramas to returning sci-fi favorites, these are the films and TV series to stream this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Another weekend has rolled around and that means it's time to bring you another round-up of the biggest movies and TV shows to watch on the world's best streaming services .

Well, some of them anyway. A new month usually heralds the arrival of
multiple new shows and movies on the likes of Disney Plus and Hulu . As weeks go, though, this one's pretty quiet by all accounts.

Still, of our seven-strong selection for the weekend of June 3 and 4, forthcoming Max drama The Idol is arguably the most anticipated and, given its mixed critical reception, not for all the right reasons, either. If gritty, adult-themed musical dramas aren't your idea of a good time, though, there are other fascinating options available on Netflix , Prime Video , and Paramount Plus for you to try instead.

So, without further ado, here are the seven most intriguing films and TV series to stream in the coming days. The Idol

    Where to stream it: Max

Max (formally known as HBO Max) has been the go-to streamer for all things drama genre-based in 2023, with the likes of The Last of Us and Succession season 4 drawing in millions of users on a weekly basis.

The Idol , a new raunchy musical drama set to debut on June 4, hopes to follow in that duo's footsteps. Co-created by Euphoria 's Sam Levinson and Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd, The Idol focuses on Jocelyn (Lily Rose-Depp), who tries to reclaim her title as the world's sexiest pop star with the aid of Tedros (The Weeknd), the leader of a contemporary cult, whom Jocelyn embarks on a complex romantic relationship with.

A prestige drama it might be, but critics have panned The Idol for its
sleazy, on-the-nose satirization of the music industry and for being "brutish", "nasty", and a "misfire of high-budget misogyny". Ouch. In short: don't expect it to join our best Max shows list anytime soon. With Love
    season 2

Where to stream it: Prime Video

Amazon Studios' underrated rom-com series returns for its second outing this week, and its lighthearted and earnest approach to romance might be the perfect tonic to The Idol 's more abrasive exploration of the same topic.

With Love season 2 reunites viewers with siblings Lily and Jorge Diaz, who continue to navigate the world of dating and relationships with contrasting success. It's a good job, then, that the pair can rely on their respective support groups to help them through their tough romantic tests. Expect to laugh and cry along with Lily and Jorge as they're forced to traverse new love-based challenges in the show's sophomore outing. One for our best Prime Video shows guide? Maybe. Manifest season 4 part 2

    Where to stream it: Netflix

The end is night for the survivors of Montego Air Flight 828. Manifest season 4 part 2 will officially close out the season and the series which Netflix picked up following its cancellation on ABC this weekend, and it promises to be an explosive and potentially shocking end to one of the best Netflix shows around.

Ordinarily, this is the part where we'd briefly recap what happened in the season's first part, but doing so would spoil many of Manifest 's secrets up to this point. Manifest diehards know what's at stake by now, so the only thing left to do is take a seat, strap yourself in, and prepare for the
    flight of a lifetime. Medellin

Where to stream it: Prime Video

It's a quiet week on the new movie front, so Amazon will be hoping its new action-comedy flick Medelln will fill the streaming film void in your life.

Medelln stars Ramzy Bedia as Reda, a seemingly ordinary individual who sets out to rescue his younger brother from a vicious cartel in Colombia. However, when Reda kidnaps the cartel leader's son in order to exchange him for his brother, things quickly get out of hand.

Narratively, it doesn't sound particularly novel, but Medelln might surprise
a few people with what's on offer. If nothing else, it contains a cameo from legendary boxer Mike Tyson, which might be worth checking out even if the
rest of Medelln isn't. Magic Mike's Last Dance

    Where to stream it: Max

Nearly four months after it debuted in theaters, the final installment in the Magic Mike trilogy lands on Max this weekend.

Magic Mike's Last Dance sees Channing Tatum return as the titular character, who's retired from the stripper business and now works as a Miami-based bartender. When he's propositioned by Salma Hayek's Max (no relation to the service it's available on) about helping her produce a stage play in London, though, Mike is drawn back into the world he thought he'd left behind.

The movies received mixed reviews upon initial release in February, with critics calling it "loose and limber enough to entertain" and a "satisfying conclusion" to the trilogy Tatum has helmed. Maybe it's not for everyone, but those who enjoyed Mike's previous theatrical outings should get a kick out of it. Joe Pickett season 2

Where to stream it: Paramount Plus

Paramount Plus has steadily been growing its library of neo-Western crime dramas in recent years, with its Yellowstone universe undeniably the cream of the crop in that field. The studio's TV adaptation of Joe Pickett , though,
is also worth investing in and it just so happens that the show's second season arrives on Paramount's streamer on June 4.

Based on CJ Box's book series of the same name, Joe Pickett tells the tale of the titular Wyoming game warden and his family as they navigate numerous socioeconomic and political challenges in their community.

Like Medelln , Joe Pickett 's synopsis doesn't immediately jump out at you, but critics have had largely good things to say about it since its initial December 2021 debut. One to try if you're looking to fill the Yellowstone
hole in your life before season 5 part 2 of one of the best Paramount Plus shows ever arrives later this year. Painting With John season 3

    Where to stream it: Max

The multi-talented John Lurie returns with his fireside chat-style painting series on Max this weekend and, just like previous seasons, viewers can expect plenty more in the way of abstract artwork, casual conversation, and meandering metaphors.

Season 3 follows the same six-episode, 30-minute format as its predecessors new entries are released every Friday, FYI and sees Lurie continue to
delight audiences with his laid-back, meditative musings as he showcases his abilities as an artist. One for Bob Ross fans to consider watching. Just
don't get offended with the title of the show's first-ever episode, which is called 'Bob Ross Was Wrong'.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (June 16)

    Date:
    Fri, 16 Jun 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From mind-bending Netflix thrillers to returning action franchises, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its been a fairly quiet month on the best streaming services so far, but this weekend has enough headline-grabbing new movies and TV shows in the pipeline to give May 2022 (otherwise known as Stranger Things 5 month) a run for its money.

Headlining the latest crop of arrivals is Black Mirror season six on Netflix
, which is joined by the highly-anticipated sequel to 2020s Extraction , starring Chris Hemsworth. Elsewhere, The Grand Tour gang returns for more automotive mayhem on Prime Video, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gets a follow-up season on Paramount Plus .

Below, weve rounded up seven of the biggest new movies and TV shows headed to Netflix, Prime Video, Max and more this weekend. Black Mirror season 6 (Netflix)

Its been four years since Charlie Brookers Black Mirror last got under our skin, but now the mega-popular sci-fi anthology series returns to Netflix for its sixth season.

The series latest crop of dystopian stories features turns from the likes of Aaron Paul, Zazie Beetz, Salma Hayek, Michael Cera, Josh Hartnett and Rob Delaney, with Brooker himself on hand as the writer of all five new installments.

Black Mirror fans are already in disagreement over season 6s best and worst
episodes , but given that were talking about one of the best Netflix shows ever, theres likely to be at least a few new entries here that get your mind racing and your stomach churning.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Extraction 2 (Netflix)

Chris Hemsworth swaps Asgard for espionage in the sequel to Sam Hargraves
2020 smash-hit Extraction , which is now streaming on Netflix.

Extraction 2 finds Hemsworths seemingly indestructible hero, Tyler Rake, returning for another high-stakes and globe-trotting special ops mission,
this time to save a ruthless gangster's imprisoned family.

In our Extraction 2 review , we described the film as more suspenseful, thematically rich and action-heavy than its predecessor, but criticized its lack of depth. That said, the movies 21-minute, one-shot action sequence is a doozy and we spoke to Hargrave about how he and his team pulled it off .

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (Prime Video)

The trusty trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond return to Prime Video for their latest vehicular misadventure this weekend.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash finds the hapless British presenters embarking on
a 1,400-mile road trip across the geopolitical barrier formerly known as the Iron Curtain, which was once made up of countries including Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.

If youve ever seen a Grand Tour special before, you'll know exactly what to expect from this new feature: expletives, extreme vehicles and, in all likelihood, a few minor explosions.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 (Paramount Plus)

The Star Trek franchise has endured a rocky ride of late, but last years Star Trek: Strange New Worlds proved a hit with existing fans and newcomers alike.

Now, the spin-off series returns for its second season on Paramount Plus, adding Paul Wesley's James T. Kirk as a regular and comedy legend Carol Kane as the mysterious, hilarious chief engineer Pelia.

Otherwise, its safe to expect more of the same intergalactic action from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2, though a later episode in the season will reportedly combine live-action with animation and cross over with characters from Star Trek: Lower Decks .

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus. The Full Monty (Hulu, Disney
    Plus)

Arriving 25 years after its Best Picture-nominated predecessor is new comedy series The Full Monty , which is now streaming on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK.

This FX-produced show picks up you guessed it 25 years after Gaz, Dave, Lomper and the gang first took to the stage to bear all, with Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Tom Wilkinson, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison and Wim Snap all reprising their roles from the 1997 original film. Newcomers include Miles Jupp and Paul Clayton.

Critics havent been too kind to The Full Monty so far, describing the series as flawed but full of unassuming charm. Still, fans of Peter Cattaneos original will surely find plenty of nostalgic sentiment to enjoy here. All eight episodes are available to stream now.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK. Stan
    Lee (Disney Plus)

There are no new Marvel movies or TV shows on the horizon this weekend although Secret Invasion 's thrilling opening scene is available to watch right now but Disney Plus is offering an extended look at the life and
legacy of Marvel legend Stan Lee.

Combining never-before-seen footage with archival commentary from Lee
himself, Stan Lee lays bare the influence of a man whose superhero creations would go on to change the face of entertainment forever.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. How Do You Measure A Year? (Max)

The second of this weeks documentary picks, How Do You Measure A Year? was recently nominated for Best Documentary Short film at the 2023 Oscars.

Filmed over 17 years, this 29-minute feature follows Jay Rosenblatts journey to capture how much his daughter changes over the course of her young life. Asking the same questions on her birthday, on camera, every year for 17
years, he documents her growth from a toddler to a young woman capturing all the beautiful and awkward stages in between.

Now available to stream on Max.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (June 30)

    Date:
    Fri, 30 Jun 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From returning fantasy adventures to pulse-racing thriller series, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

This years latest headline-grabbing blockbuster, Indiana Jones and the Dial
of Destiny , is now playing in theaters and IMAX worldwide, but if you arent heading out to watch Harrison Ford don his famous fedora for one last hurrah, the likes of Netflix , Max and Prime Video have plenty to keep you
entertained from the comfort of your own home.

Leading the charge this weekend is The Witcher season 3 volume 1 otherwise known as the first half of Henry Cavills final turn as famed monster hunter Geralt of Rivia which is joined on Netflix by new star-studded animated adventure Nimona .

Disney Plus , Apple TV Plus , Max and Prime Video subscribers have several new movies and TV shows to pick from, too, and below, weve rounded up seven
of the biggest. The Witcher season 3 volume 1 (Netflix)

The first five episodes of Henry Cavills The Witcher swansong are now streaming on Netflix.

The Witcher season 3 volume 1 finds Geralt determined to protect Ciri of Cintra from the various and nefarious monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent. However, as Netflix notes, the pair soon become embroiled in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. Standard The Witcher fare, then.

In our The Witcher season 3 volume 1 review , we said the shows new episodes give Cavills Geralt a grander, more expansive and emotional arc, while also suffering from the same glaring errors that plagued [ The Witcher season 2]. That said, this fantasy-fueled adventure still remains one of the best
    Netflix shows ever.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Hijack (Apple TV Plus)

Stone cold action hero Idris Elba returns to his skull-crushing ways this weekend in Hijack on Apple TV Plus.

This seven-episode thriller which unfolds, like 24 before it, in real time stars Elba as Sam Nelson, a hard-nosed business negotiator who finds himself caught up in a plane hijacking during a seven-hour trip from Dubai to London.

Sure, that premise sounds suitably generic, but critics have hailed the new series as beautifully daft and preposterously cool. Oh, and Apple TV Plus subscribers cant get enough of Hijack , either.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season 4 (Prime Video)

The fourth and final season of one of the best Prime video shows , Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan , begins streaming this weekend.

Cue generic spy thriller synopsis: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season 4 finds
Jack Ryan on his most dangerous mission yet. As he investigates internal corruption, Jack discovers the convergence of a drug cartel with a terrorist organization, ultimately revealing a conspiracy much closer to home. Yes, you probably have heard all that before.

Jokes aside, the final outing for John Krasinskis titular hero has earned reasonably positive reviews from critics, so existing franchise fans will likely find plenty of familiar thrills to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Warrior season 3 (Max)

Former Cinemax series Warrior gets its first new episodes since 2020 this weekend with the arrival of the shows third season.

New episodes of this underrated series which is set in San Francisco during the 1870s find martial arts maestro Ah Sahm grappling with the aftermath of race riots that upended Chinatown at the end of season 2.

The first three episodes of Warrior season 3 are now available to stream on Max, with the remaining seven installments set to arrive weekly every Thursday. Theres been no confirmation of the shows season 3 release date in the UK just yet.

Now available to stream on Max. Nimona (Netflix)

If Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse got you in the mood for some more
stylish animated adventures, look no further than Nimona on Netflix.

This feature-length adaptation of the award-winning graphic novel by ND Stevenson follows the titular Nimona, a teenager with the power to shapeshift who is targeted by an embattled knight for assassination. Chlo Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed, Frances Conroy and RuPaul are among the film's voice cast.

Critics have heaped praise upon Nimona s storytelling, art style and humor, which bodes well for its chances of making it onto our list of the best Netflix movies .

Now available to stream on Netflix. Is It Cake, Too? (Netflix)

Netflix's completely insane cake-making (or faking?) reality series, Is It Cake? , returns for a second season this weekend.

Across eight new episodes, a brand new lineup of contestants and judges will be confronted with the task of discerning, say, a real hamburger from a hamburger made entirely of cake which, if youve ever watched this show before, is easier said than done.

Available to stream on Netflix. Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian The Making of Season 3 (Disney Plus)

This weeks documentary pick is Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian
The Making of Season 3 , which might be the most unnecessarily long show
    title in history.

As you mightve guessed, this feature-length production goes behind the scenes of The Mandalorian season 3, combining talking heads and archival footage to deliver another deep dive into one of Disney's most valuable contemporary properties.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve been spoiled for choice when it comes to new movies and TV shows to
enjoy on streamers recently, but this weekend sees that hot streak come to an end.

Thats not to say theres nothing good to watch over the next few days, but the usual headline-grabbing franchise fodder think The Witcher , Secret Invasion , Black Mirror and so on makes way for a handful of original productions
that may or may not be worthy of your time.

In any case, weve done our best to round up the seven biggest new movies and TV shows to watch on the likes of Netflix , Max and Prime Video over the next few days. And if these don't take your fancy, we can recommend more legal thrillers like The Lincoln Lawyer , or g reat music documentary alternatives to WHAM! on Netflix . The Out-Laws (Netflix)

The Netflix original movie train continues to plod along in earnest this weekend with the arrival of The Out-Laws .

This new action-comedy from The Wrong Missy director Tyler Spindel stars Adam Devine as a soon-to-be-married bank manager who begins to suspect that his soon-to-be-in-laws may be the infamous bank robbers who just held up his bank.

Ellen Barkin, Pierce Brosnan and Nina Dobrev also star in The Out-Laws ,

Now available to stream on Prime Video. The Lincoln Lawyer season 2
    (Netflix)

The first half of The Lincoln Lawyer s follow-up season is now streaming on Netflix.

and why sharks attack humans (spoiler: they rarely do), combining insight
from marine biologists and of course incredible footage of the oceans most fearsome predators.

Youll find plenty more Sharkfest content to sink your teeth into (Ill see myself out) over the coming days, too, so stay glued to Disney Plus if youre into that sort of thing.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. Shaun White: The Last Run (Max)

Snowsport fans, this ones for you the latest HBO-produced docuseries to hit Max is Shaun White: The Last Run .

The last of this weeks documentary picks is WHAM! on Netflix, which charts

If youre familiar with 2018s Sandra Bullock-starring thriller Bird Box , it wont come as a surprise to learn that Bird Box Barcelona tells a similar post-apocalyptic story in a decidedly different setting.

This Spanish-language feature stars Mario Casas and Naila Schuberth as a father-daughter duo who must navigate the desolate streets of Barcelona while avoiding eye contact with a mysterious extraterrestrial force.

So, yes, thats pretty much the same synopsis as Netflixs 2018 hit, and unsurprisingly critics have leveled the same criticisms towards this international spin-off: Less a horror film, more an extended round of blind mans buff. Still, if thats what youre into

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (June 23)

    Date:
    Fri, 23 Jun 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From long-awaited Marvel thrillers to returning kitchen dramas, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

This weekend sees yet another slew of headline-grabbing new movies and TV shows make their way onto Netflix , Max , Prime Video and more.

Weve already been treated to the likes of Extraction 2 and Black Mirror
season 6 this month, and the next few days welcomes two highly-anticipated projects to Disney Plus : new Marvel TV show Secret Invasion and the second installment of critically-acclaimed kitchen drama The Bear .

Subscribers to Paramount Plus , Netflix, Max and Prime Video have plenty of new streaming options to peruse, too, and below, weve rounded up the biggest of the lot to help you decide what to watch. Secret Invasion (Disney Plus)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) adds yet another string to its bow this weekend with the arrival of Secret Invasion on Disney Plus aka the first Marvel Phase 5 TV show.

In this six-episode series, Samuel L. Jacksons Nick Fury is tasked with preventing an impending invasion of Earth by a ruthless faction of Skrulls, a shapeshifting alien race. MCU veterans Martin Freeman and Don Cheadle are among the shows supporting cast, while franchise newcomers include Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman.

We described the series as a stylishly mature Marvel TV show that falls short of being a true masterpiece in our Secret Invasion review , which bodes well for its chances of ranking among the best Disney Plus shows of 2023.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. The Bear season 2 (Hulu, Disney
    Plus)

Low-budget kitchen drama The Bear took the internet by storm in 2022, and the award-winning series returns for its second season this weekend exactly one year after its Hulu debut.

Now streaming in its entirety on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK,
The Bear season 2 finds Carmey (Jeremy Allen White) and the gang attempting
to open a new, higher-end restaurant in downtown Chicago a challenge that brings its own unique obstacles.

Molly Gordon and Bob Odenkirk are among the new faces joining the cast of The Bear season 2, which critics have described as TV at its blistering,
brilliant best. You wont want to miss this one.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK. And
Just Like That season 2 (Max)

Also returning for its second season this weekend is Sex and the City
spin-off And Just Like That on Max.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and the rest of the shows core cast reprise their roles for more Manhattan hijinks in season 2, while new episodes will also feature the return of John Corbett's Aidan. Kim Cattrall will return as Samantha, too, though only for a brief cameo appearance at the end of the season.

The first two episodes of And Just Like That season 2 are now available to stream on Max in the US and Sky/NOW in the UK, with the shows nine remaining entries set to arrive weekly every Thursday through August 24.

Now available to stream on Max in the US and Sky/NOW in the UK. I'm a Virgo (Prime Video)

Sorry to Bother You director Boots Riley makes his small screen debut this weekend with new absurdist comedy series Im a Virgo on Prime Video.

Starring Emmy-award winner Jharrel Jerome ( When They See Us ), Im a Virgo follows the life and misadventures of Cootie, a 19-year-old, Oakland-dwelling Black man who also happens to be 13 feet tall. Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Brett Gray, Kara Young, Olivia Washington and Allius Barnes count among the shows supporting cast.

Riley himself directs all seven episodes of Im a Virgo , which critics have described as a glorious coming-of-age tale [that] sucks you in like almost no other TV show. In other words, this could be one of the best Prime Video series of 2023.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Glamorous (Netflix)

Perhaps the reason Kim Cattral will only be making a cameo appearance in And Just Like That season 2 is because shes spent most of the past year filming new Netflix dramedy Glamorous .

This 10-episode series follows Marco (played by YouTuber Miss Benny), a
gender non-conforming queer man (as Netflix describes them) who lands their dream job working alongside beauty mogul Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). Think Ugly Betty meets The Devil Wears Prada .

Critics havent exactly warmed to Glamorous , describing the show as a pale imitation and a missed opportunity, but it looks like a fun time, at least.

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Gold (Paramount Plus)

Having originally aired on BBC One in the UK back in February, British crime drama The Gold makes its overseas debut on Paramount Plus this Sunday.

This six-episode series recounts the true story and aftermath of the 1984 Brink's-Mat robbery, which saw 26 million-worth of gold bullion stolen from a security depot near Heathrow airport. At the time, it was the largest robbery in history.

British critics called The Gold a 24-carat drama about one of the UKs most shocking robberies earlier this year, suggesting it could be one of the best Paramount Plus series to debut on the streamer so far.

Available to stream on Paramount Plus from Sunday. Break Point (Netflix)

This weeks documentary pick is actually the second half of a sports
docuseries Break Point that began airing on Netflix back in January.

Hailing from the same producers as Drive to Survive , this fly-on-the-wall show gives viewers a rare insight into the highs and lows of the tennis
world, featuring commentary from players including Nick Kyrgios, Taylor
    Fritz, and Ons Jabeur.

Critics hailed Break Point as riveting almost from the first point back in January, so Netflix will be hoping that the remainder of its newest court drama continues in the same vein.

Now available to stream on Netflix.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (June 9)

    Date:
    Fri, 09 Jun 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From mind-bending Apple TV Plus thrillers to returning Netflix comedy series, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

If you aren't heading out to catch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters this weekend, the likes of Netflix , Prime Video and Max have plenty to keep you entertained from the comfort of your own home.

Headlining the latest crop of arrivals is The Crowded Room on Apple TV Plus , a new psychological thriller series led by Marvel movie star Tom Holland. Elsewhere, new Kaley Cuoco drama Based on a True Story lands on Peacock , while the perennial It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia begins its sixteenth (sixteenth!) season on Hulu .

Below, weve rounded up seven of the biggest new movies and TV shows to watch this June weekend. The Crowded Room (Apple TV Plus)

Tom Holland swaps the glamor of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the
pressure of the interrogation room in Apple TV Plus new detective drama The Crowded Room .

Loosely inspired by Daniel Keyes' 1981 non-fiction book The Minds of Billy Milligan , this 10-episode series which comes from A Beautiful Mind writer Akiva Goldsman follows the questioning of a seemingly harmless young man (Holland) who is arrested for a shocking crime in 1979 Manhattan.

Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum and Jason Isaacs also star in The Crowded Room , which critics have criticized for its pacing but praised for its ultimate pay-off. Might this be one of the best Apple TV Plus shows of 2023? Youll
have to watch to find out.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus worldwide. Based on a True Story (Peacock)

The Flight Attendant star Kaley Cuoco joins forces with The Boys producer Craig Rosenberg this weekend in Based on a True Story on Peacock.

Based on you guessed it! a true story, this darkly comedic thriller follows a realtor, a former tennis star and a plumber as they attempt to capitalize
on America's obsession with true crime after a grisly LA murder. Chris Messina, Tom Bateman and Stranger Things alumnus Natalia Dyer also star.

Review verdicts for Based on a True Story have ranged from wickedly twisting to forgettable, so wed suggest giving the show a try for yourself if youre into murder mystery satires.

Now available to stream on Peacock. Flamin' Hot (Hulu, Disney Plus)

Premiering simultaneously on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus worldwide this weekend is Flamin' Hot , directed by veteran TV actress and producer (of John Wick , among others) Eva Longoria.

This true-snack drama tells the story of Richard Montaez (Jesse Garcia), a janitor at a Frito-Lay factory who dreams up a wild new snack concept: Flamin Hot Cheetos. But is 1990s America ready for spicy chips? If you walk into a convenience store right now, youll know the answer.

Critics have called Flamin' Hot a charming and funny rags-to-riches story, though its worth noting that the accuracy of Montaezs tale has been hotly (sorry) disputed.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus worldwide. The
    Lake season 2 (Prime Video)

Prime Videos under-the-radar comedy series The Lake returns for a second outing on the streamer this weekend.

Once again led by 10 Things I Hate About You star Julia Stiles, this
follow-up season picks up directly after the events of the shows season 1 finale, which saw (spoilers!) the family boathouse catch fire, Justin and Riley come to blows and Maisy-Mays mother return to town.

All eight episodes of The Lake season 2 are available to stream now on Prime Video.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 16 (Hulu)

The record-setting sixteenth season of mega-popular sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is now available to stream on Hulu in the US.

The usual crew of Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito all feature in the shows new episodes, which will also play host to high-profile guest stars including Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

New episodes of It's Always Sunny season 16 will debut on Hulu weekly every Thursday, though we dont yet know when the series will become available to stream in the UK. Historically, the show has premiered on Netflix UK only a few weeks after debuting in the US, but Disney Plus may have secured the rights to premiere season 16 overseas this time around.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US. Burden of Proof (Max)

The first of this weeks two documentary picks is Burden of Proof on Max.

This four-part true-crime series which is now streaming in its entirety chronicles Stephen Mandos decades-long search to find out what happened to
his sister after she went missing as a 15-year-old teenager in 1987. As HBO notes, Stephens investigation into the case threatens to destroy his family
as he becomes strongly convinced that his parents are both implicated in the crime. Talk about plot twist!

Now available to stream on Max in the US. Arnold (Netflix)

If last months FUBAR series left you with a taste for more Arnie content,
then look no further than Arnold on Netflix.

This three-part documentary series takes a microscope to the life and legacy of Arnold Schwarzenegger, charting the Hollywood icons journey from rural Austria to bodybuilding star to action hero to political player. Combining never-before-seen footage with commentary from Arnie himself, Arnold lays
bare the turbulence of the actors family life and celebrates his myriad successes.

Now available to stream on Netflix worldwide.

    Date:
    Fri, 21 Jul 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From supernatural murder mysteries to gripping sports documentaries, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Lets cut to the chase, its an absolutely huge weekend for entertainment. Two of this years biggest blockbusters Barbie and Oppenheimer are now playing
in theaters and IMAX worldwide, with Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One also entering its second weekend on the silver screen.

If you arent heading out to watch Margot Robbie roller skate through Los Angeles or Cillian Murphy ponder the end of the world, then the likes of Netflix, Max and Prime Video have a handful of on-demand options to keep you entertained from the comfort of your own home although this weeks selection is understandably weaker than usual.

Below, weve rounded up the seven biggest new movies and TV shows to stream this weekend from They Cloned Tyrone to The Deepest Breath . They Cloned Tyrone (Netflix)

This weekends headline-grabbing arrival is They Cloned Tyrone on Netflix, which was originally slated to hit the streamer back in December.

This multi-genre mystery caper from the minds of Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier stars John Boyega, Jamie Foxx and Teyonah Parris as an unlikely trio whose discovery in the Glen, a fictional US town, unearths a nefarious government conspiracy.

In an exclusive interview with TechRadar , Boyega told us that They Cloned Tyrone is a film that offers a perfect balance between so many things. The star also talked us through the movies shocking ending , so check back here once youre done watching this new Netflix movie .

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Flash (Prime Video, Apple TV Plus)

Okay okay, DCs The Flash isnt technically available to stream for free this weekend it only came out a week ago! but the new superhero film is already available to purchase on VOD (video-on-demand) services like Prime Video and Apple TV Plus .

This controversy-laden picture finds Ezra Millers Barry Allen (aka The Flash) teaming up with various versions of Batman to thwart a familiar Kryptonian enemy who emerges from the past. Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle and Michael Shannon all star.

The Flash has been the subject of negative press for various reasons
perhaps explaining why Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is making the film available to stream so soon but this is still an action-packed superhero movie that has plenty to offer existing DC fans.

Now available to purchase on Prime Video and Apple TV Plus. Special Ops: Lioness (Paramount Plus)

Jumping back into this weeks subscription-based content, Special Ops: Lioness
the latest series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is now streaming on Paramount Plus .

This eight-episode, based-on-true-events, military thriller stars Zoe Saldaa as a CIA station chief who recruits a young Marine (Laysla De Oliveira) to infiltrate a dangerous terrorist organization. Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly and Dave Annable are among the shows supporting cast.

Critics have described Special Ops: Lioness as an engrossing tale that entwines action and personal drama, which suggests it could be one of this years best Paramount Plus shows .

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus. Justified: City Primeval (Hulu)

Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as US Marshal Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval , a miniseries sequel to FX's acclaimed Elmore Leonard-inspired series Justified .

Adapted from Leonard's novel of the same name but altered to make Givens the main character this eight-episode series picks up eight years after the events of Justified , with Givens now living in Miami with his teenage daughter (played by Olyphants real-life daughter Vivian Olyphant). Things
take a turn for the dangerous, though, when Givens becomes involved with a violent criminal known as The Oklahoma Wildman.

The first two episodes of Justified: City Primeval are now available to
stream on Hulu in the US, with the remaining six entries arriving every Tuesday through August 29. UK viewers will have to wait until September to catch this one on Disney Plus.

Now available to stream on Hulu. The Deepest Breath (Netflix)

The first of three documentary picks this week is The Deepest Breath on Netflix.

A collaboration between A24 and Netflix, this feature-length film from Irish filmmaker Laura McGann focuses on the extreme world of freediving. Specifically, it follows Italian champion Alessia Zecchini and her Irish safety diver (and romantic partner) Stephen Keenan as Zecchini prepares for
an attempt at navigating an 85-foot-long tunnel located over 180 feet below the Red Sea. Yikes.

Reviewers have described The Deepest Breath as harrowing and beautiful, so this could be one of 2023s very best Netflix documentaries .

Now available to stream on Netflix. Stephen Curry: Underrated (Apple TV
    Plus)

Sports fans (or more specifically, basketball fans), listen up: Stephen
Curry: Underrated is now streaming on Apple TV Plus.

This feature-length documentary from renowned non-fiction filmmaker Peter Nicks charts the life and legacy of four-time NBA champion Steph Curry.

Remember HQ Trivia? Of course you do. But do you know the Shakespearean backstory behind its collapse? No? Enter Glitch: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia on Max.

As its title suggests, this CNN-produced documentary chronicles the rapid
rise and subsequent demise of mobile trivia app HQ Trivia, which once counted 2.3 million people among its regular player base before falling victim to technical issues and boardroom politics.

Now available to stream on Max.

    Date:
    Fri, 18 Aug 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From brand new action thrillers to gripping courtroom documentaries, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve been spoiled for choice when it comes to new movies and TV shows to
enjoy over the last few weeks, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 , Asteroid City and Heart of Stone all arriving on different streaming platforms within days of each other.

Unfortunately, that hot streak comes to an end this weekend. There are still plenty of new movies and TV shows to pick from, mind, but when the headline act is Harlan Coben's Shelter on Prime Video, the drop-off in quality is abundantly clear.

In any case, weve rounded up the biggest of the lot below, with options for Netflix, Max , Prime Video and more. Harlan Coben's Shelter (Prime Video)

Attention, Dads everywhere: the latest Harlan Coben novel adaptation, Harlan Coben's Shelter , is now streaming on Prime Video.

This eight-episode thriller series which is actually based on the first of Cobens young adult novels follows Mickey, a disgruntled teenager with a dead father, an annoying aunt and a mother in rehab. But when a strange old woman tells Mickey that his father is not, in fact, dead, things take a turn for
    the mysterious.

Critics have described Harlan Coben's Shelter as a twisty thriller [thats as] charming as The Goonies , which suggests it goes against the usual Coben
mold. The shows first three episodes are available to stream now, with the remaining five installments arriving weekly every Friday.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Depp v. Heard (Netflix)

If (somehow) you managed to miss the hysteria surrounding last year's defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Netflix is here to enlighten you.

Depp v. Heard recounts the infamous trial from its beginning to end, paying particular attention to the ways in which social media and TikTok, in particular warped the publics perception of events and the individuals involved.

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Winter King (MGM Plus)

If youre keen to get your Game of Thrones fix before House of the Dragon returns at some point, then The Winter King on MGM Plus could be for you.

This 10-episode series adapted from Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles book series retells the legendary story of King Arthur (played here by
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Iain De Caestecke), whose rise from warrior to royalty in Post-Roman Dark Age Britain was fraught with intrigue and
    betrayal.

Eddie Marsan, Ellie James, Stuart Campbell and Jordan Alexandra also star in The Winter King , which is coming to ITVX in the UK towards the end of 2023.

Now available to stream on MGM Plus. Babylon 5: The Road Home (Apple TV
    Plus, Prime Video)

Technically, Babylon 5: The Road Hom e isnt free to stream this weekend rather its available to purchase on video-on-demand (VOD) services like Apple TV Plus and Prime Video but we thought it was worth mentioning in this weeks roundup nonetheless.

A straight-to-video animated sequel to the cult 1990s sci-fi series, Babylon 5: The Road Hom e comes from original showrunner J. Michael Straczynski, features much of the original cast, and charts fan-favorite character John Sheridans journey through multiple timelines and alternate realities. Basically, its Spider-Man: No Way Home for Babylon 5 .

Critics have described Babylon 5: The Road Hom e as unabashedly sentimental, romantic, and a bit corny at times, which is all you can ask for from a film like this one.

Now available to stream on VOD services. Puppy Love (Amazon Freevee)

Okay, folks this is where the quality starts to dip. Puppy Love (cringe!) is now streaming on Amazon Freevee.

Well just take Amazons own synopsis for this one: After a disastrous first date, wild child Nicole (Lucy Hale) and socially anxious Max (Grant Gustin) vow to lose each others numbers, until they learn that their dogs found a
love match, and now puppies are on the way! The hilariously mismatched Nicole and Max are forced to become responsible co-parents, but may end up finding love themselves.

Admittedly, if youre after an easy watch this weekend, Puppy Love may be the perfect tonic but dont expect The Godfather -level storytelling here.

Now available to stream on Amazon Freevee. At Home With the Furys (Netflix)

Another less-than-compelling streaming option this weekend is At Home With
    the Furys on Netflix.

This nine-episode docuseries follows heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury as he attempts to navigate retirement, his mental health and hectic family life alongside wife Paris, brother Tommy and soon-to-be
    daughter-in-law Molly Mae Hague.

Fury himself allegedly wanted to cancel At Home With the Furys just weeks
into filming, which bodes well for its quality (not). Still, longtime Fury fans may still find tidbits to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Tracy Morgan: Takin' It Too Far (Max)

Max has been turning out a steady stream of stand-up specials in recent months, and the latest US comedian to enter the streamers library is Tracy Morgan.

Taped live in front of an audience at the Wilbur Theater in Boston, Tracy Morgan: Takin' It Too Far finds the two-time Emmy-nominated actor tackling subjects including his dysfunctional family, dating in his fifties, and his less-than-successful attempts to reverse gentrification in Brooklyn.

Now available to stream on Max.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (September 1)

    Description:
From brand new live-action anime adventures to returning fantasy series, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Summer is officially over, but streaming services wait for no one. In fact,
to help alleviate your autumn blues, the likes of Netflix, Max and Prime
Video have seen fit to offer up plenty of new movies and TV shows to enjoy this weekend.

Headlining the new arrivals is One Piece on Netflix, which marks the latest
in a long line of small screen adaptations based on Eiichiro Oda's wildly popular manga series. Prime Video subscribers have a new fantasy adventure to enjoy this September, too, in the form of The Wheel of Time season 2 .

Below, we detail these and five more new movies and TV shows to stream on Netflix, Max , Prime Video and more this weekend. One Piece (Netflix)

Attention, anime fans: One Piece which is often referred to as a member of 'the Big Three' animes is now streaming on Netflix in live-action form.

This English-language adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's seminal manga series follows a group of young pirates led by Monkey D. Luffy (Iaki Godoy) as
they embark on a quest for the ultimate treasure in a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands.

Critics have described One Piece as the fun, quirky adaptation that [series] fans and newbies alike deserve, which suggests that it could soon earn a
place on our list of the best Netflix shows . Still not convinced? Allow us
to break down why Netflix's One Piece is the show you have to try this week .

Now available to stream on Netflix. The Wheel of Time season 2 (Prime Video)

One of the best Prime Video shows , The Wheel of Time , returns for its
highly anticipated second season this weekend.

New episodes of the acclaimed fantasy drama pull from the second and third novels in Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time series thats The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn with humble farm boy Rand alThor (Josha Stradowski) now fully aware of his destiny as a world-saving messiah. But although Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One at the end of season 1, new threats emerge to endanger Jordans fantastical world.

In our The Wheel of Time season 2 review , we said the new season feels more self-assured than its forebear but remains ultimately troubled by egregious plot pacing and other stumbling blocks. That said, returning series fans will likely find plenty of magical mayhem to enjoy.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Power Book IV: Force season 2
    (Starz, Prime Video)

If youre a little confused about just how many seasons of Power there have been since the series 2014 debut, youre not alone but we can at least tell you that Power Book IV: Force season 2 is now streaming on Starz in the US
and Prime Video in the UK.

This follow-up season to the spin-off of Courtney A. Kems popular crime drama (do we have that right?) keeps the focus on Tommy Egan, whose mission to avenge the death of Liliana puts him in yet more hot water with Chicagos drug lords and the FBI.

The first episode of Power Book IV: Force season 2 is available to stream
now, with the remaining nine installments due to arrive weekly every Friday through October 20, 2023.

Now available to stream on Starz in the US and Prime Video in the UK. Disenchantment season 5 (Netflix)

Netflix's popular animated fantasy series, Disenchantment , bows out with its fifth and final season this weekend.

New episodes of the Matt Groening-created sitcom will continue (and, presumably, tie up) the stories of Bean, Elfo, Luci and the rest of the Dreamland gang, with the stakes as high as ever, according to Netflixs official synopsis.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Archer season 14 (Hulu)

Another adult animated series thats bowing out with a bang this weekend is Archer , whose fourteenth (fourteenth!) season is now streaming on Hulu.

This final outing for the beloved FX comedy show finds Sterling Archer (H.
Jon Benjamin) and his equally dysfunctional International Secret Intelligence Service colleagues on a mission to make money while also saving the world (because why cant spies do both?).

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (September 29)

    Date:
    Fri, 29 Sep 2023 14:00:00 +0000

    Description:
From highly anticipated superhero spin-offs to new Netflix thrillers, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

September has proven a relatively quiet month for big-name theatrical releases, but the likes of Netflix , Max and Prime Video continue to plug the gap with new movies and TV shows to stream this weekend.

Leading the charge is Gen V on Prime Video, which further expands the canon
of Amazons The Boys series by taking place in the same universe (and time period) as The Boys season 4 . Reptile , Django and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar also debut on Netflix this week, with the latter marking the
first of four Wes Anderson-directed short films heading to the streamer in
    the coming days.

Below, youll find our pick of the best new movies and TV shows to stream on Netflix, Prime Video, Max and more this weekend. Gen V (Prime Video)

Gen V, Amazons second The Boys spin-off after last years animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, begins streaming on Prime Video this week.

Set alongside the events of The Boys season 4 which is now well into its post-production phase Gen V explores the lives of hormonal (read: teenage) Supes who are competing for the top ranking at Americas only college for
young adult superheroes. Jensen Ackles and Chace Crawford reprise their roles from the main series, but Gen V also introduces plenty of new foul-mouthed faces including Patrick Schwarzenegger and Lizze Broadway.

In our Gen V review, we said that the show brings The Hunger Games and
Murder, She Wrote to The Boys universe [in a way that] works superbly, so expect this one to make our list of the best Prime Video series very soon.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (Netflix)

The first of four Wes Anderson-directed, Roald Dahl-inspired short films headed to Netflix this week is The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar .

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Dahls miserly bachelor Henry Sugar, this 40-minute production follows the titular characters quest to master an extraordinary skill in order to cheat at gambling games. Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Rupert Friend, Ben Kingsley and Richard Ayoade count among the films stacked supporting cast.

The second and third of Andersons new Dahl adaptations, The Swan and The Ratcatcher , are also now streaming on Netflix, with the third, Poison , set to premiere on September 30. Fans of The Grand Budapest Hotel and Fantastic Mr. Fox wont want to miss these.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Reptile (Netflix)

Murder mystery fans, listen up: Reptile , a gritty new thriller starring Benecio Del Toro, is now streaming on Netflix.

This Grant Singer-directed movie follows a small-town New England detective (played by Del Toro) whose investigation into the brutal murder of a young real estate agent begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life. Justin Timberlake and Alicia Silverstone also star.

Unfortunately, despite its intriguing premise, Reptile has been slammed by critics, so weve taken the liberty of recommending three Netflix thrillers to watch instead .

Now available to stream on Netflix. Flora and Son (Apple TV Plus)

Music-based movies are few and far between these days, so props to Apple for bringing us Flora and Son on Apple TV Plus this weekend.

This Ireland-set tale from Sing Street director John Carney follows Flora (Eve Hewson), a young mother who seeks out guitar lessons from a Los Angeles-based teached (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in a bid to connect with her 14-year-old son.

Critics have described Flora and Son as a sweary, big-hearted musical comedy drama, suggesting it could be among the best Apple TV Plus movies of 2023.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. Django (Netflix)

Having already aired in much of the world earlier this year, Django comes to Netflix in the US this weekend.

Loosely based on the cult movie by Sergio Corbucci, this French and Italian-produced (but English-language) series tells the story of a man seeking revenge who ends up fighting for something greater.

Matthias Schoenaerts, Noomi Rapace and Nicholas Pinnock all star in Django , which critics labeled as defiantly gruesome western following its premiere in March 2023.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Who Killed Jill Dando? (Netflix)

The first of this weeks two documentary picks is Who Killed Jill Dando? on Netflix.

This feature-length production delves deep into the murder of British broadcasting legend Jill Dando, who, in 1999, was killed by a single bullet, on her doorstep, in broad daylight. Across three parts and in typical
Netflix style Who Killed Jill Dando? pieces together the mystery using insight from friends, family, journalists, investigators and lawyers.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Savior Complex (Max)

If youre after another unsettling documentary story this weekend, look no further than Savior Complex on Max.

This three-party docuseries examines the case of Renee Bach, a young American missionary accused of causing the death of vulnerable Ugandan children by dangerously treating them despite having no medical training.

Critics have described Savior Complex as a fascinating melting pot of colonialism, charity, outrage, class, race, privilege and naivete, so this is bound to be an interesting watch for those who can stomach its harrowing reality.

Now available to stream on Max.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more this weekend (October 6)

    Fri, 06 Oct 2023 14:20:00 +0000

    Description:
From returning Marvel series to new Prime Video thrillers, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Were big fans of original movies and TV shows here at TechRadar, but were
also happy to see that this weekend marks the return of three popular series on three different streamers: Loki on Disney Plus, Lupin on Netflix and Our Flag Means Death on Max .

Halloween is fast approaching, too, and horror fans can get in the mood for spooky season with either Totally Killer on Prime Video or Haunted Mansion Disney Plus , which makes its debuts on the streamer after releasing in theaters back in August.

Below, youll find our pick of the best new movies and TV shows to stream on Netflix, Prime Video, Max and more this weekend. Loki season 2 (Disney Plus)

Everyones favorite superpowered trickster returns to universe-hopping action this weekend in Loki season 2 on Disney Plus.

Given the downright mind-bending events of Loki s (excellent) first season, its probably best that we simply relay Marvels own plot synopsis for season
2: "Loki season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale
when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose."

So, Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Wunmi Mosaku all reprise their roles for Lokis second season, which we described in our Loki season 2 review as a a spellbinding and subversively clever sequel to Marvels best Disney Plus show
    . Get watching, Marvel fans.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. The Haunted Mansion (Disney Plus)

Having debuted in theaters earlier this year to surprisingly lackluster fanfare, Disneys star-studded Haunted Mansion remake hits Disney Plus this weekend.

Once again based on the titular theme park attraction, the film centers on a mother and son, Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and Travis (Chase W. Dillon), who discover that their new New York home is haunted by a variety of ghosts. Enlisting the help of astrophysicist Ben (LaKeith Stanfield), the trio set
out to exorcize their supernatural guests.

Despite (or perhaps because of) the beloved nature of its source material, critics didnt particularly warm to the Haunted Mansion , but fans of the 2003 original will surely find some degree of nostalgia to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus. Our Flag Means Death season 2 (Max)

HBOs critically-acclaimed (and highly subversive) pirate series, Our Flag Means Death , returns for its second season on Max this weekend.

New episodes find captain Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) determined to find his former lover, Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi), whose heartbreak has caused him to revisit his old, violent ways. Minnie Driver and Bronson Pinchot are among the shows new cast members.

The first three episodes of Our Flag Means Death season 2 are now available
to stream on Max in the US, with the remaining six entries due to arrive in pairs every Thursday through October 26. UK viewers will have to wait for the shows (presumed) return on BBC iPlayer in the coming months.

Now available to stream on Max. Lupin season 3 (Netflix)

Gentleman thief Assane Diop returns to his looting ways in Lupin season 3, which is now streaming on Netflix.

New episodes find Diop (Omar Sy) in hiding after he was framed for murder at the end of Lupin season 2, but upon returning to Paris in a bid to help his son Raoul (Etan Simon) and ex Claire (Ludivine Sagnier), his anonymity doesnt last long

Critics have described Lupin season 3 as old-fashioned fun with Bond thrills and Gallic charm, so existing series fans will surely find plenty of heist-related hijinks to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Totally Killer (Prime Video)

Horror fans, this ones for you: Totally Killer , a new Blumhouse-produced slasher comedy, is now streaming on Prime Video.

Set in both the present day and 1987, Totally Killer centers on an unsuspecting 17-year-old, Jamie (Kiernan Shipka), who accidentally travels back in time and comes face-to-face with an infamous masked murderer. With
the help of her teenage mother, she vows to take down the psycho once and for all.

Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, and Randall Park also star in Totally Killer ,
which critics have described as a cheap and cheerful time travel slasher.

Now available to stream on Prime Video. Fair Play (Netflix)

In the mood for an erotic thriller this weekend? Look no further than Fair Play on Netflix.

This Sundance-acquired new Netflix movie stars Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich as a newly engaged New York couple who, while working at the same high-pressure finance firm, come to blows when one of them is promoted over the other.

Despite its seemingly mundane premise, critics seemed to enjoy Fair Play , describing it as an enjoyably lurid Wall Street battle of the sexes. Suffice to say, this isnt one to watch with the kids.

Now available to stream on Netflix. Beckham (Netflix)

David Beckham gets the Michael Jordan treatment this weekend in Beckham on Netflix.

Combining never-before-seen archive footage and interviews with family and friends, this four-part docuseries charts the footballing mega-stars meteoric rise from humble beginnings to global superstardom. All four episodes are available to stream now.
