    I tgink I'm going to turn my laptop into an Ubuntu server. What shiuld I run on it? I was thinking Jellyfin minecraft server and maybe zandronum. What else should I try?

    Oh man, thats a loaded question...

    Theres just so much that you can do; how about Docker/Portainer as a base and then you can install ANYTHING on top of that.

    In fact, FOR ME, I prefer loading Proxmox as a base... having a Docker/Portainter CT and a few VMs with various GUIs so I don't miss out on anything...

    Theres just so much that you can do; how about Docker/Portainer as a base and then you can install ANYTHING on top of that.

    Ok, I'm working on a decent anime Jellyfin server... A lot of my stuff needs to be re-downloaded as I converted it to 15fps for a small streaming server
    and now have better capabilities. I lost the originals when I accidentally deleted an entire directory structure instead of removing a symlink...

    Nice - well, aside from the accidentally deleted syms and all...

    Not knowing the capabilities of the laptop/hardware, BUT with my aforementioned Proxmox suggestion, it would run as the main OS on the 'server' and you could STILL run Jellyfin, docker/portainer, etc etc etc on various CT[containers] and VMs[virtual machines] on top of PVE[proxmox].

    No matter how you build it - sounds like yer having fun. IMO, thats what homelabbing is ALL ABOUT!!
