OK, I was the guinea pig - I tried following their instructions for the new apt/sources.list.d format, but did the apt update, apt upgrade, then deleted the new entries and just changed the distro name from "bookworm" to "trixie" in sources.list and all went well.

I just noticed that - they're planning on releasing Trixie on 8/9. Odd that Proxmox would release before the underlying OS.
