• File Tossing from Networks...

From BitGuy@21:2/128 to All on Mon Aug 18 13:04:57 2025
    Hi Everyone,
I have two networks currently setup on my BBS and am trying to get everythign working corectly before adding more. I setup my networks using Nigel's videos. Once I added a second network I had to rework my mailin.ini file. The messages are flowing normally but the files are not being moved to the correct networks and are being treated as junk. below is the setup I have currently in the FileToss section. Do any of you knowlegable folks see anything wrong? Also, if I run mutil emailin.ini manually it tosses the files correctly but not when the semiphore fires on import.

    FileToss area info:

OK I think I found the issue after some experimentation...

The auto_create property has to be stand-alone above the node specific info. once I added it back above the spicific node info, it started tossing files.

Does anyone know a curated list of these properties and which ones can be used on node specific entires vs being a general property? The wiki and videos are unfortuantely not very helpful with this.

    Thanks,
    BitGuy

The default mutil.ini that comes with a new install of Mystic would probably be the best reference. My suggestion would be that if you're using custom .ini files, to copy/paste the entire stanza (or stanzas if utilizing multiple in the same file) of the default .ini to another file (for example: mailin.ini, mailout.ini filetoss.ini, etc), and edit it accordingly without changing the order.

    Nick

Thanks for your reply Nick. I do appreciate it. The issue is that the default FileToss stanza is for a single network, not multiple ones, and it does not address the issue of which properties are common and which can be node specific. Some of those properties in the default Stanza that came with Mystic can be used as node specifc properties and some cannot. I am just trying to find some guidance on that issue that the wiki, the vidoes, and mystic files overlook. :-)

    Many thanks!
    Mike

I've done exactly what Nick is proposing without issues. I've pasted the appropriate section of my filetoss.ini file for your use. Place each subsequent section at the bottom of the file. BTW, these are only 2 of the 5 networks I belong to.
