As a node, I still didn't know those new echos existed until someone mentioned them. But if there was anything in my logs saying there were unrecognized echos, I may have missed that in my logs.
Hmm OK. Yeah I favour adding nodes by default to new echos created else some on auto minus an active sysop would never even know they were there once created at the hub. I can see merits in a monthly BOT post to somewhere also promoting the echos... thing is they are in the nodelist and infopack hatched every week too :(

That is why FSX needs its own sysop area with minimum piffle so that announcements about new echoes don't get lost in the dross of every day conversation.

I know auto posts can be a drag, but it might be a good idea to post the list of echo areas once a month or so these sort of things don't slip by unnoticed!

I wonder if there's a way to periodically send an %UNLINKED areafix message to every system you're connected to? Maybe once or twice a year and if/when new echos are created.

I certainly wouldn't consider it spam. Perhaps an automated post once a month would be helpful. Seems like most sysops would notice things eventually that way. :)
