Good evening,
I was adding some message areas using SCFG today. I added one area, set it as the template, and then imported an NA file for the remainder. While it did clone nearly all of the options, one option it does not clone is the FidoNet Address. All of the areas added after the first one reverted to my default AKA (my zone 1 address) instead of using the alternate address I
had set up in the template area.
I have not updated SCFG in a while, so sorry if this has already been addressed. Let me know and I will pull and compile the new binaries. I am currently on the 3.17 release.
I tried and was not able to reproduce it: the "FidoNet Address" of the template
sub's network options was used for newly created sub-boards.
You mean v3.17b? You should probably upgrade anyway, but I don't know of any ch
nge since v3.17b that would address the issue you described.

Hmmm, I wonder what I am doing differently?

Probably. The number at the top of SCFG says 3.17. The date inside the source says 2019/01/12, and it looks like I compiled it on March 2.
That'd be *after* the v3.17b release, but in any case, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem you described. Can you provide more details or try again?

I pulled a new copy of everything and compiled it. Here are the steps I took:
Open SCFG
Set up new group - select Clone Options 'Yes'
Add one new sub-board
Set Toggle Options including "Template for New Subs = Yes"
Set Network Options - Fidonet Echomail & the non-default net address
Set Advanced Options - Static QWK number
SAVE CHANGES
Go back into new group
Import Areas from NA file
Check the options on the first imported area. All options that were saved (toggle/network/advanced) are correct except that the default
FTN net/node number are used instead of the one specified in the template area.
I have ~10 AKAs in SCFG. I used a different NA file this time (for a different network). This has happened the last 3 times I have tried it... I had never tried it before.
Open SCFG
Set up new group - select Clone Options 'Yes'
Just so you know, "Clone Options" isn't a setting, it's an action. If you only
ave one sub-board, it doesn't actually do anything.
Okay, I'm pretty sure I found and fixed the issue. Thanks for the report,

I was wondering about that... strange the things you wonder about while driving to work. :) So, if I had imported the other areas and then perfomed the Clone Options, it might have worked?

Thanks! I will pull a new copy shortly.
