    I'm from Karlsruhe, which is a little south of Heidelberg :)

    But I was born in Munich and lived quite while near Augsburg (west of
    Munich) and Tuebingen (south of Stuttgart).
    So I moved to the west over the years, but now I'll stop as I reached the border of Germany :)

    Yeah... I know... Late response! I was supposed to retire last month...
    and, long story short, I didn't. Did need to step away from the BBS desk
    for a few days.

    Yes, I know Karlsruhe. There used to be an american operated bank there
    that supported US soliers. We would do armed money tranfers from the bank
    to Heidelberg every few days.

    I had an opertunity to visit several of the large cities in Germany while there. We would sometimes drive through Augsburg on the way to Garmich for ski weekends.

    I really miss those days... Particularly the festivals... My favorite was
    the Mannheimer Messe and the lighting of the castles!
