Hi y'all,
I thought it would be good to share that I have now updated my get-syncterm script with the latest dependencies for Ubuntu 23.10+ and also while I was in the headspace I have added Arch Linux support.
My script now will download and build SyncTERM from the latest version in the SyncTERM git repo, installing any dependencies required to build first.
To inspect the script, from the linux CLI you can do this;
curl -s
https://erb.pw/get-syncterm.sh|less
To run the install script, from the linux CLI you can do this;
curl -s
https://erb.pw/get-syncterm.sh|bash
Please note that there is a new feature in SyncTERM that has been causing quite a stir "breaking" people's SSHing to BBSes, well I can confirm that the feature that needs to be disabled for each addressbook entry and the default settings is the very last setting in the list, "SFTP Public Key", this is set to "Yes" by default, but needs to be set to "No". Once you have corrected this, SSH will work again for your newly built SyncTERM.
Hope this helps =)
