    Description:
July is gonna be friggin' awesome.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

    Buckle up, Buttercup.

Because July is going to be absolutely insane here at The Lunduke Journal of Technology .

Dont get me wrong. June was a great month. macOS Sucks , Plan 9 OS Week , some great articles one heck of a nerdy, good time.

But just for the heck of it lets crank this sucker up to 11 for July. Two themed weeks (BASIC Week, and Amiga Week), plus another big show: "The Great Myths of Computer History".

And thats only the beginning. Read below for the full schedule for upcoming events beyond July (including Linux From Scratch Week, Text Adventure Week, and more). Its awesome. A little 4th of July discount.

(If you already have a subscription, scroll down to the next section for the schedule. Otherwise you want to read this.)

Youre going to want to have a full subscription to Lunduke.Locals.com to
enjoy all of that. Lets make that a little easier (and much cheaper).

Get access to all 3 sites in The Lunduke Journal family (aka Founding Member Pass) for only $65. Thats for an entire year.

But only for July 3rd and 4th. Then prices go back to normal.

The standard price for a Lunduke Journal of Technology subscription is pretty gosh-darned reasonable considering all of the articles , podcast episodes , videos , & PDFs .

Standard Price Per Site ( Tech , Nerdy Entertainment , Nerdy Politics ):

    Monthly Subscription - $5

    Yearly Subscription - $45 ($3.75 / month)

Grab one of those options, or kick it up a notch with the Founding Member Pass. All 3 sites for $65 ($1.80 / month / site) . Shoot. Thats a sweet deal.

How to get the Founding Member Pass:

    Get a free subscription at Lunduke.Locals.com .

    Go to Lunduke.Locals.com/subscription .

Select Annual and enter 65 in the Amount to give per year field.

Then, if you want full access on the Nerdy Entertainment and Nerdy Politics sites, become a Free member on each and let Lunduke know by either:

Sending Lunduke a private message on Lunduke.Locals.com or

    Emailing Lunduke at bryan@lunduke.com

Lunduke will then set up your accounts and let you know (usually only takes a few hours). Easy peasy.

Just be sure to take advantage of it before the end of July 4th. Upcoming Schedule of Awesomeness

    BASIC Week - July 5th - July 12th

A full week with a heavy emphasis on the BASIC programming language.
History, stories, variations, and interviews. From 1964 to present.
Probably more than any human being ever wanted to know about BASIC.

"The Great Myths of Computer History" - July 29th (Saturday) at 9am Central Time

The world of computing is filled to the brim with myths and legends. Some of them true. Many of them not. Lunduke spends the full hour telling you which is which guaranteed, some of this will surprise you.

This event will be live streamed and made available on demand on Lunduke.Locals.com.

    Amiga Week - July 26th - Aug 2nd

AmigaOS. MorphOS. AROS. A full week focused on the Amiga and everything Amiga-adjacent. The history and the modern day usage. The hardware, the software, emulation, and more.

Linux From Scratch Week - Aug 23rd - Aug 30th

Ever want to build a complete Linux system from scratch? Thats exactly what well be doing all week long. Join the rest of the nerds in The Lunduke Journal community as we embark on this epic quest. Because doing a challenge like this is always best with some support around.

    Windows 3.1 Week - Sep 20th - Sep 27th

Re-live the glory days of the early 1990s as we celebrate Windows 3.1. The good, the bad, & the ugly. How it came into existence, highlights from the time, and how (exactly) it can still be used (and learned from) today.

    Text Adventure Week - Oct 18th - Oct 25th

Interactive Fiction (read: text adventures like Zork) is a mainstay of computer gaming. Every year, during October, the entries for the Interactive Fiction Competition are made publicly available for judging. During Text Adventure Week, The Lunduke Journal will as a community be participating in that judging process. Want to spend a week playing text adventure games, sharing them with other nerds, and judging them? This week is for you. Oh, and well also be talking about the history of text adventures as well. Naturally.

and theres more. But thatll do for now, eh? :)

As always, a huge thank you to every one of you. None of this would be possible without your support. You are the best nerds in existence.

    -Lunduke
