If you're surprised by this decision, you're not alone. The Boroughs has performed well, receiving a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 97% after a month on the streamer. I had assumed it would come back based on this, but it appears it has not been successful enough to warrant a second outing. Cost is clearly a factor, but so is rival streaming service Paramount+ . Still, this feels like a disappointing decision, especially since Netflix recently canceled The Lincoln Lawyer, and they axed three great shows in 2025 as well.

The good news is that The Boroughs is still worth watching. You may be put
off trying it out, considering the cancellation news, but the eight episodes of season 1 deserve your love anyway. With a great cast including Bill
Pullman and Geena Davis, and an intriguing supernatural threat, it's definitely one of the best Netflix shows in recent months.
