    Description:
There are two ways to subscribe to The Lunduke Journal. There are a few differences. Which is best for you?

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

The Lunduke Journal is proudly supported entirely by readers and listeners like you. No corporate sponsorships or advertisers. Just pure nerdy, computer-y joy without any influence from Big Tech.

What that means in practical terms: No companies pushing me to write articles about High Uptime B2B Container Orchestration or other such boring topics.
No advertisements pretending to be articles. Every word in the Lunduke Journal is free from corporate influence.

In order to do that, The Lunduke Journal offers subscriptions through two (very different) services:

    Substack ( Lunduke.Substack.com )

    Locals ( Lunduke.Locals.com )

Both Substack and Locals provide the same core benefits for you (the subscribers):

Both give you the exact same Subscriber Exclusives (books, articles, games, & podcasts).

Both will alert you when new articles and shows are posted (at nearly the exact same time).

Both do a great job of supporting The Lunduke Journal, at the exact same
    price .

That said, there are a few key differences between the two services. Each comes with Pros and Cons. But both are fantastic, and both will be offered and supported by The Lunduke Journal for a long time to come. Lunduke.Substack.com

    Pros:

Articles delivered, in full, to your email inbox. Thats handy.

Article formatting is marvelous. Hard to beat. Makes reading a joy.

RSS feeds for both the articles and podcasts .

    Cons:

The community and interaction options are limited to comments on articles. Lunduke.Locals.com

    Pros:

    Stellar, unrivaled community features.

Everyone (you included) can make top-level posts.

    Private messaging with me.

Mobile app for Android and iOS with (optional) alerts.

Its kinda-sorta like Twitter mixed with a forum except with no trolls, only Lunduke Journal style content (computer nerd stuff), and all family friendly.
I hang out there every day it is a joyful place.

Live video streaming (this isnt something weve done much of, but its nice to have it available as an option going forward).

    Cons:

Article formatting is not quite as nice. Perfectly readable, but less formatting options.

No RSS feeds. So which should you choose?

    Its really up to you!

I love both Substack and Locals. For obvious reasons. They are excellent services that make publishing The Lunduke Journal an absolute joy.

If youre looking to simply read the articles or listen to the podcasts and dont plan to do much of the community interaction stuff then Lunduke.Substack.com is probably the right way to go for you.

If you want to post content, and interact with me and the rest of The Lunduke Journal community of Nerdy Super Friends Lunduke.Locals.com is the clear way to go.

Or you could go with both. Hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge . Monthly or Yearly?

Another thing to consider is if you want to do a monthly subscription, or a yearly subscription. Both are available on Locals and on Substack.

The benefit of Yearly is that itll be, overall, a good bit cheaper for you. Monthly, on the other hand, means paying less at once.

In truth, either way is wonderful. It purely is up to whichever you prefer!

So, there you go. Theres all the key differences. No matter which you choose, I owe each and every one of you hearty high five. The Lunduke
Journal simply would not be possible without all of you!

Subscribe on Lunduke.Substack.com or Subscribe on Lunduke.Locals.com .
