Today's Strands was a really tough one that I needed lots of hints for
three, to be exact. The first got me started, because I had zero idea what 'Rolling in it' referred to. That gave me MONEYED (although it took me a
while to work out what the word was even once the Strands board had highlighted it for me), but though the concept was now clear, the other words weren't.

To make matters worse, I spotted RICH fairly early on, but couldn't work out what the rest of the phrase was to (presumably) make the spangram. I eventually solved THATSRICH at the end by default, having used two further hints to uncover OPULENT and AFFLUENT.

The answers to today's Strands, game #162, are FLOSS TWERK MOONWALK VOGUE HUSTLE PIROUETTE SPANGRAM: DANCEMOVES My rating: Moderate My score: 2 hints

Expecting me to solve a puzzle about dance moves is like asking my labrador retriever to perform open-heart surgery. I'm so far out of my comfort zone I might as well be on another planet. That I still managed to find all of the answers points to this one being moderately difficult, rather than outright hard.

The key is in the spangram, because once you knew the theme was DANCEMOVES which the theme clue of 'Everybody cut footloose!' might have given away, but which a couple of answers probably will have done anyway then that spangram will have stood out. MOONWALK is also a relatively obvious one that takes up
a lot of space, and though I needed a couple of hints, I was able to get most by trial and error. I have no idea what the FLOSS is, though.

Everyone loves big cats, right? Well, apart from the prey they hunt,
probably. And I imagine everyone will love this rather easy Strands puzzle, too. My only complaint is that it's possibly too easy, because once you establish what the theme is (itself not difficult) it's really very simple to find the various answers. After all, they're all well known, plus the
spangram stands out immediately by running across the board from left to right.

The answers to today's Strands, game #176, are VOLLEY SLICE RACKET SMASH LOVE FOREHAND SERVE SPANGRAM: GRANDSLAM My rating: Easy My score: Perfect

My one criticism of today's Strands is that the spangram doesn't really sum
up the game, as it's supposed to. GRANDSLAM is indeed a tennis-related term but it's not the overall concept here. If it were, the answers would be specific to grand slam events such as Wimbledon and the US Open, but
obviously they're not they're just 'words associated with tennis'. That's a little silly, right?

Anyway, that aside this is a perfectly acceptable Strands puzzle. Even if you're not a tennis nut (I like it well enough, but I'm not one of those) you should find it fairly easy, because they're all well known terms and not horribly tough to find.
