Like so many people, I rediscovered cycling during lockdown a couple of years ago but even if I hadn't I don't think I'd have struggled with this one. The theme clue didn't do much to disguise matters and as soon as I found CHAIN I was freewheeling towards the finish line. There were no bumps in the road to worry about and I solved the whole thing in about five minutes flat.

One thing I like about Strands is the way it flits about from subject to subject without any real pattern. One day you can be tasked with finding garden ornaments, one day it's things you do in the morning, one day it's country music stars. Or, in today's case, PETERPAN.

It's a long time since I've read Peter Pan; I shared it with my daughters
when they were little, and watched a couple of the various films with them at that time. But that's a decade ago now, and I did struggle to recall all of the elements. PIRATES was easy, CROCODILE reasonably so too. But MERMAID and LAGOON well, I would have struggled to find them if not for the fact that the spangram cut the board neatly in half. I got them all in the end, but it wasn't the easiest Strands ever. Good fun, though.

I miss going on playgrounds. They should make adult playgrounds. Not serious, dangerous things involving great heights and needing to be in good physical shape, but fun playgrounds with roundabouts and slides. There's a market
here, I'm sure.

Anyway, regardless of my person feelings on the merits of the PLAYGROUND,
this was an easy Strands puzzle to solve. You only really needed to find one answer to know what the theme was, when combined with the clue of 'Park place', unless maybe that first answer was BENCHES, which is maybe a little out of place here. But all told, this is a simple one.

I can't decide if this is a really easy one and I was just not quite on my game, or if it's moderately difficult; I've gone with the latter above, because the theme clue was vague enough that I needed that one hint to get going.

That gave me CANDY, and other than a brief flirtation with the idea that it might be actors not helped by the fact that the word ACTOR could be made in the grid I was able toi find the rest fairly quickly. POPCORN was the key; once I had that it was blindingly obvious what the theme was, and I uncovered the remaining solutions swiftly after.

A surprisingly simple Strands puzzle today, with no specialist knowledge required. Well, beyond the ability to think of 'sticky things'. Not that much thought was needed anyway, with most of the words standing out relatively quickly. The task was made easier still by the fact that the spangram was so obvious, and that once you had that in place you'll have been pointed
directly towards BUBBLEGUM, which will in turn have led to EPOXY. All very straightforward.
