Stage 10 begins at the 1992 Winter Olympics host town of Albertville, and provides a relatively easy-going 190.7km route through the valleys of south-west France. That may be the calm before the Stage 11 storm, as the riders face the first ever double ascent of Mont Ventoux and one of the fastest descents of the Tour. Expect the top climbers to break away from the pack as they tackle the the savage ascent of Ventoux through the brutal
Chalet Reynard woods, before speeding back down to Malaucene a second time to finish.

The riders will get a little rest on the shorter, flatter Saint-Paul-Trois-Chteaux - Nmes route in Stage 12. Passing through the spectacular Vallon Pont dArc rock arch, the pack will head on to the only climb of the day in Cte du Belvdre de Tharaux. Then follows the final 27km, which is likely to be an all-out sprint.
