You'll also start seeing some offers crop up as early as October. The best deals often drop near Black Friday itself, but if you're after a bargain it's worth paying attention as soon as the first prices are cut on the smartwatch device you want to snag.

Last year, the trend towards earlier deals was even more pronounced thanks to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in many parts of the world. Smartwatch and other tech prices dropped in late October and stayed low into the first week of December.

According to data from Adobe Analytics , the change last year was because the pandemic accelerated the shift to online shopping, with more than a 50% increase in 2020 compared to 2019. With many brick-and-mortar stores closed, and more people than ever shopping online to stay safe - plus with restrictions causing shipping delays - it made sense for retailers to spread the deals out.

Garmin Fenix 6X Pro: $749.99 $586.98 at Amazon (save $163)

This is a turbo-charged version of the original Fenix 6X, with additional training features for runners and skiers, plus extensive golf course maps. There's no question this is still a very expensive sports watch though, so check out all your options first - the Garmin Forerunner 745 is over $100 cheaper and might well have everything you need.


Garmin Approach S10 : $149.59 $99 at Amazon (save $50)

The Approach S10 is a dedicated golf watch, and a bargain at under $100 for Black Friday. It comes pre-loaded with details of over 41,000 courses, including yardages and hazards, and allows you to keep your score and upload scorecards to Garmin Express. Samsung Galaxy Watch: $259.99 $169 at Walmart

Save $90 on the original Samsung Galaxy Watch this week at Walmart - bringing the final price down to a record low $169. That's perfect if you're after an all-in-one smartwatch and fitness tracker but don't want to shell out for the latest release. This is the 42mm model, but you'll also find the 46mm version on sale for $189 as well.

There's a $100 discount on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 as well. Its main downside at launch was its price, but with almost 100 off, that's no longer an issue. Very highly recommended.

This is a turbo-charged version of the original Fenix 6X, with additional training features for runners and skiers, plus extensive golf course maps.
The 61 price drop is fairly modest, and there's no question this is still a very expensive sports watch. The original Fenix 6 is over 100 cheaper, and gives you almost all the same features unless you're a very keen sportsperson.

This is a scaled-down version of Garmin's flagship Fenix 6, with a 42mm face that's better suited to smaller wrists.
