    Description:
From Oscar-touted dramas to festive holiday adventures, theres plenty to
    watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve been warning you all for the past few weeks, but Christmas has well and truly arrived on streamers in 2021. This weekend will see several new festive movies and TV shows landing on the likes of Netflix , HBO Max and Prime Video
but weve made a conscious effort to also highlight those that arent designed to extract every last ounce of joy from your wintery bones.

Alongside the latest holiday adventures, you can expect to enjoy Jane
Campions awards-touted The Power of the Dog and the second part of Money Heists fifth and final season over the next few days both of which are now available to stream on Netflix.

Theres plenty more great content to dig into, though, and below youll find
our pick of the best new movies and TV shows worth paying attention to this weekend. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Money Heist season 5 part 2 (Netflix)

Money Heist (or La Casa De Papel, if were being specific) returns to Netflix for the second part of its fifth and final season this weekend to bid
farewell to Spains most famous crew of bank robbers.

Speaking ahead of part ones release earlier in the year, the shows creator, lex Pina, said part 2 will focus more on the emotional situation of the characters and act as a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.

As such, its a safe bet to assume new episodes will contain more tears than tear gas, though being Money Heist, were not ruling out further explosive set-pieces, shouty soldiers and shocking deaths.

Now available to stream on Netflix The Power of the Dog (Netflix)

Its safe to say that Jane Campions The Power of the Dog has been the critical hit of the year so far and with just a few weeks to go until 2022, it
wouldnt be premature to describe this one as the best movie of 2021.

Widely praised for its slow-burning psychological drama, The Power of the Dog follows the story of a menacing rancher (Benedict Cumberbatch) who doesnt
take kindly to the arrival of his brothers new wife (Kirsten Dunst) and her son (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

To say more would hinder the films suspense, but just know that its being touted as one of the best Netflix movies to date. It helps, too, that Cumberbatch gives a career-best performance as the volatile Phil Burbank in this one which should make interesting prep for next years Doctor Strange 2
    .

Now available to stream on Netflix Harlem (Prime Video)

From the mind of Girls Trip creator Tracy Oliver comes Harlem, Prime Videos latest comedy series following the misadventures of a group of stylish and ambitious girlfriends in the eponymous New York City neighbourhood.

Megan Good, Grace Byers, Shoniqua Shandai, Jerrie Johnson and Tyler LePley star alongside guests like Whoopi Goldberg and Andrea Martin in this 10-episode first season, which looks set to reinvent the Sex and the City formula in interesting ways.

Whats more, as part of Harlems premiere, Prime Video has made a concerted effort to promote Black female entrepreneurs based in Harlem and other neighboring New York City communities, so keep your eyes peeled for
    references to real-life businesses throughout.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 15 (Hulu)

The Its Always Sunny crew return to Hulu for season 15 of the hit show this week to make it the longest-running live-action comedy series in American television history (hurdling the 1960s show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet).

This time around, The Gang stands at a crossroads in the wake of everything that went awry in 2020 so expect the likes of Covid-19, Trump and the
Epstein scandal to play a lead role in the ensuing mayhem.

The usual suspects return, with Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) primed to deliver more of the shows trademark and extremely popular brand of
    humor.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US Santa Inc (HBO Max)

Sticking with the comedy theme, Santa Inc lands on HBO Max to subvert everything you thought you knew about innocent animated Christmas adventures. In this stop-motion series, Sarah Silverman stars as a foul-mouthed elf who hopes to someday become the first female Santa Claus.

Seth Rogen offers his distinctive voice as the big man himself, while the likes of Maria Bamford, Nicholas Braun, Craig Robinson, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman also feature in this eight-episode debut season.

Santa Inc comes from the creators of Sausage Party, so if deliberately controversial gags are your calling, this one is an easy recommendation.

Now available to stream on HBO Max Alex Rider season 2 (Prime Video)

Those that watched the debut season of Alex Rider will know that the Sony-produced spy show was something of a sleeper hit in 2020. Based on the best-selling novel series by Anthony Horowitz, it followed the book one adventures of the eponymous British teenager.

Its no surprise, then, that season 2 dramatizes the events of Horowitzs
second book in the series, Eagle Strike, which sees Alex do battle against a megalomaniac intent on using nuclear weapons to destroy the drug-making countries of the world.

If that all sounds a bit silly, thats because it is, but Alex Rider will undoubtedly prove an enjoyable, care-free watch to anyone looking to scratch
a James Bond-sized itch. Season 2 is available to stream on Prime Video now via the free IMDB TV channel.

Now available to stream on Prime Video (via IMDB TV) Single All the Way (Netflix)

It wouldnt be a December streaming roundup without the inclusion of a bona fide Christmas movie, and Single All the Way looks to have more than a few festive feels up its sleeve.

In this Netflix original, frustrated singleton Peter (Michael Urie) convinces his best friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to join him for the holidays and pretend the pair are in a relationship. Why, you ask? Its all an elaborate ruse to avoid his familys judgement towards his solitary status.

Now, were not saying Single All the Way will turn out to be the most intellectually stimulating film of all time, but if youre after a heartfelt and maybe slightly trashy Christmas movie this December, look no further
    than Netflixs latest effort.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and more this weekend

    Description:
From chaotic supervillain adventures to rousing TV dramas, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Another week, another slew of new streaming arrivals. As with most round-ups we publish every Friday, the latest crop sees a noteworthy mix of movies and TV shows headlined by a big-budget studio adventure.

This weekend, its James Gunns The Suicide Squad leading the charge, which arrives on HBO Max to throw everything you thought you knew about comic book movies out the window (unless youre already well-versed in bipedal sharks shouting nom nom at every opportunity).

Elsewhere, theres a TV return for Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Apple TV Plus , an autobiography of Val Kilmer 40 years in the making on Amazon Prime Video and
a Netflix cooking show hosted by Paris Hilton?

Below, we've collated seven of the biggest movies and TV shows available to stream over the next few days. Best Netflix movies Best HBO Max movies Best Netflix shows The Suicide Squad (HBO Max)

Now showing in theatres and streaming on HBO Max for 30 days, James Gunns The Suicide Squad mixes up the well-trodden superhero formula with a stylish and chaotic take on some of DCs wackiest characters.

A sequel-but-not-sequel to David Ayers 2016 movie , Gunns new-look Task Force X throws together the familiar faces of Harley Quinn, Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang with the likes of Deadshot and King Shark to take down the impossibly huge, telepathic starfish, Starro.

If that sounds bonkers, thats because it is, but the movie has been near-universally praised for its no-holds-barred attitude and for (largely) righting the wrongs of its predecessor.

It wont be to everyones tastes, but in our book , The Suicide Squad is worth
    a watch.

Now available to stream on for 30 days HBO Max in the US Mr. Corman (Apple
    TV Plus)

Created, directed by and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt in his first major TV role since 2001, Mr. Corman follows a failed musician-turned-fifth grade teacher struggling to find meaning in his life.

It marks yet another comedy-drama series commissioned by Apple TV Plus for 2021 (arriving before The Shrink Next Door in November), and judging by our review of the show , is a fantastic return to form for Levitt and a relatable helping of TV escapism. Debra Winger, Juno Temple and Hugo Weaving also star, with the latter stealing his scenes in typical fashion.

Three of Mr. Cormans 10 episodes are available to stream today, with the rest arriving in weekly installments.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Val (Amazon Prime Video)

Its been a crazy old life for Val Kilmer. From starring in blockbusters like Top Gun, Batman Forever and Heat to battling throat cancer in his fifties,
the American actors journey to stardom has been one of many ups and downs.

As it turns out, he filmed all 40 years of it. Edited down to just 109 minutes, Val sees Kilmer tell the story of his magical life through decades worth of video footage, which arrives on Amazon Prime Video this weekend
after a brief theatrical run in the US.

Expect behind-the-scenes hijinks, unexpected appearances and a fair few
    tears.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video Cooking with Paris (Netflix)

For some reason, Netflix decided to commission a show which sees Paris Hilton cook for her famous friends. We say cook, but the term is best applied
    loosely here.

In Cooking with Paris, the sequined socialite basically goes food shopping, invites a celebrity over for dinner ( la Kim Kardashian) and attempts to create an edible meal. Apparently, this might prove enjoyable TV for some.

In fairness, its been described as a glorious glimpse into a life lived entirely without common sense so maybe there is some fun to be had here?

Now available to stream on Netflix Vivo (Netflix)

Perhaps the more intellectually-stimulating of this weeks Netflix offerings
is Vivo, a Sony-produced original animated musical led by the voices of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Gloria Estefan.

It follows the colorful journey of a kinkajou, Vivo, who travels from Cuba to Miami to deliver a love song to an old friend. With shades of Mirandas own In the Heights and Pixars Coco, this one is definitely for those who value soundtrack over storytelling, and looks to be a vibrant adventure for audiences young and old.

Now available to stream on Netflix Short Circuit season 2 (Disney Plus)

Joining Vivo in this weeks roster of animated adventures is Short Circuit, Disneys under-the-radar anthology of short films which returns for a second season.

Basically, its Love, Death and Robots without all the love, death and robots, instead showcasing the work of the studios experimental animators, who all employ different visual styles to tell their own quirky stories.

Interestingly, anyone within Disney can pitch an idea and potentially be selected to create their own short for the series, so theres definitely an abundance of creativity to be found here.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings Of Miami (Netflix)

Of course, it wouldnt be the weekend without the arrival of a new Netflix documentary, and Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings Of Miami delivers all the true-crime drama weve come to expect from the streamers now-customary exposs.

This one chronicles the rise of Miami drug kingpins Sal Magluta and Willy Falcon, who would become two of the most prolific cocaine dealers in US history.

Expect jealousy and jetskis from this six-episode series, which seems like good prep for the upcoming season of Narcos: Mexico.

    Description:
From new Marvel shows to festive family adventures, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its not even December yet, but that hasnt stopped the Christmas movies arriving on streamers thick and fast. Yes, Halloween has been and gone, so expect holly to replace horror for at least the next month.

That sled-load of festive filmmaking begins now, with the likes of A Boy Called Christmas, 8-Bit Christmas and Robin Robin here to remind us that the holiday season is indeed just around the corner (sort of). Hell, even Hawkeye
Disney Plus latest MCU show is holiday themed.

Below, weve rounded up the seven biggest additions coming to streamers over the next few days, with Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max all benefiting from new movies and TV series worth tuning into this November weekend. Best
Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Hawkeye (Disney
    Plus)

Following in the footsteps of WandaVision , The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , Loki , and What If...? , Hawkeye arrives on Disney Plus this week to continue Marvels ambitious Phase 4 plans.

In this six-part, Christmas-set series, Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) finds himself in teacher mode as he takes a new Hawkeye, Hailee Steinfelds Kate Bishop, under his wing. This one takes its cues from the Matt Fraction and David Aja run of comic books, and is expected to feature both Daredevil's Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Black Widows Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh).

We sat down with director Rhys Thomas and producer Trinh Tran to discuss the series in more detail, and the pair even teased the role of the multiverse in Marvels latest serialised adventure. Youll find the first two episodes available to stream on Disney Plus right now.

Episodes 1 and 2 are now available to stream on Disney Plus A Boy Called Christmas (Netflix)

A collaboration with UK broadcaster Sky, Gil Kenan's A Boy Called Christmas follows the journey of Nikolas, a seemingly ordinary boy who sets out on an adventure in search of his father and the fabled village of the elves.

Standard Christmas fare, then, but this one also boasts a stacked cast which includes Maggie Smith, Kristen Wiig, Jim Broadbent and Sally Hawkins so expect fuzzy, festive feels for all the family.

We're not going to suggest that A Boy Called Christmas is Godfather-level filmmaking, but we reckon itll still make for a heartwarming watch in the run-up to Christmas. As youd expect, UK viewers will find this one on Sky, rather than Netflix.

Now available to stream on Netflix in the US The Beatles: Get Back (Disney Plus)

Much has been made of the runtime for The Beatles: Get Back and, well, fans are right to raise an eyebrow Peter Jacksons three-part music documentary is six hours long. Still, thats an acceptable figure given the 60 hours of footage director Michael Lindsay-Hogg captured of the worlds most famous band in 1969.

That year, the Beatles wrote and rehearsed 14 new songs that would eventually end up on their final albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be, and Jackson spent three years editing and restoring Lindsay-Hoggs material to offer audiences
an unprecedented look at how those seminal works came together.

Come for the BTS footage, but stay for the bands legendary final concert, performed from the rooftop of their London headquarters and shown here in its entirety for the first time in history.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus Bruised (Netflix)

In Halle Berrys directorial debut, a disgraced MMA fighter (played by Berry herself) is forced to find redemption in the cage when the son she gave up as an infant unexpectedly re-enters her life.

If that all sounds rather clichd, thats because it is, but Berry filmed parts of this one while suffering from a set of broken ribs (in fear of being shut down), so were inclined to support her efforts on that basis alone.

Reviews have been mixed so far, but boxing and MMA fans will likely find lots to love here including all the Rocky tropes one could hope to see in a
    movie.

Now available to stream on Netflix 8-Bit Christmas (HBO Max)

This HBO Max-exclusive holiday movie is set in 1980s Chicago and centers on a 10-year-old boy who hopes to get the ultimate Christmas gift: a Nintendo.
Here at TechRadar, thats a wish we can get behind (and since its Black
Friday, check out our Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals , wont you?).

Michael Dowse directs this adaptation of Kevin Jakubowski's book with a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, June Diane Raphael, Steve Zahn and
newcomer Winslow Fegley. To be honest, it looks like dumb fun, but also worth watching if silly Chrismas films are your thing.

8-Bit Christmas is only available to HBO Max subscribers in the US, though,
so UK viewers will have to wait until this one lands on Sky (as it surely
will do before the day itself).

Now available to stream on HBO Max Robin Robin (Netflix)

Ramping up the festive cheer even further is Robin Robin, a 30-minute short from Wallace and Gromit studio Aardman Animations which follows the identity crisis of a robin who thinks shes a mouse yes, really.

This endearing adventure is directed by duo Michael Please and Dan Ojari, and features the voices of Gillian Anderson and Richard E. Grant. It also sees Aardman swapping clay for felt in its quest to tug at your heartstrings.

Of all the Christmas-themed content weve listed so far, we reckon thisll be the one to bring you the most joy. And, at just half an hour, theres really
no risk involved in giving it a try.

Now available to stream on Netflix All or Nothing: Juventus (Amazon Prime Video)

One for the sports fans, here. All or Nothing: Juventus continues Amazons popular behind-the-scenes series to this time take a look inside the inner temple of Italys most successful football club during the 2020/21 season.

Incidentally, that season marked the first time Juventus failed to win the league since 2011, meaning Amazon chose the best moment in a decade to go behind the curtain of the European giants.

If youre not a football (sorry, soccer) fan, its unlikely youll find much to interest you here, but sports fans in general will undoubtedly come away from All or Nothing: Juventus having enjoyed a good time.

Now available to stream on Prime Video New Netflix movies 2021 : every original film coming to the streamer

    Description:
From brand new Disney adventures to acclaimed period dramas, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its throwback season on streamers this weekend. Jungle Cruise arrives on Disney Plus to whisk audiences back to the old-timey adventure flicks of the 80s (that themselves were evoking serials from decades before that), while Amazon Primes The Pursuit of Love switches up the period drama formula by merging the electric rock of the 90s with a conventional 20s setting.

Theres some contemporary drama, too, in the shape of The Grand Tours four-wheeled hijinks, but a pair of documentaries on John DeLorean and the Harlem Cultural Festival keep proceedings firmly in the rear view mirror.

Thats not to say this weeks arrivals are any less interesting, of course, and below weve rounded up the best movies and TV shows coming to the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max over the next few days. Best Netflix movies Best HBO Max movies Best Netflix shows Jungle Cruise (Disney Plus via Premier Access)

Ever been to Disneyland? If so, youre probably familiar with the Jungle Cruise, a riverboat ride that sends punters down a stream full of animatronic animals and lost explorers. Well, Disney decided to turn that ride into a feature film as it did with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and the result is the imaginatively-named Jungle Cruise.

Starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, the movie follows a doctor and boat captain on their search for an ancient tree with healing powers. If that doesnt sound like the most engaging premise, thats because it isnt but a great cast and high production values mean Jungle Cruise is still a fun adventure .

Youll have to fork out to watch it, though. As with Black Widow before it, Jungle Cruise will cost $29.99 / 19.99 / AU$34.99 via Disney Plus Premier Access service.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus via Premier Access The Pursuit of
    Love (Amazon Prime Video)

What is it with Britain and its obsession with period dramas? Well, if theyre all as good as The Pursuit of Love, long may that obsession continue.

A three-part miniseries originally commissioned for the BBC, this adaptation of Nancy Mitford's 1945 novel tells the tale of two cousins who take very different paths in search of their ideal husbands. Actress Emily Mortimer directs for the first time, while Lily James, Dominic West, Emily Beecham, Dolly Well and Andrew Scott all star in what has been described as a scathing satire of the British upper class.

Scotts performance, in particular, has been praised for its humor and a scene-stealing dance sequence so Fleabag fans, take note.

UK viewers can already watch this one on BBC iPlayer, rather than Amazon
    Prime Video.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video US The Prince (HBO Max)

Speaking of satirizing the upper class, The Prince arrives on HBO Max as an animated lampooning of the British Royal Family. In this show, seven-year-old Prince George spills the beans on his parents, grandparents and Buckingham Palaces residents and staff.

Family Guys Gary Janetti leads the voice cast as George, alongside an oddly stellar lineup which includes Orlando Bloom, Alan Cumming, Sophie Turner, Tom Hollander and Dan Stevens.

Interestingly, this one has come rather out of the blue HBO didnt announce
it would begin streaming today until yesterday, and given some of the
backlash the show has received so far (check out some of the YouTube comments on the trailer above, we don't need to litigate them here), that was probably a wise executive decision.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US The Grand Tour Presents: Lochdown (Amazon Prime Video)

The latest episode of The Grand Tour Presents has arrived, and follows the customary vehicular antics of trusty trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond as they embark on an adventure through the Scottish
    Highlands.

Called Lochdown, the special was filmed in 2020 amid the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, which limited the shows ability to shoot abroad. It therefore replaced original plans to film in Russia, and marks the third episode in The Grand Tours fourth season, after the release of A Massive Hunt in December 2020.

Dont expect a dampened experience, though. Lochdown sees the hosts drive classic American cars from Edinburgh to the Hebrides on a Route 66-style road trip, which May has described as the most beautiful drive [theyve] ever done.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video Myth & Mogul: John DeLorean (Netflix)

Thanks to the Back to the Future franchise, everyone knows the cultural
impact of the DMC DeLorean but what about the man behind the name?

This new Netflix docuseries charts the rise and fall of automaker John DeLorean, combining interviews and exclusive footage to paint a dark portrait of a man who made it all the way to the top, before it all came crashing
    down.

Netflix rarely misses with its expos documentaries, so expect the usual helping of jaw-dropping moments from this one.

Now available to stream on Netflix FBoy Island (HBO Max)

Youve heard of Love Island . Youve heard of Too Hot to Handle. And now, as if we were short on shows matchmaking photoshopped singles, FBoy Island arrives to reinvent the formula.

Basically, this show mixes up The Bachelor format by letting three women decide whether their suitor is a nice guy or a f*** boy. We havent seen it,
we probably wont see it, so thats about all we can tell you in good faith.

Oh, and Nikki Glaser hosts? Whether thats a push or a pull, well leave to you...

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US Summer of Soul (Disney Plus)

Now, we included this one in a similar round-up last month, but music documentary Summer of Soul has since arrived on Disney Plus in the UK as well as Hulu in the US, so we thought it was worth another mention.

Directed by American musician Questlove, Summer of Soul charts the impact of 1969s Harlem Cultural Festival, which saw the likes of Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and B.B. King grace the stage in you guessed it a summer of soul.

Reception has been overwhelmingly positive for this one, especially after it scooped both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Expect heaps of previously unseen footage and a healthy dose of feel-good nostalgia.

    Description:
From long-awaited blockbusters to returning comedies, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Sci-fi fans, rejoice! Dune , Denis Villeneuves star-studded adaptation of Frank Herberts celebrated novel, has finally landed in theaters and on HBO
    Max after several pandemic-induced delays.

Sure, the director never wanted his magnum opus to be made available to watch on streamers, but if it means we get to see Timothe Chalamet sat atop a skyscraper-sized sandworm from the comfort of our own homes, were grateful
    for the executive decision.

Elsewhere, theres a healthy selection of horror movies, alien flicks and returning comedies making their way onto streaming services over the next few days below, weve rounded up seven of the biggest additions landing in the US and UK this weekend. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Dune (HBO Max)

One of the biggest movies of 2021 in terms of scope, budget and surrounding hysteria Dune lands on HBO Max in the US (only at the $14.99 tier) this weekend to finally provide the answer to the long-touted question: is it really possible to adapt Frank Herberts sci-fi epic?

Denis Villeneuve directs this latest effort, which stars Timothe Chalamet as Paul Atreides, a gifted young prince forced to travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the survival of his people. The likes of Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac and Jason Momoa also star,
so this really is the definition of a blockbuster its even got a thumping Hans Zimmer score to boot.

Critical reception hasnt been as universally positive as Villeneuve might
have hoped, though the only major qualm has been Dunes obvious place as part one of a larger whole. Otherwise, expect a visually stunning epic in the vein of Star Wars and Game of Thrones.

For our own thoughts on the movie, you can check out our Dune review . UK viewers will have to watch this one on the big screen.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US Invasion (Apple TV Plus)

If not for the arrival of Dune, Apple TV Plus latest big-budget series, Invasion, would have proven the most significant sci-fi streaming addition of the week.

Riding on the coattails of the streamers ever-improving Foundation , this new series examines humanitys response when Earth is visited by a mysterious
alien species. That might sound formulaic, but the combined talents of X-Men screenwriter Simon Kinberg and Hunters creator David Weil should ensure this globe-trotting adventure breaks new ground.

Shamier Anderson (Extraction) and Sam Neill (you know, the guy from Jurassic Park) lead the cast for this 10-episode series, with the first three episodes available to stream now.

Subsequent episodes will land on Apple TV Plus every Friday.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Locke & Key season 2 (Netflix)

Locke and Key season 2 finally lands on Netflix this weekend, ready to continue the supernatural adventures of the titular Locke siblings Kinsey (Emilia Jones), Tyler (Connor Jessup) and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott).

Season 2 is set to pick up exactly where the first left off, with the family forced to confront the consequences of the latters final episode (no
spoilers, but s*** hit the fan). Expect even more Lockes, keys and a demon or two this time around.

Considering the success of other Netflix shows right now not just Squid Game
Locke & Key is still fairly slept on, so its worth tuning into if youre
after something different to the streamers more mainstream fare.

Now available to stream on Netflix Night Teeth (Netflix)

In this Netflix original movie the latest of many heading to the streamer in 2021 a college student moonlighting as a chauffeur picks up two mysterious women for a night of party-hopping across LA.

Unfortunately, said college student discovers that these mysterious women are in fact vampires which is always a nice surprise, isnt it? Think of Night Teeth, then, as a (supposedly stylish) cross between Knock Knock and
    Twilight.

To stay on top of all the latest scarers, weve detailed a list of the other new horror movies heading to theaters and streamers in the coming months.

Now available to stream on Netflix Curb Your Enthusiasm season 11 (HBO Max)

Larry Davids long-running comedy series returns for an eleventh season this weekend, continuing the fictional-but-not-fictional actors misadventures throughout Los Angeles.

New episodes will maintain the shows celebrated ad-lib humour, with guests including wait for it Bill Hader, Jon Hamm, Albert Brooks, Patton Oswalt, Jon Hamm, Woody Harrelson, Lucy Liu, Kaley Cuoco and Tracey Ullman set to ensure season 11 keeps its tried-and-tested formula feeling fresh.

This ones landing on HBO Max in the US, but UK viewers can find the latest episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm streaming on Sky Comedy from October 25.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US Sex, Love & Goop (Netflix)

Sex, Love & Goop had to be a Gwyneth Paltrow creation, didnt it?

Basically, Netflix has commissioned a show that sees real-life couples work with sex experts to find their optimum orgasm. Thats how we understand it, anyway, but heres the official synopsis for clarity:

Sex, Love & Goop follows courageous, real couples as they work with sex experts to explore their bodies and learn methods to enhance their relationships. Through deeper intimacy and an open mind, each couple experiences pleasure, sex and intimacy differently.

We dont really know what else to add.

Now available to stream on Netflix After We Fell (Amazon Prime Video UK)

You know those movies that adhere so resolutely to cringey genre tropes that they must have been written as parodies of said tropes? Well, After We Fell sticks to the romance formula like a moth to a lamp but its not a parody.

In fact, its the third in a series of theatrical adaptations following After and After We Collided inspired by Anna Todds young adult novel. This time, main character Tessa is forced to confront the reality of her hard-fought commitment to Hardin.

As such, youre probably only going to be interested in this one if you caught the first two entries in the series but After We Fell might, at least, make
a satisfactory break-up movie for anyone enduring some romantic struggles.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and more this weekend

    Date:
    Fri, 10 Dec 2021 15:30:08 +0000

    Description:
From twisting sci-fi thrillers to returning TV dramas, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve been flogging the festive horse when it comes to new movies and TV shows arriving on streamers over the last few weeks, but surprisingly (and thankfully?) the Christmas content library doesnt seem to be getting much bigger this December weekend.

Instead, were being treated to a mix of brand new sci-fi, crime and drama features, alongside several returning TV shows including the long-awaited reboot of the Sex and the City franchise (some people were asking for it, apparently).

Below, then, youll find our picks for the seven biggest movies and TV shows dropping on the likes of Netflix , HBO Max and Prime Video over the next few days. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Encounter (Prime Video)

Amazons latest sci-fi adventure, Encounter, lands on Prime Video this
weekend, and sees estranged father Riz Ahmed on a mission to save his two young sons from an extraterrestrial infection sweeping the Earth.

At least, thats our synopsis for the movie. When we spoke to its director , Michael Pearce, he offered an alternative elevator pitch: I call it a coming-of-age film trapped within a psychological road thriller but I might change that description tomorrow.

Whichever description is the more accurate, Encounter nonetheless tells a compelling, genre-bending story that will likely strike a chord in more ways than one.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video The Unforgivable (Netflix)

Returning to the screen for her first starring role since 2018s Bird Box
(also a Netflix original), Sandra Bullock plays a woman who struggles to rejoin society after serving time for a violent crime in The Unforgivable.

German director Nora Fingscheidt makes her English-language debut with this one, which also stars typical tough guys Jon Bernthal and Vincent D'Onofrio alongside the ever-brilliant Viola Davis.

Judging by the trailer, The Unforgivable looks like typical redemption movie fare, but Bullocks projects have defied expectations in the past (remember
    The Blind Side?).

Now available to stream on Netflix And Just Like That (HBO Max)

Clearly inspired by the reboot fever sweeping through Hollywood right now (just take a look at the new horror movies coming next year), Sex and the
City returns to screens this weekend with And Just Like That on HBO Max.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon all reprise their roles from the original series (for a reported $1 million-per-episode), though Kim Cattrall's Samantha wont feature presumably owing to the off-screen bust-up between her and Parker. Other returning faces include John Corbett, Chris
Noth and Mario Cantone, alongside newcomers Sara Ramirez and Nicole Ari Parker.

The first two of 10 new episodes are available to stream right now, with the rest arriving on a weekly basis. UK viewers will find this one on Sky or NOW TV.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US and Sky in the UK The Expanse season 6 (Prime Video)

Amazons hit sci-fi series, The Expanse, returns for its sixth season on Prime Video, ready to continue the adventures of the Rocinante crew as they fight alongside the Combined Fleet of Earth and Mars to protect the Inner Planets from Marco Inaros and the Free Navy.

That will all make sense to those who have already enjoyed the first five seasons of the show, which has become something of an underrated favorite for those who like their space-based television (Apple TV Plus Foundation owes a debt to The Expanse).

Episode 1 is available to stream now, with the remaining nine arriving every Friday.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video Tiger King: The Doc Antle
    Story (Netflix)

As if we needed any more Tiger King after the original series (we didnt), Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story comes just weeks after the second season of the hit Netflix docuseries.

This time, though, the camera is turned away from Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin to focus on fellow big cat zoo owner Doc Antle. But fear not: Antle has also been accused of running his facility like a cult, so expect more of the same four-legged madness.

This three-episode series will take a microscope to those claims, and
features interviews from those with first-hand experience of dealing with the controversial figure.

Now available to stream on Netflix Back to the Outback (Netflix)

Sticking with the animal theme, new animated movie Back to the Outback
follows a group of reptiles with a plan to escape the Australian zoo in which theyre held captive. If that sounds like a rehash of Madagascar, but set in the Outback, your instincts are probably right.

It does, however, feature a stacked voice cast which includes Aussie actors Isla Fisher, Tim Minchin, Eric Bana, Keith Urban, Guy Pearce and Jacki Weaver (no, not that one).

For that reason, if nothing else, were willing to recommend giving Back to
the Outback a try especially if youve got little ones to keep occupied this weekend.

Now available to stream on Netflix Bloods (Hulu)

British viewers may have already enjoyed Bloods on Sky earlier this year, but those in the US can now stream season 1 of the popular paramedic comedy on Hulu.

Bloods follows tough-acting loner Maleek (Samson Kayo), over-friendly
divorcee Wendy (Horrocks) and their fellow ambulance station colleagues through the life-and-death world of a fictitious south London emergency service.

Its a comedy, mind, so expect heaps of dark humor and several displays of incompetence.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US New Netflix movies 2021 : every original film coming to the streamer

    Description:
From new superhero adventures to unsettling horror thrillers, theres plenty
to watch this weekend on Netflix and more streamers.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Admittedly, its a rather quiet one on streamers this weekend apparently theres a new Bond film out? with fewer blockbusters and more understated arrivals hitting the likes of Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max over the next few days.

Black Widow now finds a permanent home on Disney Plus minus the Premier Access fee, but thats about it for new triple-A adventures you can expect to enjoy. Still, Halloween is fast approaching, which means spooky season (and the scary movies it brings with it) is well underway on streaming services this October.

Below, then, weve rounded up seven of the biggest additions coming to platforms this weekend from creepy home invasion thrillers to unsettling original horror films. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Black Widow (Disney Plus)

As mentioned above, this weekends highest-profile streaming arrival is Black Widow, which lands on Disney Plus following its hybrid theatrical release
    back in July.

Scarlett Johansson returns as Natasha Romanoff in the first standalone adventure for the character, which sees her forced to confront the unexplored demons of her past. Basically, that means we get a better look at Black
Widows troubled upbringing as a superspy-in-waiting, and get to hear Ray Winstone's best effort at a Russian accent.

As well as the customary butt-kicking and skydiving, though, we also learn more about her family made up of David Harbour, Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh in this story. And if those names still arent enough to make you interested in this movie, no amount of positive critical reception will do
    the trick, either.

You can check out our review of the movie here .

Now available to stream on Disney Plus There's Someone Inside Your House (Netflix)

Hot on the tail of recent Netflix arrivals No One Gets Out Alive and The Guilty, There's Someone Inside Your House continues the streamers push
towards creepy new thrillers this month.

After moving to live with her grandmother in Hawaii, a teenager (Sydney Park) must confront her past when fellow students at her school are murdered by a masked killer whos also exposing their biggest secrets. The producers of Stranger Things and The Conjuring Universe are behind this one, so it might
be worth a try though early reviews havent been kind.

To stay on top of all the latest scarers, weve detailed a list of the biggest new horror movies heading to theaters and streamers in the coming months.

Now available to stream on Netflix Welcome to the Blumhouse: Madres / The Manor (Amazon Prime Video)

The final two movies in Amazons eight-part collaboration with horror studio Blumhouse Productions, Madres and The Manor tell two very different stories that both center around the collective theme of "institutional horrors and personal phobias.

The former, directed by Ryan Zaragoza in his directorial debut, is set during the 1970s and follows a Mexican-American couple who experience a string of supernatural happenings while expecting their first child. The latter,
written and directed by Axelle Carolyn, explores a similarly supernatural presence at

    a (presumably haunted) nursing home.

Both movies have been praised for being some of the best in the series which began back in 2020 so horror fans should find a lot to love here.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video CSI: Vegas (Paramount Plus)

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was something of a cultural force in the
heyday of its 15-season run, so it figures that CBS has decided to
re-energize the franchise with the release of a fifth spin-off series, CSI: Vegas.

Vegas has been described as a 10-episode sequel epilogue that sees the department faced with a new, dynamic, intriguing force of criminalists. It will chart the huge advances made in criminal forensics, and stars original cast members William Petersen, Jorja Fox and Wallace Langham, who return as Gil Grissom, Sara Sidle and David Hodges, respectively.

New episodes will premiere every Wednesday on CBS, and become available to US audiences on Paramount Plus the same day you can also watch it for free on the CBS website with commercials. UK viewers: we hope the show will land on Channel 5 at some point, but head over to our how to watch CSI: Vegas guide for more on that.

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus and CBS.com in the US V/H/S/94 (Shudder)

Shudder , AMCs horror-dedicated streamer, gets another frightening addition this weekend in the form of V/H/S/94 which, as the title suggests, plays on the found footage formula in creepy (and often violent) ways.

In this one, a police swat team raid a remote warehouse after discovering a mysterious tape, only to discover a sinister cult compound whose collection
of pre-recorded material uncovers a nightmarish conspiracy.

V/H/S/94 is the fourth instalment in the V/H/S series and comes from Shudder alumni Simon Barrett (Sance) and Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You Too) so expect plenty of gratuitous bloodshed.

Now available to stream on Shudder Muppets Haunted Mansion (Disney Plus)

Slightly less intense but perhaps no less haunting is Muppets Haunted Mansion, a one-off Halloween special that sees fan-favourite Muppet Gonzo tasked with surviving a single night trapped inside, you guessed it, a
haunted mansion. Hes joined by Pepe the King Prawn for company, while the ghosts of Kermit and Miss Piggy roam the halls.

Its only 50 minutes long, so we dont see too much here to disinterest
existing Muppets fans, and the movie also marks one of acclaimed voice actor Ed Asner's final works before his death.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus 15 Minutes of Shame (HBO Max)

We often like to book-end these roundups with a new documentary, and while there isnt too much by way of factual drama headed to Netflix and Prime Video this weekend, HBO Max does benefit from 15 Minutes of Shame, a deep dive into the phenomenon of public shaming.

Incidentally, this one comes from executive producer Monica Lewinsky, who lends her own unique perspective on the subject specifically, how making
just one mistake can ruin a persons life.

Theres sure to be plenty of talking heads and archive footage in this one,
but 15 Minutes of Shame has nonetheless been described as a sobering take on how and why the internet behaves the way it does.

Now available to stream on HBO Max New horror movies 2021 : every scary film coming soon

    Description:
From returning series to much-anticipated animated spin-offs, theres plenty
    to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Weve said it before and well say it again: not all weekends are created equal when it comes to new movies and TV shows arriving on streamers. This weekend, in fact, might be the most underwhelming for some time, with its selection of new additions made to look even more lackluster by the absence of a bona fide blockbuster.

Still, that doesnt mean theres nothing worth watching over the next few days. Among the returning series are some intriguing original movies, brand new shows and thought-provoking documentaries, not to mention a much-anticipated animated spin-off to one of Netflixs most popular properties. If you missed out on Cruella, too, it's now available to stream for all Disney Plus users.

Below, we round up seven of the biggest new arrivals on the likes of Disney Plus , Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max this weekend. Best Netflix movies Best HBO Max movies Best Netflix shows Clickbait (Netflix)

Netflixs newest eight-part drama focuses on the race to find family man Nick Brewer (Adrian Grenier), who is abducted in a crime with a sinister online twist. His captor exploits the publics unhealthy obsession with voyeurism, basically, by claiming hell kill Brewer if his live-streamed ordeal hits a certain threshold of views.

Its an interesting premise, one which critics have labelled unsophisticated but highly bingeable, so there should be some thrills here, at least, even if the social commentary is a little unsubtle.

We cant yet vouch for the accuracy of the title, though.

Now available to stream on Netflix The Other Two season 2 (HBO Max)

Season 2 of the acclaimed Comedy Central series finds a new home on HBO Max this weekend, once again focusing on the two adult siblings (Drew Tarver and Helne Yorke) who are outshone by their much younger pop star brother (Case Walker).

New episodes see Molly Shannons Pat basking in her newfound limelight as a daytime talk show host, while new guest stars including Bowen Yang, Zosia Mamet, Ian Ziering, Debi Mazar and Jordana Brewster join the hilarity.

Two episodes will stream each week across five consecutive Thursdays. UK viewers will likely find the show on E4 in the near future, though a
broadcast date hasnt yet been confirmed.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US See season 2 (Apple TV Plus)

By most accounts, season one of See the Jason Momoa-led sci-fi series about
a band of sightless tribesmen wasnt great. An over-reliance on gore and a convoluted narrative meant neither critics nor audiences warmed to the show, though that hasnt stopped Apple releasing a second season on its ever-improving streamer.

This time, though, Hollywood man-of-the-moment Dave Bautista joins the cast
as Baba Voss estranged brother, Edo, who has captured Babas daughter, Haniwa. Evidently, then, some sibling rivalry is on the cards, which should mean well get to see Drax battle Aquaman, at least.

Incidentally, the show has also been renewed for a third season, so perhaps this second outing really is a major improvement on the first.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Check out our list of the best
Apple TV Plus shows The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (Netflix)

Given the immense popularity of Netflixs The Witcher series, it makes sense that the streamer commissioned an animated spin-off show ahead of season 2s arrival in December.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf focuses on the origin story of Geralt's mentor and fellow witcher, Vesemir, who must leave his everyday monster-slaying ways behind to confront a dangerous new power rising on the Continent.

Interestingly, the show acts as both a prequel to season 1 of the mainline Witcher series and a taste of what to expect from a character set to play a big part in its upcoming sophomore season.

Now available to stream on Netflix Vacation Friends (Disney Plus, Hulu)

Weve all made friends on holiday who we secretly wish wed never see again,
and Vacation Friends taps into that awkward sentiment by having oddball
couple John Cena and Meredith Hagner unexpectedly turn up to the wedding of two friends they met on a boozy vacation in Mexico.

Yvonne Orji and Lil Rel Howery star as the unwilling recipients of Cenas typically-brash advances, which make for some less-than-friendly encounters
in the real world beyond the resort.

Critical reception has been pretty cold on this one, to say the least, but if youre a fan of the former wrestlers brand of humor, youll likely find something to enjoy here.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus in the UK and Hulu in the US Mosquito State (Shudder)

Nobody likes mosquitos, but nobody dislikes them quite as much as Mosquito States protagonist, Richard, who finds swarms of the blood-sucking insects breeding in his apartment.

Naturally, the young Wall Street data analyst must find a way of eradicating the pests before enduring a psychological meltdown and, as youd expect from a Shudder original, things dont go too well.

This ones been described as Cronenberg meets Kafka, which is an analogy that has us more intrigued by Mosquito State than wed care to admit.

Now available to stream on Shudder Fernando (Amazon Prime Video)

As usual, we like to end our weekly round-ups with some fact-based drama, and this weeks non-fiction arrival documents the glistening career of Spanish Formula One driver Fernando Alonso.

As youd expect, the five-part series combines race footage, behind-the scenes clips and exclusive interviews to paint a portrait of one of the most popular sportsmen on the planet.

Dont expect The Last Dance-level drama here, but Formula One one fans will surely find lots to like in this tell-all feature on Alpines El Nano.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video What's the best streaming service in 2021?

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Were just over a week away from Black Friday 2021 , which means the TechRadar site is awash with deals on all the latest and greatest hardware but those worried wed be distracted from this weeks new streaming arrivals need not fear.

In fact, this weekend marks the most impressive weekend of new movies and TV shows weve seen for some time. As well as highly-anticipated series like Amazons The Wheel of Time and Netflixs Cowboy Bebop, were being treated to a slew of film awards hopefuls, too, including Lin Manuel-Mirandas tick, tick...BOOM! and the Will Smith-starring King Richard.

Below, weve rounded up the seven biggest arrivals coming to the likes of Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max over the next few days. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 The Wheel of Time (Prime Video)

Amazons big-budget fantasy show, The Wheel of Time , has finally arrived on Prime Video. An adaptation of Robert Jordans best-selling novel series, it follows powerful sorceress Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) on her quest to find the Dragon Reborn, a powerful warrior prophesied to either save mankind, or destroy it.

Game of Thrones comparisons have been rife ahead of its release, but this show is much more about high fantasy than George R. R. Martins series think magic, witches and wizards in place of silver-tongued charlatans and incestuous siblings.

To get a better idea of what to expect, we sat down with The Wheel of Times cast and showrunner, Rafe Judkins, to discuss the pressures of bringing Jordans sweeping fantasy epic to life.

Episodes 1-3 are now available to stream on Prime Video Cowboy Bebop (Netflix)

Three-and-a-half years after it was first announced, the live-action adaptation of beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop has arrived on Netflix.

The original Cowboy Bebop was a Japanese-produced, jazz-inspired anime series from the 1990s which followed a band of intergalactic bounty hunters through the solar system, and this remake looks to breathe new life into its winning blend of science fiction and noir tropes.

John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda and Alex Hassell all star in this 10-episode debut season, with original composer Yoko Kanno returning to helm its famously jazzy soundtrack.

Now available to stream on Netflix King Richard (HBO Max)

An early Oscars contender, HBOs King Richard follows the tireless journey of Richard Williams (Will Smith), an undeterred father committed to taking his gifted daughters, Venus and Serena, to the top of the tennis game.

Saniyya Sidney, Demi Singleton, Jon Bernthal, Tony Goldwyn and Dylan
McDermott star alongside Smith in this one, which has been produced by the Williams sisters themselves so expect an authentic portrait of passion and sacrifice.

King Richard is available to stream on HBO Max in the US as part of Warner Bros ongoing day-and-date release schedule, but UK audiences will have to catch this one in theaters.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US Tiger King 2 (Netflix)

No, we didnt ask for it. No, reviews havent been kind. But Netflix couldnt resist the urge to cash in on the massive pandemic popularity of its wild docuseries, Tiger King.

This time around, with Joe Exotic behind bars and Carole Baskin closing in on ownership of his disreputable zoo, audiences are supposedly exposed to even more unbelievable revelations surrounding the lives of Americas most
    notorious big cat owners.

Despite Baskins refusal to take part in Tiger King 2, though, shes more the focus than Exotic himself so expect to hear more (or less?) about the mysterious disappearance of her husband, Don Lewis.

Now available to stream on Netflix tick, tick...BOOM! (Netflix)

In Lin-Manuel Mirandas feature directorial debut, promising young theater composer Jonathan Larson (Andrew Garfield) navigates love, friendship and the pressures of life as an artist in New York City on the cusp of his 30th birthday.

Incidentally, tick, tick...BOOM! is actually based on the semi-autobiographical musical of the same name by Larson himself, whom Garfield plays in this one, so fans of the playwright (and musicals in general) should find lots to love here.

We reckon, like King Richard, itll be the subject of awards noise over the next few months, too, so tick, tick...BOOM! is definitely worth a watch for those who like to stay on top of the Oscars rumor mill.

Now available to stream on Netflix The Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO Max)

HBO Max's latest comedy series, The Sex Lives of College Girls, centers on four randomly assigned roommates (Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Rene Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott) of varying backgrounds as they begin their first year
at a fictitious New England university.

Created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, this one looks to bear more than a few similarities to the formers Netflix show, Never Have I Ever, and though early reviews have been mixed, wed say its a safe bet for fans of Kalings trademark humor.

Episodes will arrive in batches of two or three each Thursday, with the first two available now. And yes, in case you were wondering, Pauline Chalamet is the sister of Timothe.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US Jagged (HBO Max)

The first of HBOs five new Music Box documentaries (further entries will arrive every Thursday), Jagged traces the early career and troubled personal life of Canadian singer Alanis Morissette.

Interestingly, despite appearing in the film through an in-depth interview, Morissette has since come out publicly against the depiction of events in Jagged which, in our opinion, makes it an all-the-more intriguing watch.

The New York Times described this one as thrilling, which is rare praise for
    a seemingly run-of-the-mill music doc.

From blockbuster sequels to brand new animated comedies, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its almost Halloween, folks! That must surely mean were in for a slew of new horror movies this weekend, right? Wrong. In our pick of this weeks biggest streaming additions, theres only one major horror movie to note yet another Paranormal Activity flick in amongst a decidedly eclectic mix of sequels, series and quirky new animations.

But horror fans neednt fear. Interestingly, many of this years scary movies dropped on streamers a couple of weekends ago (or are arriving after
Halloween itself), so theres still plenty of blood and gore to sink your
    teeth into.

Below, then, weve rounded up the seven biggest movies and TV shows arriving
on streaming services this weekend with picks from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max . Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Army of Thieves (Netflix)

In this prequel to Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead , small-town bank teller Dieter (Matthias Schweighfer, reprising his role) is recruited into a crew of Interpol's most wanted criminals in order to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.

Schweighfer inherited the directing chair from Snyder in this one, and is joined in the cast by the likes of Natalie Emmanuel, Guz Khan and Stuart Martin. Dont expect too much of its predecessors uber violent style, but Army of Thieves nonetheless sounds like an enjoyable, easy-to-watch mix of Money Heist and The Suicide Squad .

Criticism has so far been kind, so Schweighfers debut seems a safe pick for a good time this weekend.

In a rare case of a movies release being brought forward (from a planned
March 2022 date), Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin heads to Paramount Plus today as an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise, according to ViacomCBS streaming bosses.

A reimagining? Maybe. But unexpected? We dont reckon so. Expect more of the series customary handheld horror, which should pack enough jump scares to pique the interest of returning fans.

UK audiences, though, will have to wait until this one lands in theaters. Our advice? Watch any of the previous six movies for an equivalent experience.

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus in the US Fairfax (Amazon Prime Video)

A new adult animated comedy series that supposedly targets the pulsing heart of hypebeast culture, Fairfax lands on Prime Video this weekend to add some cartoon satire to your entertainment routine.

The show follows the never-ending quest for clout of four middle school best friends on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, and stars the likes of Billy
Porter, Zoey Deutch, Rob Delaney, Ben Schwartz and John Leguizamo.

Its humor seems pretty on-the-nose, but given our fondness for Netflixs Neo Yokio a similarly satirical skewering of todays young people were willing
    to give Fairfax a shot.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video Star Trek: Prodigy (Paramount Plus)

Star Trek: Prodigy was originally ordered as a Nickelodeon series, but finds its way to Paramount Plus this weekend as the first animated Star Trek series aimed exclusively at younger audiences as well as Trekkies everywhere.

It follows a motley crew of young aliens aboard the U.S.S. Protostar, who
must learn to work together as they make their way towards the Alpha
Quadrant. Jason Mantzoukas, Jameela Jamil, Jason Alexander and Daveed Diggs are among the shows extensive voice cast.

Star Trek: Prodigy is only available to stream on Paramount Plus right now, but UK viewers will be able to catch it on wait for it Nickelodeon later in the year.

Now available to stream on Paramount Plus in the US Swagger (Apple TV Plus)

Hot on the coattails of Foundation and Invasion , Apples latest drama series takes the action away from space and towards a very different type of star.

Swagger is set in the world of youth basketball and is inspired by the childhood of NBA ace Kevin Durant, who serves as a producer alongside series creator Reggie Rock Bythewood. The ensemble cast features O'Shea Jackson Jr., Quvenzhan Wallis and newcomer Isaiah Hill.

Sports-based shows arent all that common nowadays, but given Apples success with soccer drama Ted Lasso , wed say this one is absolutely worth a look.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Doctor Who season 13 (BBC iPlayer)

Doctor Who returns for the thirteenth (!) season since its 2005 revival this Saturday, marking the final bow of both Jodie Whittaker and head writer Chris Chibnall before ex-showrunner Russell T Davies takes back the reins in 2022.

For only the second time in the programme's history and the first since 1986
this latest season will tell one complete story across its entirety, rather than comprising self-contained episodes.

Mandip Gill and John Bishop both return as the Doctors travelling companions, so expect more of the shows customary space-hopping hijinks.

Now available to stream on BBC iPlayer Best Doctor Who episodes Love Life season 2 (HBO Max)

The second season of Sam Boyds romantic comedy series lands on HBO Max this weekend, this time stepping back from Anna Kendricks Darby to instead focus
on William Jackson Harper's character, Marcus Watkins.

Kendrick will appear again though not in a lead capacity alongside the
likes of Jessica Williams, Chris Powell, Punkie Johnson and Ego Nwodim. The anthology is made up of 10 episodes, streaming in three weekly batches, with the first three episodes available to watch now.

UK viewers: season 1 aired on BBC One a few months after streaming in the US, so we expect season 2 to do the same.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and more this weekend

    Date:
    Fri, 20 Aug 2021 14:32:49 +0000

    Description:
From mind-bending thrillers to quirky new comedies, theres plenty to watch this weekend on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and other streamers.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its been a while since the last good sci-fi thriller, hasnt it?

Christopher Nolans Tenet is probably the most recent example of a bona fide mind-bender, so its no surprise that Nolans sister-in-law and Westworld co-creator, Lisa Joy, should be the one to re-ignite the synapses in our moviegoing brains with Reminiscence, a time-hopping adventure in the vein of Inception.

If youre not one for recreational headaches, though, fear not. This weekend sees a host of new movies and TV shows dropping on the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max . The Green Knight, in fact, is available to stream for those in the US, though some mixed marketing means were not
certain of just how long A24 intends to keep the film available, nor exactly where in the world you can watch it. UK viewers who want to watch The Green Knight are still left in the dark, which is a poor showing.

Below, then, we round up seven of the biggest streaming additions we do know are available to watch right now from quirky new comedies to twisty dramas. Best Netflix movies Best HBO Max movies Best Netflix shows Reminiscence (HBO Max)

Arriving as Warner Bros latest hybrid release gambit on HBO Max, Reminiscence stars Hugh Jackman as a private investigator living in a post-apocalyptic Miami tasked with sifting through memories to uncover a violent conspiracy.

If that sounds like a perplexing premise, thats because the movie comes from the mind of Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy, who makes her directorial debut here alongside her husband, Jonathan Nolan, who serves as executive producer.

This memory-hopping thriller which boasts shades of The Matrix, Inception, Gone Girl and, of course, Westworld also stars Thandie Newton and Rebecca Ferguson, though it's so far been the subject of mixed critical reception.

Still, we described Reminiscence as a thrilling Westworld-style sci-fi movie in our review , so theres definitely something worth watching here. UK
viewers will have to see this one on the big screen, as with all of Warner's movies on HBO Max in the US.

Now available to stream on HBO Max in the US for 31 days Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu/Amazon Prime Video)

Based on Liane Moriartys novel of the same name, Nine Perfect Strangers sees Nicole Kidman star as Masha, an owner of a holistic wellness spa who makes it her mission to reinvigorate (inverted commas intended) the minds and bodies
    of nine unsuspecting guests.

After also fronting Moriartys Big Little Lies adaptation, Kidman is typically unsettling as a woman who isnt all that she seems, though critics have lauded the most praise upon co-star Melissa McCarthys scene-stealing turn as
    Francis.

Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale and Michael Shannon also star in Nine Perfect Strangers, which is now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Amazon
Prime Video in the UK.New episodes are rolling out weekly.

For more info on the making of the show, TechRadar chatted to actor Manny Jacinto , who spoke of its complex characters and themes.

Now available to stream on Hulu in the US and Amazon Prime Video in the UK The Chair (Netflix)

What is it with Netflix and dysfunctional schools? The Umbrella Academy, Sex Education, Elite the list goes on, and The Chairs arrival on the streamer
this weekend does little to buck the trend.

Produced by Games of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (in
what marks their first Netflix project), The Chair stars Killing Eves Sandra Oh as a newly-appointed English professor at a decidedly old fashioned (read: male-dominated) university.

Its a dramedy, so expect satire aplenty, but the show has also been praised for its smart skewering of academia as well Ohs typically brilliant performance.

Now available to stream on Netflix Annette (Amazon Prime Video US)

If Netflix has a thing for school-based dramas, Amazon loves a good one-word title. Anna, Jolt, Greenland Borat? Annette not a direct sequel to Anna,
were told is the latest in the sequence.

The English-language debut for veteran French director Leos Cara, Annette follows the unravelling relationship of married couple Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard after the birth of their unexpectedly-gifted daughter.

To say anything more would spoil the movies intrigue, but Annette seems like art cinemas answer to Marriage Story. Its also a full-on rock musical, which sounds interesting.

UK viewers will have to wait until November 26 to stream this one, which is when it lands on the movie specialist service Mubi but it will be getting a theatrical run from September 3.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video US Sweet Girl (Netflix)

Again, definitely not a sequel to Sweet Tooth , Sweet Girl sees Jason Momoa embroiled in a political conspiracy as a man seeking justice for his wife's death, while also trying to protect his daughter from the resulting chaos.

Momoa himself produces the movie, which is essentially a run-of-the-mill
chase thriller with anti-Big Pharma sentiments, while long-time collaborator with the actor, Brian Mendoza, directs.

If you watched Beckett last week, youll likely find more of the same man-on-the-run beats here though thats not necessarily a criticism.

Now available to stream on Netflix The Defeated (Netflix)

Landing on Netflix via Nordic streamer Viaplay, The Defeated (originally called Shadowplay) sees Taylor Kitsch return to the screen as an American cop navigating the fallout of WWII in 1946 Berlin.

This under-the-radar show also stars Nina Hoss (Homeland), Tuppence Middleton (Mank) and Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus), and combines English and German-language action to provide an authentic portrait of post-war Europe.

Critics havent weighed in on The Defeated just yet, but an interesting historical premise makes this one worth a look, regardless.

Now available to stream on Netflix In the Same Breath (HBO Max)

We couldnt end the round-up without mentioning a new documentary now, could we? Luckily, In the Same Breath arrives on HBO Max to abate our weekly thirst for facts.

This feature-length doc likely marks one of the first of many
Covid-19-related exposs to hit streamers in the coming years, and explores
how cover-ups in the early days of the pandemic led to...well, the world around you right now.

That said, In the Same Breath is not a film about a virus, according to its director, Nanfu Wang, so expect a deeper dive into the dirty politics that kept the world in the dark about an issue that continues to reverberate all over the world.

    Description:
From new sci-fi adventures to returning TV shows, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Halloween has been and gone, which means horror season on streaming services is coming to an end. Sure, theres still plenty of new horror movies coming to screens in 2021, but the next few days sees the blood and gore of previous weekends replaced by a decidedly eclectic mix of original movies, hotly-anticipated TV shows and returning comedies.

This week, Apple TV Plus gets another moment in the sun, with Korean drama
Dr. Brain and the Tom Clanks-led sci-fi adventure, Finch, joining the platforms ever-growing roster of original entertainment content .

But the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max all get a look in, too,
and below weve rounded up the seven biggest movies and TV shows worth tuning into this November weekend. Best Netflix shows Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 The Harder They Fall (Netflix)

One of the most eagerly awaited new Netflix movies in 2021, The Harder They Fall sees director Jeymes Samuel helm one of the very few Westerns whose principal cast members are all African-American.

In this fictional story inspired by real-life cowboys, outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his old enemy, Rufus Buck (Idris Elba), is being released from prison so, naturally, he reunites with his gang to seek revenge.

LaKeith Stanfield and Regina King also star in this action-packed adventure, which has been the subject of generally positive critical reception so far.

Now available to stream on Netflix Dr. Brain (Apple TV Plus)

Hot on the coattails of Foundation and Invasion , Apples latest drama series, Dr. Brain, arrives at a rather serendipitous moment for the streamer.

A Korean language show, it comes just a few weeks after Netflixs Squid Game proved Western audiences appetite for foreign entertainment, and looks to boast an equally engaging (read: wacky) premise.

Dr. Brain follows the exploits of a neuroscientist (Parasites Lee Sun-Kyun) who, after losing his family to a mysterious accident, attempts to uncover
the truth by conducting "brain syncs" with the dead to access their memories for clues. Were intrigued, to say the least.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (Amazon Prime Video)

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain follows the true story of eccentric British artist Louis Wain (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose paintings of cats yes, cats would go on to change public perception of the furry felines forever.

Will Sharpe directs this one, which utilizes a suitably outlandish art style to match the eccentric personality of its titular protagonist. Claire Foy
also stars as Wains love interest, Emily Richardson.

Critical reception hasnt been too kind so far one reviewer said it drowns in quirk but The Electrical Life of Louis Wain looks like something different, at least.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video Finch (Apple TV Plus)

Tom Hanks goes full Castaway mode in Apples latest original movie, Finch, which tells the tale of an isolated survivor in a post-apocalyptic world who embarks on a journey to find a new home for his dog and robot companion.

Thats a premise weve heard before in one guise or another both I Am Legend and Chappie seem like obvious influences, judging by the trailer but Finch nonetheless looks like a feel-good road trip adventure worth taking this weekend.

Besides, who doesnt like Tom Hanks?

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Big Mouth season 5 (Netflix)

One of Netflixs most popular adult comedies returns for a fifth season this weekend, offering fans more of the shows hormone-fueled humor and unique art style.

According to the streamer, Big Mouth season 5 will see romantic confessions, angry tirades and vicious rumors fly as lovebugs and hate worms wriggle their way into the hearts of the Bridgeton Middle crew. Sounds ominous, then.

Most of the shows exceptional voice cast will be returning, too, so expect to hear more from the likes of Nick Kroll, Jason Mantzoukas, Maya Rudolph, Jessi Klein and Jordan Peele.

Now available to stream on Netflix Narcos: Mexico season 3 (Netflix)

Sticking with Netflix, the third and final season of Narcos: Mexico lands today, ready to shine a light on even more cocaine and corruption in Mexicos illegal and sprawling drug trade.

As a new generation of cartel leaders vie for power, journalists hunt for the truth while government agents walk a thin line between justice and
corruption, says the shows official synopsis.

Whether that means you can expect anything wholly fresh from Narcos: Mexicos 10-episode finale remains to be seen, but it will likely appease those who
are already looking forward to more of the same drug-busting fare.

Now available to stream on Netflix Head of the Class (HBO Max)

A revival of the 1980s sitcom of the name, Head of the Class follows a group of overachieving high school students and their teacher, Miss Adams (Isabella Gomez), intent on helping them let loose.

Now, we cant say this comedy series looks particularly funny (it seems more Disney Channel than HBOs usual high-quality fare) but Head of the Class will undoubtedly have something to offer for fans of the original series even if only regret for its needless existence.

Now available to stream on HBO Max New horror movies 2021 : every scary film coming soon

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and more this weekend

    Date:
    Fri, 12 Nov 2021 15:00:19 +0000

    Description:
From brand new blockbusters to original drama series, theres plenty to watch this weekend.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

Its only November, but Christmas is already beginning to rear its festive
head on streamers. This week, were treated (or subject) to a remake of Home Alone on Disney Plus , but the next month will see plenty more snow-capped movies and TV shows make their way to the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max .

Our advice, then, is to enjoy the non-Christmas content while you can. Luckily, theres several exciting new streaming additions to enjoy this weekend, from Rebecca Halls poignant directorial debut, Passing, to the Will Ferrell-starring The Shrink Next Door on Apple TV Plus .

To help you decide what to watch, weve rounded up the seven biggest movies
and TV shows worth tuning into over the next few days. Best Netflix shows
Best Netflix movies New horror movies 2021 Red Notice (Netflix)

In this big-budget Netflix original movie, a daring heist brings together FBI agent Dwayne Johnson and art criminal Ryan Reynolds to foil the plans of
    rival thief Gal Gadot.

Gadot is the subject of the titular Red Notice in this one, a global alert to hunt and capture the worlds most wanted, so were anticipating a John Wick-esque action adventure with heaps of humor thrown in for good measure.

Early reviews haven't been too kind so far, but the chemistry of its charismatic (and undoubtedly expensive) leads should outweigh its lack of originality in the plot department.

Now available to stream on Netflix The Shrink Next Door (Apple TV Plus)

The Shrink Next Door, the hotly-anticipated new dark comedy series fronted by Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd, lands on Apple TV Plus this weekend.

Inspired by true events (and the hit Bloomberg podcast of the same name),
this eight-episode show follows the relationship between celebrated psychiatrist Dr. Isaac Ike Herschkopf (Rudd) and his longtime patient, Martin Marty Markowitz (Ferrell).

Both Ferrell and Rudd served as executive producers on the show, which was written by award-winning screenwriter Georgia Pritchett (Succession, Veep),
so were excited to see its oddball drama unfold.

Now available to stream on Apple TV Plus Passing (Netflix)

The second Netflix original movie of the week, Passing follows two black
women (Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga) who can 'pass' as white, but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line in 1929 New York.

Based on the celebrated novel by Nella Larsen, this one marks actress Rebecca Hall's directorial debut, and has been near-universally praised for the sensitive handling of its complex subject matter and important examination of racial identity in the early 20th century.

Its lead performances are already proving the subject of much Oscar buzz,
too, so expect to be hearing awards noise about this one long into next year.

Now available to stream on Netflix Home Sweet Home Alone (Disney Plus)

In fairness to Disney, its been a while since it last remade one of its classic movies we just didnt want the next one to be Home Alone.

The title, at least, is different. Sort of. The plot? Not so much. Home Sweet Home Alone follows troublesome youth Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit) as he
attempts to defend his home from invading crooks Ellie Kemper and Rob
    Delaney.

There are some nostalgic cameos from original stars Devin Ratray and Macaulay Culkin, but fans of the 1990 classic shouldnt go into this one expecting too much by way of warm Christmas magic.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus South Side season 2 (HBO Max)

The acclaimed Chicago-set comedy series South Side moves from Comedy Central to HBO Max for its delayed second season, which arrives this weekend to add some humor to your entertainment diet.

Season two continues in the vein of the first by following two recent community college graduates, Simon and Kareme, on the hunt for better employment opportunities while grinding through life at a furniture rental store.

South Sides debut outing, which aired more than two years ago, won over critics with its diverse cast of characters and smart situational comedy, so we expect season 2 to offer more of the same.

Now available to stream on HBO Max Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett (Disney Plus)

The latest in Disneys long line of behind-the-scenes documentaries is Under the Helmet, a deep dive into the history of Star Wars most iconic bounty hunter, Boba Fett.

Like Marvels Assembled documentaries before it, this one will combine interviews and never-before-seen archive footage to paint a picture of Fetts enduring legacy as one of the coolest movie characters of all time. And it dropped on Disney Plus Day alongside a slew of other announcements, so be
sure to check our Disney Plus Day hub for more news and reveals as they arrive.

Disney hasn't released an official trailer, so weve attached the brand new
The Book of Boba Fett trailer, instead, to get you in the mood for the macho mandalorian.

Now available to stream on Disney Plus Mayor Pete (Amazon Prime Video)

Sticking with the documentary theme, Mayor Pete lands on Prime Video this weekend to tell the inside story of Pete Buttigiegs headline-generating campaign to be the youngest US President of all time.

Mayor Pete charts the journey of the young politico from the earliest days of his campaign through to his unlikely, triumphant victory in Iowa, and
examines how his leadership bid changed the lives of those involved in it.

This one is directed by Jesse Moss, who helmed acclaimed documentaries Boys State and The Overnighters, so wed say it's absolutely worth a watch if youre into your politics.
