Stage 13 opens up the weekend's riding with a fairly flat transition between the Alps and the Pyrenees, but although the terrain isn't the most challenging, high winds may well prove a problem. We may also see riders trying to provoke a split in the latter stages of this lengthy 220km stage.
Stage 14 is classified a hilly stage, with second and third-cat climbs making up the majority of the stage - suiting the best all-rounders, and should make for good getaway opportunities. However, Stage 15 will separate the men from the boys, though, as we head into the Pyrenees proper for several gruelling ascents, peaking at over 2,400m. However, the biggest challenge will be the final ascent of the stage, the double-figure Col de Beixalis, and the subsequent technical descent into the capital of Andorra.
