FULL STORY ======================================================================
Earlier today, The Linux Foundation announced the Open Internet Explorer Toolbar Foundation, their latest initiative aimed at recreating the well
known browser feature using Open Source technologies.
Our research indicates that everybody loves Internet Explorer toolbars,
stated Linux Foundation Executive Director, Jim Zemlin. The ability to add a nearly infinite number of custom, third party toolbars so many that your entire screen could become filled with glorious toolbars was a truly revolutionary feature. We aim to recreate that magic using the power of Open Source.
The creation of the new Open Internet Explorer Foundation comes just one week after the announcement of the Open Metaverse Foundation.
Were on a roll, exclaimed a visibly excited Zemlin. First the Metaverse, now IE Toolbars? And this is just the beginning! Over the coming months, we
will continue to create new foundations focused on re-creating the most popular and talked about software, using Open Source, under the Linux Foundation umbrella.
A source within the Linux Foundation spoke to The Lunduke Journal of Technology, on the condition of anonymity, about some of their upcoming new projects. Among them:
Open RealPlayer Foundation
Open Microsoft Bob Foundation
Open Flash Banner Ads Foundation
Open E.T. for the Atari 2600 Foundation
Somebody mentioned the possibility of an Open Clippy Foundation the other
day, stated the source. So, you know, fingers crossed. Share
