I haven't posted in a while, but felt this needed a mention. I have just set up
























































an instance of mastodon so I can play around and see what it's all about etc. I
























































wanna open it up to anyone that is in tqwNet to have a look at and see if you wanna use it.

It's all federated with the rest of the ecosystem, no restrictions on that so feel free to sign up for an account if you don't already have one, and wanna see what it's all about.

There's bound to be things that I haven't finished getting to work yet, or overlooked entirely, but from what I can see so far it's working as _I_ expect,
























































I think... so maybe it's working enough to use.

You can get to the site at https://mas.erb.pw, and currently sign-ups require "approval" from an Admin/Moderator (read: me) but going forward if it works, and people like it, I'll open it up for everyone without needing approval I think.

Any feedback is welcomed, again there is every likelihood that something (or more) isn't working but I'll figure it. This is an experiment that I would like
























































to see how far it goes with.

I've really been enjoying Mastodon. I have an account at mstdn.ca which has really taken off here in Canada. Some prominent Canadian politicians and organizations have accounts there.

During the mass Twitter exodus the server was receiving thousands of new registrations per day and really started to fall over. The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) who oversees the registration of .ca domain names























































offered them a grant to beef up their infrastructure. At one point there were over 11,000 active users, it looks like this has settled down to about 7,000 active users.

It's been neat playing with the CLI tool, the same jokes & horoscopes that I post to FTNs I also post to Mastodon. My instance has a 500 character limit so























































certain things like weather forecasts are difficult to post unless I include everything in an image (like from wttr.in).

Hope you have fun! I enjoyed my time (too many years to count, going back to *statusnet*) on the fediverse. Finally properly ditched it last year though; social media just really isn't for me aside from weird spots like this, I think

It's nice to know that ya'll hopped on the Fediverse train, It's quite nice to see decentralized tech that I've been using for years come to life by so many people.
