• Doors and Raspberry pi 3b

From DavidG@21:3/188 to All on Tue Jan 14 12:39:53 2025
    Hey everyone,

After looking at the Linux readme, it mentioned DOSEMU but that's not on
the RPI, someone mentioned DOSBOX stating that it may run but slow,
somebody else mentioned QEMU, for me that seems like overkill.

I run a humble system and I'd like to run a couple of doors, to test,
    any suggestions, success stories?.

    Thanks

Mine runs on a 3b and i've some linux terminal games that work well.

Anything which runs in the terminal, that are simple just run natively within the bbs, worth a try. I simply did a google search and installed a few.

    Best of luck

So they'd have to be native linux games for them to run?.

Can you name some examples?, hehe please say Doom, RTCW?

If you do a search for BSD Games Package, there's a few within that which run easily. All basic stuff like hangman, startrek, boggle etc.

To install I think I used something like sudo apt install bsdgames

It'll create a few within a folder and I simply added these to run external programs in mystic and it ran them fine.

I also have nethack working and a load of Infocom text adventures which mostly work.

Not sure I'm doing it correctly, however having fun :)

drop by dundarach.tplinkdns.com if you fancy.

I'm reading and educating myself on the matter, getting tons of advice from Reddit and testing out, noy sure if the idea of a Game backend server running .... shhh ... "senchronet" would make sense?.

I did get dosemu2 installed, still trying to figure out what mystics Github txt on running doors on Linux applies and turning the knobs here.

BTW, say you on SkyNet, thanks ;)
