What is considered to be 'artificial intelligence' today does not meet
my definition of the phrase. There are no self-aware machines. And
that's probably a good thing, if the likes of Terminator or Ex Machina
are to be believed.
We're steeping toward that, though. Yes, we don't have any real AI today, but we are developing systems that can learn (in a bounded way) from the input that they get.
Like any other complex thing, we aren't going to just jump there. But rather move toward it slowly, making it better and better on each iteration.
And slowly is a good thing.
... You will be the victim of a bizarre joke.
