    It sucks when the paperwork for the new job isnt ready yet, and I am eager to be employed by my new employer. However Im restricting myself to emailing or calling once a week for a status update. Goal is not to be too obnoxious and still get my answers.

    I once was given a verbal job offer at the end of an interview and was then ghosted. I went about three weeks of doing the same (hit them up about twice a week without even a polite, "we're working on it," in response). Finally I sent a WTF? email to the CEO and I got back a very terse email from HR saying, "we never gave you a job offer, you're on crack".

    I wasted several weeks' of job interviews because I was promised *this* job. Now if I end up between jobs I keep applying and interviewing right up until I'm in a chair.
