You are totally right. With much of the US media owned by a handfull^^^
of companies...I don't trust anything I hear. That's why I only watch non-US sources (Reuters/CBC/BBC/DW/NGK/60 Minutes Australia) to get
an idea of what's going on

I used to try and keep myself up-to-date as much as I could, but lately I'll just check in with the news as needed, otherwise it's just too depressing to read on a regular basis.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is a federal Crown
corporation (owned/funded by the government) but has traditionally been more left leaning regardless of who is in power.
One of the things I liked to do was read the same reporting from a
"left" leaning news source and the same story from a "right" leaning
news source.
It was always interesting to read how all of the facts of the reported issue/event were kept intact (x happened) but the reasons behind/blame assigned tend to be very different based on organizations left/right leanings and who is currently in power. (political party y is doing all they can vs political party y isn't doing enough).
theglobeandmail.com (left) and nationalpost.com (right) are good
examples of these reports.
