The only thing I can think of that comes close was a bunch of wildfires
in Australia and smoke from those fires blew across the Tasman sea and
came across New Zealand. We had days of weird coloured skies etc..
You guys had it easy... Parts of Aus had it for weeks!...
what's worse is that the smell hangs around for weeks even after the
bush fire has come and gone.... This is from personal experiance. #0(
Bummer hummer... fingers crossed this year won't be as bad.

Fair enough, yes we've been fortunate over here (so far) to have not
really had many fire / dryness related events. With the change to El
Nina?? I expect this may change in the coming years :(

Canada and, by proximity, the US have been dealing with smoke off and
I don't complain too much about it, though, because at least we are not the ones on fire. I feel for Canada.
yes I sort of feel the same way, I jumped on a CBS news app today at lunchtime and saw stories about smoke from Canada, heatwaves etc. and
from over here it's very foreign.
Tonight it's getting down to around 2-3 degrees Celsius and I need to go and lung in about 4 baskets full of firewood soon. :)
Spending a lot more time with all of the windows closed in the house and the AC turned on. Had quite a bit of rain late last week, now I need to find a less smoky day so I can go out & mow the lawn.
