  • Talisman 0.22 coming soon

    Hi

    Talisman v0.22 will be out soon, once I test the hatching functionality
    with systems other than postie.

    There's not much new with talisman itself, most of the work this release
    has gone into postie (which is bumped to v0.6)

    New in Postie:

    * filefix.
    * file hatching
    * now possible to control which nodes postie will toss files for (ie
    if it should forward files on, process files, or both, or none)
    * file areas now have groups, so you can control who has access to what
    file groups (with filefix)

    Hatching is the main feature, and is done like this

    postie tichatch filename.zip FILE_AREA replaces.??? "Some file desc"

    where : filename.zip is the path and name of the file to hatch
    FILE_AREA is the file echo tag
    replaces.??? is the pattern for replacing files
    "Some file desc" is a one line description for the file.

    Long file descriptions are pulled out of the file_id.diz if it exists.

    So awesome! You're on fire and I'm sure the serious Talsiman sysOps will be happy about this new release... I need to play catch up and get my sister-Talisman BBS up to date!!! OMG.

    And MAYBE I can even get the FTNs running already. Sheesh, Paulie!
