Yep, that''s good.

Just list the areas you want added in the message to areafix.
+FSX_GAMING
+FSX_SPORTS
Use * if you want to connect to everything
+*
The + is optional, you can use - to remove areas.
Also, the second reply advises me that dflorey is not found...

It's probably your signature. If you add a tearline "--- ", below your commands on a new line areafix will ignore anything below that, but it's a harmless error so I wouldn't worry about it any.

Still not sure what's going on... Message bases are reportedly being added according to the areafix responses, but they're just not being automatically added to the message base config & being displayed as a selectable area in messages. This used to be automatic, and not sure what has changed.

Sounds like you are connected to the areas you want but you want a rescan also? The commands a showed you won't rescan areas but you can do that like this in a message to areafix..
%rescan FSX_SPORTS
%rescan FSX_ARTS
...
And carry on with any other areas you want to rescan.

I worked in one of those buildings when I first moved to SF! right in
"Levi's Plaza" as I think it's known as now. Cool old buildings, some good
eats around there and a kick-ass pub called The Old Ship right down the
street (built on the ruins of a goldrush-era ship graveyard). My old
business partner and I hatched our startup idea there and dorwned our
sorrows there as it crashed and burned. Good times LOL.

SF was a fun place to work, and a fun place to grab a drink afterwards. I worked at Williams-Sonoma right out of college, their corporate office was across the street from Pier 39; North Beach was walking distance for lunch.
One of us used to walk to Mario's Bohemian Cigar Shop (actually, a cafe) and buy a grocery bag full of focaccia ends and day-olds for 7 bucks, bring them back and put them in the coffee room.
Later I worked in SOMA up until 2012 or so.

Not sure what has caused this...
It's probably your signature. If you add a tearline "--- ", below your commands on a new line areafix will ignore anything below that, but it's a harmless error so I wouldn't worry about it any.

Hi Al
Still not sure what's going on... Message bases are reportedly being added according to the areafix responses, but they're just not being automatically added to the message base config & being displayed as a selectable area in messages. This used to be automatic, and not sure what has changed.
What am I missing!?

Sounds like you are connected to the areas you want but you want a rescan also? The commands a showed you won't rescan areas but you can do that like this in a message to areafix..
%rescan FSX_SPORTS
%rescan FSX_ARTS
...
And carry on with any other areas you want to rescan.

I don't think we even have Fosters locally do we? It went with the dodo in the late 80s? All we get now is VB very bad... if you want a CUB beverage.

No harm done, I was also taking the piss...
There are plenty of local favs, but also a lot of very popular imports.
Again, I don't know a single person that drinks Fosters.
My father & uncles all used to drink Vic Bitter, its cheap crap but still plenty of people have a liking towards it...
I personally like the XXXX Lagers - Either regular or mango. Very easy to
sink a heap and not realise how many you've had, yet still being full
strength!
James Squires is another local fav - plenty to choose from in their range.

In San Francisco, there was a building called The Icehouse - but they were
old brick buildings that used to hold ice; not sure who owned it back then.
It had been converted to edgy office space by the time I worked nearby in
the '90s. Levi Strauss and Williams-Sonoma were there.

Since COVID I've been working remotely, this just reminded me how much I
miss the City :(

SF was a fun place to work, and a fun place to grab a drink afterwards. I worked at Williams-Sonoma right out of college, their corporate office was across the street from Pier 39; North Beach was walking distance for lunch.
One of us used to walk to Mario's Bohemian Cigar Shop (actually, a cafe) and buy a grocery bag full of focaccia ends and day-olds for 7 bucks, bring them back and put them in the coffee room.
Later I worked in SOMA up until 2012 or so.
