Just a quick FYI that Northern Realms may be down for the day.
Ugh Warp, that stinks. If the SSD is working fine I think the /var/log directory might be helpful for review.
Let us know what the gremlin was - I hate when a system craps out on us. Bleck!!
So I think the NUC's motherboard may be on the fritz. The
SSD seems to be ok, but the NUC itself refuses to boot to
anything at all..
No biggie though, I just fired Mystic up on my Pi and have mail up &* Origin: Northern Realms (21:3/110)
going, just means I'll go back to customizing this one instead of
Telegard.

For what its worth.... good advice costs nothing, and its worth the price.. have you checked its power supply? Might be marginal. The NUC I have only runs off a wall wart... they're pretty good at failing... marginally and catastrophicly.

I hadn't though to check that. This NUC uses something
that looks like a laptop power supply.
I'll have to dust off my old volt meter and give it a look.
The power supply says it should be providing 19V @ 3.42A.

WHAAAAAT!? You never thought that the wall-wart might be
defective?
Hey, the machine is powering on and appears to be working ok except for that it's not booting. The power adapter isn't hot to the touch or..
It may be in one of those boxes we didn't unpack from the
last house. If that's the case it's probably just easier
to buy another one from Amazon...

either simply overheated (showing signs of burning, especially
if they had white plastic) or just quit.
I have an electric leaf blower that's useless now. The charger
doesn't work and you (of course) can't buy a replacment. I brought
in there or something. This is why I hate anything not powered by

Depends.... you may be able to do one of two things... so long as you
can figure out the actually battery type, you can probably charge it
with an appropriate charger.

Gasoline-powered NUC! Why run your BBS with anything else?!?!

The NUC that the BBS runs on seems to be misbehaving. Not sure where the problem is as of yet, it was working this morning and now it's showing
"No operating system found". I took the SSD out and the contents are still there, but it just doesn't want to boot. The backup ran ok overnight, so nothing would have been lost anyway.
