• Risc-y Telnet :)

From apam@21:1/182 to All on Tue May 4 16:05:00 2021
    Hey

So if you haven't been paying attention, I've been working on a RiscOS
    based BBS.

It's a very simple, one node at a time BBS, and is nothing like anything
    else I've done.

If you want to try it out, it's live at happylandbbs.com:11898

HOWEVER, you will NEED to use the default telnet client that comes with
your OS - DO NOT USE SYNCTERM, DO NOT USE MAGITERM, DO NOT USE NETRUNNER.

The reason is it uses linemode, and BBS type terminals don't support
that. Mud clients might, but not BBS terminals... there's no graphics
anyway, so you're not missing out.

Come have a play, it'll take you approximatly 3 minutes to see everything
lol. There is a "Notes" system which is like messages but only one line.. thought that line can be long..

Nice one! Haven't used pure telnet to access anything in a long time.
    Turning on local echo helps.

That's odd.. It should have turned it on automatically via IAC codes. Oh
    well.

Thanks everyone who came and had a look :) I'll leave it running for a
while (it was down due to thunderstorms this morning).

Not sure if I'll do much more to it.
