I'm going to be 61 in a week or two.
I have been getting the seniors discount at Wendy's for the
last 10 years or so. They don't ask my age, they just look
at my hair and give me the discount!
I've got two motorcycles in the garage right now..
I just don't take them out much anymore, as I've had way too many close calls. A couple years ago, I took the bike to the gas station, which is about a mile and a half down the road from where I live. On the way
there, I was almost hit twice. On the way back, there was another close call. People just don't pay attention to motorcycles, even with loud pipes. :)
Senior's discount for about 10 years in advance.. that's pretty
good.
But isn't Wendy's food supposed to make you age faster on
the inside? ;)
I've generaly kept my hair pretty short, and I would wear a hat
most of the time. Only recently in the last 2 years I've let it
grow longer - and got my first senior's discount without asking.
I still have a handful of years before 65. But.. some younger
people have started to call me "Sir". :(

I started to get the gray stuff in my 30s. :(

Happens to the best of us :)
I blame the step-kids for my grey hair. But even now, >50 I only have a sprinkling of salt going on, and appear have the hair from my mothers side... solid and thick still.
One thing I've noticed lately is people driving with their high beams
on, at night and even during the daytime. Some of the new lights are painfully bright, too.
Hey it's mothers day over here this Sunday, is it the same on your side of the ditch?

Happy to have something on top when most of the relatives I know or have known on the male side of the family lines didn't.
Not sure how long this will last!
Or something quite common around here are people driving at
night with nothing but their daytime running lights on.
You can't blame the driver for being confused as there isn't
an indicator that says your tail lights are off. I think
this could have been designed a bit better.
So here I am driving around at night with no tail lights on.
Next thing I know I have a cop behind me with lights
flashing & pulled me over. They were nice enough to let me
know my tail lights were not on and let go without a
ticket, so I imagine this is something they also see all
the time.
PSA: Make sure your headlights are set to "On" at night, and
don't drive around with your high beams on.

I get offers for senior discounts, and lately, twenty-somethings asking
me if I colored my hair gray. I tell them my ex-wife did my gray.

Haha, people are usually surprised when they find out my age. :)
I'm not sure the model of car, but there was one I saw
recently on a somewhat rainy/foggy evening. A car was
driving the opposite direction to me and the headlights were
actually tracking/moving with the road, almost like a
spotlight. A couple of times you could actually see the
beam moving through the fog.

Sure is, better give mine a call on Sunday. :)

My wall calendar reads for Sunday, May 9th: "Mother's Day (US, CAN,
AUS, NZ)"
Looks like we all celebrate our mothers on the same day. Which reminds me, I should order some flowers today for delivery on Sunday.

That's interesting to know. For some reason I thought we had different dates for this one around the world?

Here in Ontario we have the "Liquor Control Board of Ontario" or LCBO
for short this is where you'd go to buy hard liquor or wine. We also
have "The Beer Store" where you'd go to buy, you gussed it, beer. The LCBO is owned/operated by the province whereas The Beer Store is
privately owned but regulated by the LCBO.
In more recent times the government has relaxed these monopolies and
now allows the sale of single and 6 packs of beer & bottles of wine at grocery stores, though you still have to go to the LCBO for hard
liquor.
Anyway, the whole reason I bring this up is all through my 30s I was ALWAYS asked for ID at the LCBO, like always. One time I even had my driver's license scrutinized so has to also show my health card (also issued by the province) and a credit card with my name on it. It felt good that they didn't *believe* I was over 19 (I think I was 30 or 31
at the time).
But since hitting 40 they've stopped asking all together. :(
Nevermind my other half who is 8 years older than me and STILL gets
asked for ID. We were going through the line at the LCBO once, I was
in front of him and didn't get asked for ID, he was right behind me and sure enough: "Sir, I'm going to need to see some ID please." - I joked with the clerk: "Oh sure, you ask HIM for ID", she chuckled and then
did a double take at his birthdate and congratulated him on his good genes. ;)

Oldest I got asked for ID was 28, when entering a gaming venue. Had a friend who was asked for ID when entering a nightclub at 35. He still looks quite young.

I think most places in the US wind up requiring IDs regardless of age.
So I tend to assume that people are asking for IDs because it's policy, rather than because they think there's some remote chance I'm under 21.
In Australia, it's generally only if they think you look under 25 (legal age is 18 for most things and 21 at some gaming venues).
