Thank-you sir! This setup is all modern... nothing from the 90's.
Scared for sure. LOL

haha. So now you're all set up, I think I might start a working on a
new BBS package :P
Laugh! That wouldn't be the first time you've done that to me.
hahahaha
I know your kidding this time as there are still lots of things you
can
do with talisman before you get bored. :)

Just out of curiousity: Have you looked at OpenXP? It's not
really an offline reader, but a point software - so it works
a little bit different, but is a very comfortable way of
reading/writing mails in FidoNet-like networks (and also
supports NNTP and Internet E-Mail, but I'm not using this
part).

what's special about Bluewave?
Which BlueWave offline reader do you use? The bottom of your message
says EzyBlueWave v3.00 but I haven't found that as a downloadable
option - haven't looked that hard, I must admit, but still ... ??

they just don't want you to call your program "BlueWave" I guess if
it's incompatible, and they appear to get unhappy, I can always remove
it again. No one got unhappy with Magicka, but that was BSD not GPL..
but I am sure it will be OK.
So I started adding it. Mostly just following what I did in Magicka... anyway it won't be ready for a while. I'm going to take things a bit slower over the coming month or so, as I have a bit on.

Just out of curiousity: Have you looked at OpenXP? It's not really an
I have. It's not what I'm looking for. I use a few different computers
for BBS mail and as such I just find offline to be easier for the way I work.
One of my computers is a chromebook and I've got a base linux install on it for multimail and magiterm, but it would take too much to try to get such
a complex program as openxp running.

Although I have to say that I'm also using OpenXP from different computers, because I've installed it on one of my servers and I always
use it via SSH.
I'm also unsure if OpenXP would run on a Chromebook in the first place
as I think it only runs on x86/amd64 computers. (And I think
Chromebooks are mostly ARM machines?)
Although I have to say that I'm also using OpenXP from different

When I'm in the woods I have limited access to bandwith, so offline mail works better for me.

Actually thought about having a go at writing a RiscOS BBS a while back, given that it runs on the PI.
CP/M? :)
CP/M? :)
Nearly enough to break out the z80 card for CloneE.. IIe Clone...never
done much with CP/M to be honest though.
CP/M? :)
CP/M? :)I'd love to do one for CP/M, but I suspect that would be beyond my
ability.
But just FYI: Using z88dk, it's possible to do cross-developing for
CP/M in C.
And there's also sth. like Hi-Tech C which is C on CP/M.
For communicating with the serial port, eg. the CP/M 3 routines can be
used to send/receive bytes. That's quite simple (just not the fastest)
and
available on most systems that use CP/M 3 (so it's
hardware-independant).
Testing things out. ;)
