Just out of curiosity what do you find "rough around the edges"?

What else, did some gardening, planted some plants, should mow lawns but
the weather has been wet. I have a few new nodes to add today to fsx, have been looking at USB microphones, thinking about getting something there
for use with future videos but I also have a nice microphone (Shure) I use with my LPFM station, so I may flog that and see if I can get it working
the way I want.
It's nearly 9am Sunday now, I'd best go get breakfast sorted for my wife

Here in New Zealand we're in the middle of a long weekend as we
celebrate Waitangi Day. It's a day that reflects the signing of a
document between indigenous Maori and the European settlers that
arrived by boat some 100+ years ago. Have a look for more info online
if interested.
Yesterday my wife and I did some shopping in town, she bought the
James Bond film No Time to Die and we watched that last night. I think
I'll post a review / comments in the movies echomail area in the
coming days or so.
In a few weeks time I will be traveling to spend time with my parents.
My dad needs cancer treatment and my mum is showing signs of dementia
and needs help with preparing meals, working home appliances etc. I'll
look after her while dad is away during the week. He needs to travel
also to get the treatments he
requires. I expect I will be away for about a month. Traveling during
a rising wave of Omicron is not ideal but it is what it is.

It is 9:24am here on Sunday, like catching up on things and having an expresso latte like normal.
Yesterday evening we went to a neighbors house that had invited people from our cul-de-sac over. Also had gone bowling during the day, as my
son turned 15 years old and loves bowling.
Today we are having family over for his birthday and that is about it.
It is sunny here, but very cold. It went down to 15F last night and is only 22F right now. I do enjoy the cooler temps when it is sunny,
though. I'm sure I'll go to the grocery store later today in a short sleeved shirt and no coat.

You have one lucky woman there!. #-/

That's fascinating. Read a bit more about this on Wikipedia, thanks for pointing this out!
Bummed that D. Craig won't be bond anymore. Casino Royale is amongst my fav. movies of all time. Looking forward to your review/thoughts.
So sorry to hear this, Avon. My thoughts are with you and your family. I can really empathize -- as I type this I am down with my parents -- received a call Saturday night that I'd better fly down immediately to LA and see my father, as he is hospitalized with double pnemonia and stage 4 kidney failure and he is starting to lose lung/breathing function. Not Covid, but essentially same symptoms of viral pnuemonia, so I wonder... Docs don;t think he'd survive intubation, but he's an ex-US Marine and a fighter, so holding out hope he can get trhough this. My mom is also showing signs of dementia.
Anyway, as children of aging parents, we're at "that stage" of life now and it's really hard to deal with, especially when I realize my kids will have to deal with this some day...
Keeping a positive outlook - it's a beautiful day in S.Califonia, I saw
on the news it may get close to 90 F this week. Winter, ha!
Sounds nice :) I tend to catch some BBS time at the start or end of the
day. But the coffee is a good idea, I must do more of that :)
Sounds social. Here we have neighbors either side of us that we have known for 18+ years now, they are pretty good to deal with and we look out for each other when folks are away on holiday etc. so it's nice.
bowling as in 10 pin bowling? I enjoy that, haven't done it ages though.
Ha! My youngest is now 19 so I am starting to feel really old... it's
still summer here so t-shirts work well. I think we have until end of
March then autumn will start to creep in.

Heh yep and she knows it :)
She will miss it when I travel north at the end of the month to spend
time supporting my parents.
You'll miss her just as much! #-/
Earlier I was out with my wife and she's into op shopping so I drove around a bunch of second hand shops while she was hunting out some
uranium glass.. it's stuff that glows under UV light that she's
into at the moment.

You need to be a bit careful with that stuff. A lot of it is pretty
low level, but some of it is pretty radioactive. She got you running around with the black light torch yet? I don't know any way to tell
the more from less radioactive pieces.
On a seperate but related note there's also uranium based orange glaze
on some 30s pottery thats hiddeously radioactive, pretty much any deep red/orange glazing.

She might need one of these:

I wonder if I should find Geiger counter as a Christmas gift? ;-)
I think she may have one already... from what I can tell there's different types of UV light needed to shine on things to test if they contain X,Y,Z ?

So, I happen to be very near Corning, NY and the Corning Museum of Glass. I actually worked there once upon a lifetime ago as a preparator. (we made and maintained the exhibits)
If there comes a burning glass inquiry please do drop a line and I'll have a look into it.

fsxNet admin duties etc.
..and a general thanks to you for reading / taking the time to post in fsxNet. It's always nice to read echomail from around the planet and see who's up to what etc.
The recent food thread was massive, much like the lunch I had <-- bad
