    Hey

    I'm moving my blog back to wordpress, and to a new url.

    Previously it was here: andrew.pamment.id.au

    Now it is here: blog.talismanbbs.com

    Why do you care? Probably you don't, but it means I've moved my stuff
    too. Like MagiTerm.

    I've tried to make things a little easier to find, and remove old stuff,
    I've yet to migrate the door page.

    Also, I decided to move my magiterm files to
    talismanbbs.com/files/magiterm instead of members.iinet.net.au/~apamment

    That way it will survive should I ever change ISPs, or my ISP takes away
    free web hosting.

    The main reason for all this is, consolidating 2 servers into one, and
    not having to renew pamment.id.au domain name.

    Just trying to save a little.

    I do like the aspect that an RSS feed comes with Wordpress installs, so now
    my RSS reader will pick up when you post something new there.

    I assume this would be a crowd where RSS usage is relatively high, so
    hopefully others will add it, too.

    I do like RSS feeds, but I haven't really used one in some time. the one's I used to folliw all faded out.

    I managed to bypass RSS altogether.... although some months back I added a RSS feed? to an Apple II page at request of a mailing list. But I don't even know how you pick them up :)

    Hah! Well, thanks for considering those people who like the ability to keep
    up on changes without having to check back intentionally. :)

    As for picking them up, as long as you have a useful URL (and what constitutes a "useful URL" can be broad at times), you just add that to your reader and follow the directions.

    I use Tiny Tiny RSS, which is something you install on your server, then use
    as a web page (or Android client, I guess, but I haven't tried it).

    I think I mostly use it for web comics and some sub-feed from Ars Technica.

    But there are some, "update once a month" places that invariably put the content in front of me that I'd otherwise miss.

    RSS flies quite "under the radar" but is quite handy to have and I'm
    really happy that it is still offered by many sites.
