Just want to drop a note that the Arcadia BBS may be offline due to power outages caused by hurricane Henri. Current forecast puts the storm hitting land right near us and Eversource has a history of leaving the power off for days before repair.

I'll get it back up and running as soon as the lights are on if we lose power!

Being directly in the path of the eye just west of Hartford, I echo the above. I think you misspelled the name of the power provider... it's more like Neversource <G> Last summer we were without power/internet for almost *7*
days! Generator is ready just in case, but comcast I'm sure isn't.

also and if it is as bad as they say it could be, I will probably have my boards down also.. Last year at this time I lost my internet for 5 days..
Don't want that again!

This was the strangest storm I've seen to date! It zigzagged into Westerly
then back west northwest right over us! I run a weather station (kctunion6 on wunderground.com) and we had less than 1" rain, and 15mph winds! The following day however we had 20Mph winds and 2" rain! Some towns I know ended up with
a total over 7", others less than what we got.

I can't believe we had a 3 strike punch all in a row! The worst I can recall was in 1984 with Hurricane Gloria. I ended up doing a 3-day shift at WDRC.
The GM told us those who stay after 12 noon couldn't leave until clearance
was given so I volunteered. It was wild seeing the eye go right overhead!
Was hard to believe it was so strong all around it but the center was warm,
not that windy, and sunny!.. but all the closures (which is what I volunteered to handle and solo!) was insane. I don't think the rainfall from that though was anything near what we've had this year!

I ended up with next to nothing for wind, and just got some rain.
Never lost power!

Ida hit here the worst of the three. We ended up with some decent winds
around 20Mph and 6.5" of rain. Surprisingly we haven't lost power either.
Had the generator all set to go though! At least it'll be ready for any
major winter storms that may knock us out.

I'm heading up to our summer cottage close to Darmouth college for the
week - weather so far (pending Larry!) looks nice! Mid 70s/low 50's!
That and some great fresh seafood, I'm going to be a very happy camper.
