Well the last week or so seems to have zoomed by.

Work is chugging along. There's change afoot with new senior management team mostly in place and a CEO looking to 'get stuff done'. A new quality improvement guy started last week etc.etc.

I see a few longer serving (10+ years) staff leaving for various reasons and get the sense that more change is in the air. I am wondering how things will
be and what role I may (or may not) be in within the next year. Guess time
will tell :)

Not sure if I'd shared but my mum had been unwell and lost weight etc. in recent months. My dad has been caring for her and she's improved a bit but
not to the extent where she's back to how she was a few years ago. My dads health has not been 100% lately so family and aging and all that sort of
stuff has been on my mind lately.

I have 4 kids, two boys, two girls. The eldest son has started reno work on
his home (kitchen / bathroom) it's been underway 2 weeks now - he's doing it all in his evenings / weekends. They (him, his partner and their daughter) visit us each night to eat with us and use the shower. It's been nice to see them each day but also wearying for my wife and I. I expect this is going to continue for another 6 or so weeks yet.

Weather is still cool here. Bought more firewood due to be delivered tomorrow as we're just about out.

The first Pfiser jab I got last weekend went smoothly and with little
reaction in the body other than a sore arm and a few days feeling a little
flu like. I get the next shot in two weeks.

Today I'm trying to catch up on echomail. Post something to let folks know
I'm alive and active still in fsxNet. Add some nodes to systems.txt and keep plodding away at Agency BBS with the door game stuff I am migrating (slowly) over with the shift to Linux.

No comment. Good luck with the rest of that. My last flu
shot rendered my arm very sore and practically immobile with
bruising all over the arm. I'm not going to torture my body
that way again.

Heh.. well I guess that's true but I tend to keep focused on the 'staying alive, staying alive ah ha ha ha...' (you get the idea) **

They are mostly doing the showers every second day, so that's fine. We've had one night where they did takeaways and didn't come over. I expect that will
be the case over the coming weeks too. I should add they are making a
financial contribution to our food bills in recognition of their eating here most night, so that's cool too.

the nice thing about FTNs is that they can easily just run themselves so it's comforting to take pleasure that fsxNet is still going strong!

Sounds like you and I work at the same place. :) Seriously though, 22 years on the job and things are changing like crazy and everyone seems to be leaving. Guess it's the same everywhere.

I'm new to fsxNet myself. I was big into BBS's back in the day and helped run a few back in my hometown. Just got back into them recently and set up my own Mystic fsxNet node (also on Linux). Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself, say hello, and thank you so much for the great YouTube videos you did on how to setup everything. My node seems to be running great but I got some exciting ideas that I want to try to implement before I try to advertise it too much.

Anyway, wish you and your family the best of health, and thanks again for helping me get back into all this!

Yeah it's a different time for me at the moment but I am trying to ensure I make time to have fun with hobbies as and when the mood strikes. BBSing for
me has always been about a mix of tinkering with the bbs, helping others get into bbs, supporting developers of bbs software/doors/utils etc... etc. etc.

There have certainly been some highs and some lows over recent years... but while I continue to find fun in what I do with BBSing I'll certainly keep at
it :)

Years ago I ran a couple of FTNs as well like you with fsxNet. If there's anything I can do to help, feel free to ask. The system runs quite nicely
on autopilot most of the time here so there's not too much going on... mainly family members having some friendly battles in doors <G>

You sound like me at least more back in the day. I was always helping others with their systems/doors/FTNs/etc. I really miss my old MajorBBS system however now that I'm all linux, I've found Synch to handle my desires just fine. I'm glad I was able to get most of my old DOS doors working, it's
fun reliving the good ol' days... and the FTNs are quite enjoyable too. Sometimes you get more info from those than surfing the web and without
the flood of ads! <G>

There have certainly been some highs and some lows over recent years... but while I continue to find fun in what I do with BBSing I'll
certainly keep at it :)

I should have never stopped when I did tbh. I did start to get back into it around 2000 but it didn't last long. All I saw were crack attempts so I shut
it down. I missed my doors like T&J Lemonaide and Motor City Card Guppies which are the two main ones being played on mine now lol. I'm just happy that not only am I back on Fido, but after all these years I got my old number
back AND my position in Fido back... plus on VKNet, Dove, and fsxNet of course!
