  • Is this real life, or is this just fantasy?

    12-12-2021 at 00:21 (or 12:21am) my external connection was lost.

    If this is a joke, it's not funny. If it's the REAL Y2K bug, then I need to have a serious talk with my ISP...still not funny.

    Literally, to the second, my WAN shut down at exactly 00:21...
    12:21 on 12-12-21...this can't be a coincidence. Can it? o_O

    Turns out, it actually was a coincidence...my connection resumed five or
    six hours later.

    There was a significant amount of wind (up to 100 km/h) in my area that night. It's very possible that the wind damaged something somewhere in my ISP, as nearly half a million people lost power that night, including half of my town. (For some reason, my town runs on two completely separate power grids.)

    All is well now, though!
