I started a new BBS game project, this time in Lua! I typically flame
out in the home stretch (always thinking -- no one cares, it's dumb,
who will play it, etc.) but given it's a good excuse to learn more programming,
I know how that feels, and I also feel like that a lot. I've been very
lucky to have a few cool people pick up some of the things I've made,
so
that's always encouraging, but at the end of the day, you really have
to
do it because it's fun for you to do.

Plus it's ok to have lots of unfinished projects. Lots of stuff you can revisit down the track if you feel like it later..

If you do it for others, and lets say it becomes the most popular game
in the world, https://nicelocal.com/new-york-city/autoservice/type/gas_station/
