When you spend $15 USD (or your currenct equivalent) at
your LOCAL bookstore (in-store or online) through November
30th, submit your receipt to Libro.fm, you'll get to choose
a free audiobook from select bestsellers!
Hehe, some company keeps emailing me about signing up and
my first audio book will be free. Maybe amazon?
If one cares that their purchased download is non-DRM, and
transferrable to *any* device, then libro.fm provides that.
I'm not sure we even have a local bookstore, the closest
thing would be QBD or dymocks, but both of those are
national chains. I think there might be a book exchange..
but not new books.
The shop/store can be any "independent" one actually.
Take a look at the Business Directory at
https://
bookmanager.com That's HOME/Business Directory.
Then you can search by country.
Doing that just now, I learned about Allen & Unwin Publishers
in your country. On their site, they feature a book called:
The Left-Handed Booksellers of London
by Garth Nix
"From the bestselling author of Angel Mage, this ABIA winner
set in 1980s London follows one girl's quest to find her
father, leading her to a secret society of magical fighting
booksellers who police the mythical Old World when it
disastrously intrudes into the modern world."
I am familiar with other titles by Garth Nix. I like the sound
of that one!
It's a little sad actually. (Not having bookstores)
Start one up! <g>
Today.. a bookshop may have another feature such as a coffee
bar or a space available to hold events to help make ends meet.
Or the shop could feature specialized categories: only fantasy
fiction (and sell swords?) only kids books (and offer some toys
and puzzles?), etc.
There's a bookshop in Nova Scotia that operates a little "farm"
where kids can pet and play with the animals and even explore a
themed little-village.
