Do you get U.S. playoff games on your viewing device? Good game last night between the rival Yankees/Red Sox!

Hey there, nice to see you posting in the message areas, and welcome :)

I'm based in Dunedin, New Zealand. There are folks from all over the place active on fsxNet message areas, I hope you enjoy your time in BBSing and also having fun with message areas and chatting.

    Best, Paul

    You'll do fine :)

My old primary school had this motto 'Learn by Doing' and I think that sums up many things (including BBSing) well.

Main thing is, if you have any questions and/or need help just sing out here and post your question(s). I'm sure there will be folks around happy to answer them and/or point you in the right direction.

Heheheh... I feel the same way, but I think you win in terms of travel miles :)

I only have reasonable* claims over 2 countries, 3 time zones, 5 states, and rather more cities than are reasonable to count.

    * Any place I've lived for at least six months (With a further minor caveat
    or two).

I, oddly, _still_ don't feel like that much of a world traveler.

But, anyway, my flight to Germany leaves in about 6 hours from when I'm
    writing this.

(but, seriously, I imagine we have enough different people here that there
are plenty of people more well-traveled than I am, even if I'm currently bouncing back and forth a lot)

(But, seriously, welcome to any new people, and I'll enjoy seeing the names pop up, and hope they some day become old names.)

Yeah, and you're one who has seen that a fair amount, since I was a new name back in 2018, when I first followed the Mystic Guy videos.

    Yes I agree.

The community is helpful and friendly and those who have been using BBS software for a while are always happy to help others learn how to use it / set it up etc.

Sunday morning here as I write, my weekend is 50% over already - yikes :)

    Golly time flies!

...though turns out it doesn't fly quite as quickly as I said. I thought I might've been wrong on that, and it was October 7th, 2019 that I got
the 21:2/108 address, so it would've been a couple days before that that I
used the 21:1/999 address (and had the helpful messages of people chiming in
to get an assigned address quickly, as does normally happen, here.).

ah OK, yes I hope to build some database in the future where folks can check their node history. Right now I am trying to finish off an ip6tables mystery :)
