• The Flaming Wrath of Árelor update

From Arelor@21:2/138 to All on Thu Dec 10 12:46:32 2020
    Hi everybody!

I wish I could say I am going fast this week, but I got caught by work so processing the 4th chapter of The Flaming Wrath of Árelor has been delayed a little bit.

This problem has been agravated by the fact a couple of insurance agents stole an hour from me while I was supposed to be working in the book. Then I stole an hour by trying to sell soap to them.

I an confident I can still finish this chapter this week. That would imply I am working twice as fast than I had predicted, which is freaking awesome.

What's just 2 stolen hours out of a whole week? Nothing. You've get plenty of time.

There are at least 2 books I've seen that describe the different writing habits of authors and how they self-motivate. Sounds like all you have to do is steal an hour from a customer and sell some soap!

Two hours in a week are nothing until you realize those were the two hours you had for the task :-)

I have been under a bit of psychological pressure as of late with tasks piling up. On Wendsday I cracked and threw my Nokia against the wall. Now the wall has an ugly dent. The Nokia is still as good as new btw. I know it is an Internet meme at this point but this stuff was built to last.

    Hello once again!

I have just edited the 5th Chapter of The Flaming Wrath of Árelor, which is an important milestone because it means 50% of the work is already done.

I am considering uploading the first chapters for you retrofans. I think I will upload some to my gopher site for those who are curious as to how the novel is turning out, and upload an epub version of the first chapters to my web store. The idea there is that the people who has jumped into the preorder can see if I am getting the formatting right and bug me if I am not :-)

The bad news is that Asimov Magazine turned down another one of my stories: "Guns of the Death God." This is not exactly surprising because the story has too much fantasy than the magazine usually accepts, but it was still worth trying. A bit disappointing because proofreaders love that one.
    part.

I only noticed an .epub that contains a 3-page Prologue. Are
there other files that I may have missed?

I would associate the Azimov brand to a purer or technical form
of sci-fi. I would not expect magic or fantasy. I believe that
you mentioned that another pub has picked up on your material.
Devote your concern to that one as much as you can.

I will have similar pressures as I have to motor through
    bookkeeping tasks.

Can you hang a picture over that spot to cover it up? Maybe a
    Nokia poster would look good.

    Nokia = +1. Wall = 0

Yup the preview is prologue only as for now.

The current Asimov magazine is not such a pure scifi publication as it used to be.
Analog seems to be more traditional.

Hybrid Fiction seems to be in a sort of limbo as of now, so until it breaks out of
hibernation I have to keep looking for alternatives. Besides, I had like 10 stories up
for submission before I even started taoking to Hybrid Fiction.

I was thinking of hanging a picture of a horse. I am a Nokia fan, but not that much of
    a Nokia fan.

    Hello!

I have just risen up from my lazy ass and retaken the edition of The Flaming Wrath of Árelor after the Holiday. I have just finished Chapter 6 in both English and Spanish.

I am very satisfied with this chapter for some reason, despite the fact it is not that impactful for the plot. I think it is because of some character development that goes on for a character I like specially.

I want to thank everybody who has checked the epub files I left around and shared their thoughts. You've been very helpful.
