I remember when I was driving from Muskoka to Calgary the sights from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba border were amazing. I have a picture of
me on a shore of Lake Superior from that trip. Really make you
appreciate just how big Ontario is.
One day I need to travel West from TB. As of now, I have only traveled
North and East from there. :)
We were warned to watch for moose once the sun went down and boy were
they right. Driving along Hwy 1 and suddenly the forests looks like a Scooby Doo cartoon with all the eyes you could see looking back at you.
LOL, that was the one thing I was disappointed with regarding that trip (as well as another trip through the UP of Michigan)... I was hoping to see wildlife like moose that I cannot see here in the wild at home. Instead
all I saw was deer, wild turkeys, and some remarkably nonaggressive Canada geese. And lots of squirrels.
I did get to see some baby wild turkeys, which I've not see here before,
and some birds that are not seen here, so it was not a complete
disappointment. And, of course, the one early morning I decided to go
hiking alone I did not run into any bear, which was good! :O :D
Side Note: That was the only speeding we got on the whole trip was
along that route. They have some sneaky hiding spots along there.
Being a foreigner, I did not want to do too much speeding. I figured they would catch me and then revoke my rights to visit. :( I would like to be
able to go back and see more. Every time I reached a passing siding, I
took to it quick so that all the speedy Canadians could get on by me. :)
