I lost my day 12 years ago from prostate cancer, they said he might live
a year, he ended up living 5 years from his diagnoses. Cherish the time you have left and remember him fondly after he is gone.
Now, The hospital has sent my father home for home hospice, and they
says
it's going to be quick.
My sister is flying in from Germany, two of my dad's brothers were
driving in
today from Kansas. His sister and her husband are driving in tomorrow.
It used to be a running joke that this side of the family only gathers together for weddings and funerals.

Yes, it's definitely a running joke in my family. Sadly, the ratio of funerals to weddings is likely to increase in the future. But we have been keeping up the supply of weddings (including mine in 2018 :) ). :)

and my mom died in 2019 when I was 22 from kidney failure. The latter I still feel is my fault since I put her through a lot during my school years after dad died, and my mental development having been stunted (I feel) until recent years didn't help with her healthcare.

Wow, you've got a lot on your plate... good luck with everything... all the best to you and your parents... we'll be thinking about you!
Really sorry to hear this Paul. Hope he makes a solid recovery. Don't worry about anything else, including work. Doing 4 hours of work is probably 3 more hours than half of New Zealand is doing at the moment anyway!
Wishing you, your father and the rest of your family the very best.

Good to hear from you! and hope you feel better very soon!!
Here's more get-well wishes for you!!
Take care,
Glad you're ok. Sorry about covid, that can't be fun. We've been lucky enough to avoid it so far.
I've been mostly lurking lately with limited time but just saw this post -- hope it's not kicking your arse too much. It put me out for a few
days the first time around, but not too terribly bad. Hope you get quick recovery!
Ouch, hope all is ok!
Hey Paul, Hope it wasn't too rough on you, but glad you're on the

Man that is horrible! I hope you are one of luck ones that its
something that isn't bad for you. Some people its a more tired that anything. Get rest lots of fluids be well!.
I wish you all the best, a quick recovery and no lasting effects!
Feel Better Soon! ... I had that crap for the first time after two
years, and I am Vaxxed, with two boosters ... Picked up the B-Varient and it kicked my butt. Felt like a train wreck and swallowing glass for
a week. Whew!
I hope you feel better soon.
Glad you're on the mend! and thank you for all the work you do keeping this train on the tracks.
Glad to hear you're on the mend. Peoples experience of COVID-19 seems
to vary very very much.
Stay well!
Get well soon! :)
Get better soon! I was vaxxed but not boosted and ended up with COVID in March. I just finally got rid of the cough. :(
Thanks :) Yep on the mend but walking not running (so to speak) at the moment.
Hope all is well with you. Appreciate your kind thoughts!
Yep doing better now but feel like I have a million messages and things
to do... will need to take it slow.
Nice to hear from you and hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
I wish you all the best, a quick recovery and no lasting effects!Well nothing fell off and so far asides some tiredness I think I've escaped rather lightly, so that's good.
2022 has been a tough year for many, guess it's been my turn to experience that in a number of ways... still gotta keep looking at the positives and appreciate what you have etc.
Hope you're doing OK and that day to day is treating you kind.

Sending good vibes for fast track times and more:)
Thank you! I'm on holidays at the moment in northern Germany, next to
my notebook I'm looking at the baltic sea - it's quite nice :)
Besides, it's really a hard year for my wife and me, as we still want
to avoid CoViD (or to be precise: we want to avoid the chance of long lasting effects, because not being able to work isn't a nice thing).
But due to the fact that (as we have the feeling) everyone else has given up avoiding it and protecting others by wearing masks, we often feel unsafe and that hits us quite hard.
At least we found some new friends who share our feelings and thus we can meet them and feel safe there :)
I'm now just trying to play catch up on echomail, netmail, email, mai mail... eek! :)
I tend to just say "screw it" and delete everything. There's something theraputic about starting over.
Still waiting on the house, and work, well that's an ongoing issue.
Thanks. The first test is on October 1. :)

I know this feeling also. Even though I have had it I am cautious and maintain masking in public areas and while moving between different floors in the building I work in. I think do what makes you both feel safe etc.

Everyone can do what they are comfortable with, some of us like doing more than others :)

the encounters resolve as you meander toward the exit and hope you survive. Of course, only Talisman sysops will be able to run it (Lua)
but want to make it a add-on for this awesome BBS system.
I also closed down "Sysop Help Desk" on Discord. Too many things to manage/promote, and since Apam has a Matrix channel for Talisman

Todd, Deon, Dan and Ruben for their help with the NETs they run - thanks guys!
Humm.... that's about it for now. I'd best get back to the admin stuff. Will post an update later of removals and an addition.
stay/visit to the hospital had her gall bladder taken out. She's spent
the last 7 days with us at home and today we're taking her back to her apartment.
My youngest son called us yesterday morning (my Saturday... as it's
Sunday here as I write this) to say he was also in the hospital
emergency department with breathing issues. So we shot down again to the
antibiotics and they think it's bad bronchitis brought on by the crappy student flat he is living in.
Work has been busy, we've had several changes in senior management
roles. The rest of us are wondering what changes are coming next.
I'm more aware of the passage of time these days and the loss some of the people I know/work with etc. feel as their parents pass away :(
Best wishes.
Hope your daughter is recovering quickly, and glad to hear your son is doing OK.. Is that going to motivate the landlords to do something about his place, or does it mean he'll be moving?
Enjoy your time with your folks too.
