The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed the bill with total support by both parties, by unanimous consent, which could mean sunnier evenings
year-round - and less-sunny mornings in winter.
The bill's fate lies largely with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. If the top lawmaker chooses to bring this legislation to a vote and it passes the House of Representatives, it would become U.S. law.

Such a move would create pressure for Canada to follow suit, as jurisdictions like Toronto and Ottawa might be keen to have their clocks co-ordinated with those in New York and Washington.

I live in Canada.
Yup, me too.
The privacy spazzes on here are going to lose their minds over this one.

If one zooms out enough, can they see the armpit?

Hehe, I typed 45.6071,74.6042 into Google Maps and it brought me to the middle of Lake Balkhash in Kazakhstan.
Something told me that wasn't correct so I entered 45.6071,-74.6042 instead and I was plopped down almost halfway between Montreal & Ottawa which seems more plausible, assuming of course you're not an amphibious Kazakh... ;)

Only if you have smell-o-vision enabled.

Isn't "smell-o-vision" a bit of an oxymoron? If you're smelling something, then you aren't using your vision. :P

In other words, they are doing it bassackwards, which is expected of our Congressmorons.

Guys, this is kinda straying into taboo territory...as far as I know,
Avon hasn't reversed his decision on political discussion...

DST provides more sunny hours into the evenings. THAT makes
excellent sense to me. Who wouldn't want more daylight during
the glorious summers?

The original topic involves something the US Senate did that will eventually have an affect on many outside the US so what do you expect?

And you don't get MORE daylight, they are just moving
around the time of day you get it.

I expected exactly this. But, it is one thing to discuss 'world
events', and something else to delve into politics. I'm not suggesting that the discussion should end, I'm only suggesting that we should all remember the fsxNet values...
Since I live in the US, I figure I am allowed to call our senators
morons, especially since I directed it at the whole body and not one
side. That is pretty lite, politically speaking, compared to the discussions that usually drag us down.
Well, if we cannot talk about the US Senate's actions, because it isI think if it goes to a flame fest, then we have to self moderate.
full
of politicians, then we shouldn't be talking about the subject at all

OK, change my original statement to "Who wouldn't want daylight
shifted into the glorious summers to enjoy?"
BTW.. summer months have "more" daylight wrt the sun rising
earier and setting later. That is all I meant.

Not when they shift it into bedtime. Having a job, I have to go to bed sometime. When it is still light out at 9pm, it is difficult to convince the mind that it is bedtime (or past it).
