Yes, we have Uber Eats in the UK. Deliveroo are another of the big players.

Works pretty well! Although where you live impacts coverage, Deliveroo has recently been rolled out to my area, but whether the restaurants in the nearest city deliver depends heavily on how busy the delivery network is....

Having friends in the restaurant business I won't use the services.
They take far too much of the profit away from the restaurant. I
always call and order directly. If I'm unable to drive and need
delivery I will still call the restaurant directly and ask if they
deliver. Saves them a lot of money.

    THIS.

Hearing about GrubHub creating web sites for their customer's restaurants
and routing calls to their call center is unethical. Seeing how they then calculate the cost of calls to their customers is horrendous.

It's deceptive looking at a google search for a restaurant and seeing competing third-party services that the restaurant may or may not be
    involved with.

I live in an area where there's not a lot of delivery. I have one nearby pizzeria that delivers, for the rest I'm fortunate to be able to drive and pick up the food. Since 2020, however, most restaurants have improved their ability to do takeout, so there's more choice if you're able to pick it up yourself.

Never used them myself, but I don't normally order in anyway. I'm more likely to take a trip to the take away and pick it up myself, whether I order in store or phone ahead and pick up later.

But I have considered doing deliveries with one of those type of services to make a few extra dollars.

I think we have Uber Eats, MenuLog and Door Dash around here.

I haven't. Every time I check one of their services, I feel like the extra expense of using them is just too much. I'd rather go pick up the food myself. Also, they can make mistakes sometimes. They might deliver you the wrong order, or be missing something but they wouldn't think about it.

A few weeks ago, I was going to pick up some food from a fast food place for my girlfriend and I, and I ordered ahead online so the food would be ready when I got there. When I got there, it turned out a DoorDash delivery person had picked up my order by mistake; there was another person with the same first name who had ordered food and the DoorDash person picked up my order instead of theirs. So they had to re-make my order and figure out what to do with the other person's order - and that other customer got the wrong order (mine instead of theirs), and I'm sure they were frustrated.

Same. I can drive the fifteen minute roundtrip and just get it myself. The only time I ever really use it is when I used to travel for work and could expense it.

    yup.

worked for doordash too. after seeing many drivers' habits and hygiene i was disgusted.

why anyone would pay all that extra money to have food delivered which will most likely be cold upon arrival is baffling.

I have - sure, problems can arise, but that can happen anywhere
and any time. I usually just use them when I'm at a hotel. Sometimes
I'll get Chick Fil A delviered at work, but they offer their own
    delivery...
