Actually, in medieval times, geese were used as guards,
because they can be very aggressive, so I'm not surprised.
A goose adopted my Aunt Ann when she had a farm in
Alberta. If anyone tried to get close to her the goose
would chase them away. The goose at least backed off when
Ann said "Goose! It's okay". She never trained it or fed
it nor understood why goose chose to protect her. I don't
remember how many years it lived that way but it was
enough that most of the family had an encounter with it.
