Replace the words 'a google' above with 'an internet search using your browser of choice and your search engine of choice.'

Is webcrawler or altavista still around? :) Pre Google, WebCrawler was pretty good...

I miss the days of competing webmail services and competing search engines. Don't miss the ridiculously low disk quotas.

I remember in the begining of Hotmail the storage limit was 2MB which was fine, because back then we were used to deleting our messages when we were done with them. Either that or connecting up Outlook Express and just downloading everything with POP3 which would delete it from Hotmail servers.

Then along came GMail in 2004 with its 1GB storage limit and all of our minds were blown...

I used to be a heavy Altavista user, before Google came along.
