    because you're feeling bored?

I think I can relate, but not entirely. Certainly, I've had times where I cannot decide which game I want to play, or which project I want to tinker with. Definitely, I (too often) avoid doing my chores...But I have never thought of this...indecision...as being bored?

Then again, I don't really understand 'boredom'...How can anyone who has
human intelligence ever be bored, when there is so much to find fascinating? (o_O)

Ever since COVID-19 started in 2019, society has changed vastly to say. Lots of freedom that we did have has become very limited in a lot of ways. TV has gotten so boring that I hardly ever watch it. Movies keep getting delayed which doesn't help either. We live in a crazy mixed up world now. Our weather is screwed up also. Just my two cents.

I simply adapted. When I couldn't train with a group, I trained alone or with one other (which was permitted all the time). If I couldn't use regular venues, I made do with what I could use. To deal with the lack of social contact, I became active on ham radio - a perfect activity for lockdown. BBSing was also a good lockdown activity for the same reasons.

And if I wanted to get out of the house, I came up with the "coffee stroll" - a walk to a nearby cafe, pick up a take away coffee and then continue walking. Often done solo, but occasionally with a friend.

    Ways and means. :)

Think about moving. I'm not sure where you're located, but the move from Washington to Oklahoma was life-changing for my family. Don't believe the hype; everything is completely normal here outside of the ~10% of folks wearing masks. Nobody even worries about it, covid wards aren't overly full, people are just living their lives more or less normally. I got the `rona around New Years and aside from close to a month with an impacted sense of smell, and some cold symptoms, it was fine. I'm in one of the higher risk categories and it wasn't even a concern.

Been bored lately. Everything I usually do isn't really fulfilling at the moment.

I've been reinstalling OSes, am and currently on AlmaLinux, but even
that is starting to get boring - there seems to be no interesting linux distros anymore and other OSes don't seem to run well enough on my computer. Maybe I've been doing it too long.

I've set up synchronet.. it's kind of fun. I'm keen to see what they're using MQTT for. But why?

I don't have the concentration to read a book or watch a movie. Even if I did I don't seem to have a long enough uninterrupted chunk of time to do so.

Started writing a BBS in rust, but that got old pretty quickly.

Set up a minetest server again, it's just me. It's kind of fun if I can get myself motivated to play it.

Second Life is kind of dull, but I have managed to break even the last couple of months, so that's a plus (ie, it's not costing me anything as I make enough in game to pay the fees)

Rust is cool, once you get the code to compile. ;)

Having said that, it is neat to see C and C++ and other languages, improve because of Rust and it's unique takes on things.

Set up a minetest server again, it's just me. It's kind of fun if I
can get myself motivated to play it.

Depending on what kind-o minetest server you're (or anyone else here is) interested in, let me know... I'm currently running a Minetest server (server.beanzilla.net default port 30000).

I've got cars, boats, planes, a helicopter, a submarine, oh and I even
got guns. (Please note, PVP fighting is enabled, and spawn is currently
bugged so you can fight/die at spawn, which isn't supposed to be allowed)
I've also got a interesting health mechanic, where geting shot,
stabbed, etc. can cause injuries that can cause you to bleedout, and when
your health drops to 0 it keeps going (like in a unconcious state).
You need someone else to patch you up with the right order of medical bandages in order to stop bleeding. (So making at least 1 alt is allowed/recommended, or have a friend you can ping to have them come heal
    you)

Or if you need any help in picking mods or have a mod you'd like to get
done up, just let me know, I've moved on to quite a collection of mods
and even done up a few modpacks.

I've set up synchronet.. it's kind of fun. I'm keen to see what they're using MQTT for. But why?

    I appreciate the testing! :-)

You're not in the nodelist... I wanted to netmail you, which you may
    or
may not get. I'd like to check out your SuperBBS.

Not in the nodelist? Have to say I haven't looked at a list in... it'd have to be years now. I'm not well set up for netmail, it gets
imported and lost.. I s'pose I could stop it importing and deal with
it from FrontDoor, but its always been a really low priority.

Ok, you should be able to receive netmail, but whatever. I found you in
the node list, I think I forgot to change the list I was looking in.
