of the rental market. As for buying, houses here are known to sell in hours at or above the asking price, and when land goes on the market, people swarm like seagulls on a chip. And the prices are rising dramatically. Our land has already increased by at least 50% in the
past year or so (good thing we bought when we did!), and the value of
the house is going to be well in excess of $500k, possibly $600k, by the time it's finished. We've already dodged a lot of the price rises with the timing of signing of contracts, etc. Now it's all go for the build
to start in January, after the Christmas break.
